Krass Kargoth |

The hobgoblin rubbed the back of his head. While the arcane powers that took a hold on him might have left the itch remains. "Do we want to drag her all across town to the Pathfinders lodge? In a way we'd be better off interrogating her here. Obviously she found something," and he points at the copper object,"special and it might be people be coming after us if they know it is us who took it from her. On the other hand, the lodge might take care of her while we investigate further. If we can get her there without anyong finding out.."
Krass eyes Shabbez when the others start talking as well and nods at her, letting her know she did well.
Indeed, I took the grappling hook+rope from Harbug. It is his. A question: full hp, half hp or roll for hp?

DM Bigrin |

Probably several things. I have all the Xp on a spreadsheet. That's why I posted the totals. Likely I forgot to give you XP for the downstairs goblins and stirges before you went upstairs.
half hp (+1 as usual), or roll. You make the choice, but you have to stick with it. Please post your level up crunch in the OOC thread (which skills you gained, feats, etc).

Angelica Nenaviste |

Angelica tucks the copper shard under her belt. If it once had a jewel set in it, it may be part of a much more valuable piece. "I think we're done asking questions. She is our target, we don't need to ask her anything, good ol Sheila does. We were just tasked with returning her, and alive if we could for the extra coin." She gets a big smile at the thought of the reward. "Thanks Buggy, feels a lot better, though I'm still a little light-headed."
She looks around the room, and gets an idea. "What about any of these tunnels here? I'd rather not drag her through the streets either, and it's not like it will make us smell any worse than we do now. They just may get us out of Underbridge, and at least a little closer to the lodge."
Looking over all their gains, she pointedly remarks "Until we know what Sheila has planned for her, I say we disarm her, but leave her with most of her stuff. She just may be forgiven by the Lady, and it may be a little awkward to have her come looking for her things. All the rest, though, look like spoils to me. I say we haul it all off, spend a little time removing the filth, and seeing what we can get for it."

Shabbezz Whorlpad |

Looking up from the wand she is examining, Shabbezz nods back at Krass with as much poise as she can muster. She realizes that enchantment magic can be invasive at the best of times and appreciates that he realizes that the wizardess had no other choice.
"Agreed," she replies to Angelica, once she finishes filling her pack. "I for one have spent all the time that I care to give in this ghastly dwelling. The tunnels will be fine, and we'll worry about our gains after the we reach the lodge and a much-needed bath. Let's be off."

Krass Kargoth |

Krass' chin dips down at Angelica's suggestion. His eyes peer up from under his eyebrows and he audibly swallows, licking his lips in what must be a moment of consideration - whether to think this suggestion to be genius or suicidal. He makes up his mind and says,"Sure, that might be a good idea. I got no problems with sight and I could always take off some of my armor for better footing if needed."
Krass eyes the woman and his eyes turn into cold iron. "I got half a mind to break her fingers just so she can't do that again, but .. I suppose that is a bit harsh if we already got all her gear and have tied her up."

Tialara |

"Let us be off then," Tialara said with weariness in her voice. I can't wait to get cleaned of this muck. Turning to Harbug, with a little more cheer in her voice, she said, "Would you be a dear and hand me my pack?"

Harbug the Slasher |

Harbug hands Tialara her pack and (once he's reached the ground safely) stows his rope and grappling hook. "It's not like we haven't walked through the streets with a prisoner before. We should simply take the short route back to the manor. Also, anyone else want some of the Blood God's blessings while I'm channeling it?"

Shabbezz Whorlpad |

Shabbezz leans against her staff as the move onwards. While not debilitating, her leg still aches from where that goblin's crossbow bolt struck her.
"That's equivalent to a healing spell, correct?" she inquires of Harbug. "If so, please proceed. I suppose it would only be practical to make use of it while we can."

Krass Kargoth |

"Let's just head back to the lodge. Fix her hair so it covers her face a little more, change her clothes in case they might be recognised and let us be done with this already. I want to know what that copper object is about .."

Harbug the Slasher |

Harbug pats the grippli once while muttering a few words in Orcish. 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10.
He then reaches over to Angelica and does the same. 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9.
Cure light on each of you.

Angelica Nenaviste |

She is only down 2 out of 14, save the heals.
As she sees Harbug heal Shabbezz, she waves him away "No need, I feel a different kind of bad, that isn't exactly pain. I don't think none of your healing will help me much."
She takes a closer look at the tunnels, then agrees that it might be a squeeze. "Okay, here's what we'll do. Harbug, you haul Angelica. Krass, you can manage a good chunk of the spoils. Tia and I will carry some of the straggler gear between us. I don't want for us to suffer being bogged down just for a few golds worth of smelly goblin leathers. We are in the Shadow, so the neighborhood is rough, and we could be a target carrying all this stuff. I say we stay as mobile as possible. If we come across any opportunity thugs, let me see if I can talk them away from us, so we can avoid any fights with all this crap... and Natalya of course, the biggest reward we carry."
Having laid down things as she sees them, she moves out toward the exit, before heading to Heidmarch Manor.

Krass Kargoth |

Krass wouldn't mind a good fight right now to set things straight in his head. That spell that washed over him made him look forward to the next time he can plant his fist in the face of a spellcaster.
Regardless, he nods at Angelica. "Fine, let's do that. Getting ahead with the mission is more important than a few coins for worn leathers."
I'm done at this place, lets go!

DM Bigrin |

The air outside the house is refreshing after the stench of the open sewage pools inside, though most of you have enough on you to still reek. The sun is bright, dazzling the eyes, which is why none of you noticed the woman step out from behind a neighboring building, pull a small hand crossbow, and fire it into Natalya's stomach. The unconscious woman made an involuntary sound, and blood ran thick from the new wound. There was a bruiser with her, more meat than brains, and from around the corner, two more stepped in. They menaced Krass with their weapons, but held their blows...for now.
"Natalya, sweetheart," purred the woman. She was dressed in leathers and her long strawberry blonde hair blew in the slight breeze. "I think it's time you came back to your sisters. We want to have a long discussion with you. As for you, thank you for finding my sister. It would be best if you disappeared now. I don't think you really want to be around for what happens next. Oh, and leave her things...all of them."

Tialara |

Seeing the bolt shot into Natalya's gut, caused Tialara to think, you have got to be kidding? Can't we ever catch a break? Immidiatley, she dropped her pack off of her shoulder and examined the prisoner.
Heal to determine the extent of the injury: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Krass Kargoth |

Krass eyes the condition of his companions. Four against five with the dumb ones right infront of me..
He waits a split second to see if Angelica is going to put her diplomatic skills to use before stabbing the bastard infront of him in the gut with his short sword.

Angelica Nenaviste |

Angelica waves her arms as best she can, hollering in agitation, "WHOA! What the hell do you think you're doing shooting a dead woman? We came to capture her, dead or alive, and she didn't agree. Now we're taking our prize home with us. If you wanted revenge, you should have acted sooner, now you missed your chance to talk to her." She indicates the nasty stuff they carry, "At this point, is it even worth a fight and possible loss of life just for the old goblin leathers we managed to collect?"
Bluff to convince her she's already dead and they only have junk 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25, +2 if she might be attracted to me (don't know how those Tower Girls roll)
On a side note, Natalya is knocked out and being carried by Harbug (I would imagine fireman's carry or over the shoulder sack o' potato style), I'm imagining a butt cheek would be easier to hit than her stomach.

Shabbezz Whorlpad |

^^^Well there's an image for you. Can you die in this game from a wound there? What if it had crit? :D
Ooh, *croak*, this did not look good. Best case scenario, they got out of there alive, with Natalya stabilized and in tow. Worst case, it would be days before anyone found their bodies.
From her position near the doorway, the grippli waits and watches how this scene is going to play out.

DM Bigrin |

I'd imagine it went in from the side there, maybe tearing into a kidney? nasty nasty.
The woman in dark leathers hung the hand crossbow on her belt and drew a shorsword. He other hand, which had been cocked on a hip a moment before, held a long braided whip of dark brown leather. "Silence, girl! I came for her, and here she is. Now drop her on the ground and all of her things and walk away. Are those old goblin leathers worth your life?"

Krass Kargoth |

Krass couldn't stand it no longer and lashed out with his mailed fist at the goon infront of him. He attempts to graze his eyebrows and rend his skin, causing his own blood to blind him.
I assume this will trigger a surprise round or initiative? Std action to dirty trick the goon in N-4.
Dirty Trick to blind:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20. If his CMD is 20 or lower he's blinded for 1 round. For every 5 that I go over his CMD, the penalty increases by 1 round. Rules for it copy-pasta'd into the spoiler down below.
You can attempt to hinder a foe in melee as a standard action. This maneuver covers any sort of situational attack that imposes a penalty on a foe for a short period of time. Examples include kicking sand into an opponent’s face to blind him for 1 round, pulling down an enemy’s pants to halve his speed, or hitting a foe in a sensitive spot to make him sickened for a round. The GM is the arbiter of what can be accomplished with this maneuver, but it cannot be used to impose a permanent penalty, and the results can be undone if the target spends a move action. If you do not have the Improved Dirty Trick feat or a similar ability, attempting a dirty trick provokes an attack of opportunity from the target of your maneuver.
If your attack is successful, the target takes a penalty. The penalty is limited to one of the following conditions:
blinded, dazzled, deafened, entangled, shaken, or sickened.
This condition lasts for 1 round. For every 5 by which your attack exceeds your opponent’s CMD, the penalty lasts 1 additional round. This penalty can usually be removed if the target spends a move action. If you possess the Greater Dirty Trick feat, the penalty lasts for 1d4 rounds, plus 1 round for every 5 by which your attack exceeds your opponent’s CMD. In addition, removing the condition requires the target to spend a standard action.

Krass lashed out and his mailed fist split the scalp of the thug beside him. Blood flowed thickly into the man's eyes, and he stepped back and wiped furiously at his eyes, clawing to clear his vision. The other two moved in, lashing at Krass and Harbug with their morningstars. Harbug took a heavy blow rocking him backward and causing him to drop Natalya. Krass's opponent hit him in the temple, rocking the hobgoblin's head to the side and causing him to see stars. The woman's whip lashed out at Harbug's leg, but the staggering orc managed to avoid being tripped.

Krass draws his sword and tries to gut the bastard that hit him. A quick feint up followed by a stab and Krass feels that over so sweet feeling of metal sinking into soft flesh. "Godsdammit, they couldn't wait until I had time to prepare new spells to do this, now could they!" Shabbezz groans in anguish as the fight breaks out.
She draws her crossbow and loads a bolt into position, then steps back from the fray in order to gain a clear shot at the blonde woman.
Move action to draw the weapon, and another move action to get from the doorway to Q9.

Angelica Nenaviste |

Angelica smirks at Krass' reading of the environment, glad that he's willing to do more here when there are more enemies, than he was up in the rafters. "Girl? Listen up, you hag of a vulture. We're keeping our spoils, and killing you will be a treat, the goblin leathers is just the icing." She moves wide around Harbug, staying out of the reach of the thug nearest him, drawing her thin blade as she moves. Taking advantage of Krass' positioning, she flanks the brute, before striking from her position of advantage. She spent too much of her focus on talking trash to the woman, that her full attention wasn't on her swing.

The group worked together to flank and isolate foes, but their enemies knew all the tricks too, and the attacks were less than a total success. Krass did manage to land a solid blow on one of the thugs, though he took a brutal blow on his shield in return. Angelica's foe slipped her attack and slammed her with his own morningstar, causing the woman to call out in pain.
Harbug's hex caused the woman's whip to slip in her hand as she lashed out at Angelica's leg. The whip fell to the ground and the woman ignored it as she gripped her sword tightly. She made no more conversation. Apparently now she was truly committed.

Angelica slides to her right, despite putting herself into more danger, so that she can set herself up for sneaking in a precision stab to a vital area. She jabs at the one harried by both her and Krass, all the while swinging wildly at the other beside him. She hopes to at least poke the one in the eye that Krass had got his first strike on. She didn't realize, until she started to swing her off-hand about, just how hard he had hit her arm. The numbing pain made it hard to get her hand to react how she wanted.

Hoping not to regret her decision, the Druid channeled the last of magical energy into bringing forth an ally. She then felt a sensation she hadn't before, as if a Ley Line of aligned with elemental water was near. On instinct, Tialara tapped into it felt her mystical strength grow.
Mist swirled up next to her, thickening into a glob of water, then took the shape of a centipede the size of man. The summoned creature then proceeded to attack the nearest thug.

Shabbezz Whorlpad |

Angelica lashed out at the thug between her and Krass, catching him a strong blow and sending him reeling, but still upright. Krass, meanwhile, slams his sword into his original opponent's chest, killing the man, before turning to help Angelica. Harbug did his part, chilling the man between them and robbing his sword arm of strength.
The man turned on Harbug, his weakened arm failing to find a good blow on the cleric. But the other thug was not affected in the least. He slammed out his morningstar against Angelica's poorly readied defenses and the crushing blow sent the thief spinning to the ground.

Terrific. I knew I should have saved that spell.
Seeing Angelica go down caused Tia to regret her decision. Unfortunately, the mild exhaustion from the summoning put her mind in a position to not do anything.

Krass Kargoth |

Krass shifts into a defensive stance. With one companion down it is imperative that he stays up at all costs. He presses one shoulder against his shield. The nose-guard of his helmet rests against it with his head slightly tilted forward as to not catch the full brunt of an impact with his nose. Eyes peer over the rim of his shield, trying to play mind-games with the enemy. The moment the enemy moves, his sword lashes out. When he feels the thrust connects he flashes a wicked grin and shouts out,"I'm coming for YOU, woman."

As Angelica bled out on the ground, Shabezz gave a warbling croak and fired at her attacker. The crossbow bolt struck the woman high on the collarbone, almost at the base of her neck, sending a spray of blood into the air and causing the woman to snarl in pain. Tialara's spell went off then, and a giant centipede appeared between Shabbezz and her opponent. The centipede reared and struck at the woman, mandibles raking across leather and chain mail, but was not able to connect. The dark clad woman thrust her sword into the belly of the giant centipede and scored a minor hit on it.
Meanwhile, Krass and Harbug dropped one of the remaining thugs, leaving only a single man to stand with his leader. The thug managed a good hit on Harbug, splitting open the orc's already wounded side width a short jabbing blow.

A direct hit! Now that Tialara's summons had engaged the woman so that she couldn't move to counterattack against Shabbezz, the grippli decided that it was best to see to Angelica.
