Harbug the Slasher |

"Well, seems like you're the best bet, as I need to rest or I can't hear the Blood God's voice. If you can make a list of things you want, I can head to the market in the morning while you get some rest and then we can go to The Crow."
Harbug will teach his familiar the Angelic Healing spell from the scroll as discussed previously and then rest for 8 hours. After that if Krass has a list of things he wants purchased I'll see about shopping (possibly with Shabbezz or Tialara so that if things go wonky I'm not alone).

Krass Kargoth |

Krass frowns as he had hoped there would be someone with healer skills, but he nods at Harbug. "So it must be than. Well, if such weaponry is available, I'd like a silvered short sword. Some scrolls with healing spells on them or potions of healing would also be appreciated. Climbing gear, especially nails, pitons and rope, might also be of use?"

Shabbezz Whorlpad |

"Excellent ideas all around. I too shall accompany Harbug to the market in the morning. In the meantime, I have some preparations to make before turning in for the night."
When we head out to the market tomorrow I need to make sure to purchase a scroll of identify to transfer to my spellbook; we've been snagging a lot of loot and it was an oversight not to grab it when I leveled up.
In the meantime, I'm going to have Shabbezz try and cast detect magic on that wand we found. Afterwards she'd like to take a cursory look at the artifact and then head to bed to replenish her spells.
Spellcraft check after using detect magic for 3 rounds to identify the properties and command words of the wand (DC 15 + the item's caster level): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13 Failure; can't retry until the next day. Ah well.

Krass Kargoth |

The hobgoblin gathers what he thinks he needs to take care of Angelica. He asks where he can get some bandages, salves and herbs and then moves on to get them. A final stop by the kitchen to get some soup is the last thing he does before he visits Angelica at the sleeping quarters.
With utmost dedication and care he goes about his job, applying common sense and hobgoblin wisdom to Angelica's situation. He asks her basic questions about her health and if she swallowed any of the muck. Knowing that it can be a bit embarrasing he keeps his eyes busy on the things he's preparing for her. But after he's done with that, he tells her that there's but one solution to get rid of the muck - and he presents her with a bucket. After regurgitating the need to proceed with his idea she finally does so and he makes sure the no longer empty bucket disappears out of the room as soon as possible.
The hobgoblin then helps her clean up and applies bandages and salves where necessary. A bowl of soup follows and soon after Angelica drifts off. Krass can't help but hope that his improvised efforts helped her and didn't make matters worse.
Long-term care: dc15. Takes 8 hours.
You can tend as many as six patients at a time. You need a few items and supplies (bandages, salves, and so on) that are easy to come by in settled lands. Giving long-term care counts as light activity for the healer. You cannot give long-term care to yourself.
Heal check:1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16

Tialara |

After awaking from The Rift Walk, and feeling an added power to her repertoire, Tialara went to check on Angelica.
Upon entering the room, she looked around and noticed the various items, "Well I see someone's been looking out for you. How are you feeling?"

Angelica Nenaviste |

Angelica requests that they pick her up a silver dagger at the least before succumbing to the need to be tended by Krass of all people.
Krass finds her to be a most difficult patient. She constantly argues, slaps his hands away, complains, and generally doesn't follow orders. She is lucky though that Krass is the one tending her, because Tia and Shabbezz may have been too kind about it, and complied with her wishes. He and Harbug are probably the only two that would force her to receive treatment.
Angelica wakes, drowsy-eyed, but no less smirking than usual. "Did you have a date waiting that I was left to the crude care of Krass' soldier style medicine? I don't think I'm at my best, but feeling better all the same."

Krass Kargoth |

Krass frowns,"Crude? In Belkzen's the Empty Hand shamans would .. never mind that. I'm glad to hear you're feeling better." He pats her on the shoulder and leaves for the kitchen to get some breakfast for the three of them. He returns and in silence eats his meal.

Krass Kargoth |

Breakdown of the stuff we should get: Silver Short Sword (30gp), 2x Silver Dagger (44gp), 20 Silver Crossbow Bolts (42gp), Scroll of Identify (25gp), 5x Scroll of Cure Light (125gp) and Climber's Kit (80gp, maybe we should take two of them! if so, 160gp). This would mean 344gp or 424gp in total. Feel free to add anything to the list! Someone else can do the selling?
If we somehow end up swimming in money, I wouldn't object against a full-plate, but that needs to be fitted and thus will take some time. Other useful things could be one or two Antitoxins, a potion of Neutralize Poison, a potion of Enlarge and of course some Oils of Magic Weapon. Some Everburning Torches are also a nice thing to have when dungeon-delving and to light up our camp-sites.

Krass Kargoth |

Krass: mwk short sword (58), small steel mirror (50) (got to make sure my hair looks good).

DM Bigrin |

For the "appraised" items, you can either try and sell them yourselves, with appropriate appraise checks to value them and then dicker with the jewelcrafter, or you can use the "Pathfinder Fence" and take 50% of book value. Selling them yourselves is a gamble. With good rolls you can make a lot more than 50%, but you can also make less.

Angelica Nenaviste |

First, I wanted to say Krass, you did a great job going through all that stuff.
We were told we would get 500 gp for bringing in Natalya, and an extra 500 gp for her being alive. I'm not sure if that's been added in or not. Also, we have a MW silver dagger, and a MW hand crossbow (plus bolts) in there. Angelica could use both of those (was using darts due to cheapness of them, and one less silver dagger needed bought).
As for the appraised items, unless we really need the extra money right now, I don't see why we can't just wait until they can be appraised. Currently I have a +10 to appraise, so I have a decent chance of doing well enough.
Fort save 1d20 ⇒ 7, ohh darn that can't be good.

Krass Kargoth |

Fair enough. I also found two climber kits, so I guess we don't need to buy those. But as for the silver daggers, we might as well get them - they're cheap and it gives all of us a chance to melee for SOME damage. We're already lacking in the 2h power attack department, might as well make sure we got some damage with us. Silver light weapons are cheap. And sure, we can keep get the gems. If anything, they weigh less than money so are easier to carry around.
I will remove the mwk hand crossbow from the list :) if anyone else wants items from the 'to sell' list, let me know so I can alter it and post it again.

DM Bigrin |

Krass' ministrations ease the worst of Angelica's physical wounds, but as she tries to sit up the next morning, she feels terrible. Her skin is clammy from night sweats, and though she feels on fire, she can't stop shivering. Her muscles respond sluggishly, and every move cramps her stomach with nausea.
Angelica takes 1d3 ⇒ 3 DEX damage and 1d3 ⇒ 1 CON damage

Angelica Nenaviste |

Angelica, claiming to feel better, tries to get up from bed. Her knees almost give way, and she covers her mouth quickly to avoid from losing her recent breakfast. She offers a weak smile through pale skin, "So, when do we leave?"

Tialara |

Seeing Angelica nearly collapse, Tialara helped her back into the bed. "Oh, I don't think you're going anywhere." The druid put the back of her hand against the woman's forehead.
Heal: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
"You are most certainly not well. In fact, you're burning up."

Harbug the Slasher |

Harbug meets Krass in the morning to take the shopping list before he meets up with Shabbezz to head to the market. "Need to add anything else to this..." he trails off and then adds "She doesn't look too good today; it'll cost, but we could get a scroll to fix her up."

Shabbezz Whorlpad |

Shabbezz appears from a nearby doorway, backpack in tow.
"I think that might be a wise investment," she agrees. "In addition to prolonging her discomfort, the group is at a severe disadvantage while we wait for her to recuperate."

Angelica Nenaviste |

Angelica, eyes half-lidded and drowsy, adds her perspective "We don't need to wait. I'm good enough to go, let me ju... HUP.... puuhhh. Quick, gimme the bucket!" Her cheeks puff, mouth just held closed with a few fingers before it.

Tialara |

Quickly, Tia grabbed the bucket and placed it under Angela's chin. Turning her head towards the others, "I think I'll stay with her today, while the rest of you get the supplies." Turning back to Angela, she thinks, It's going to be a long day.
Knowledge (Nature): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
Then it don's on her, "Actually, if you could get me some White Willow bark, some ginger, chamomile, and some hot water, I can make her something to help ease the fever."

Krass Kargoth |

Krass looks at Tialara, somewhat puzzled. "Are you saying you can cure her with those ingredients? If so, of course. If not, I rather get the magical means to do so if you don't mind, Tialara. But the most important thing is that she's back on her feet again. If she's a little weaker I can simply safe-guard her."
He then apologizes himself for a moment. He leaves the room only to return with a bag with an assorted array of goods. With a thump he puts it on the table, pulls out the cord and starts handing out goods.
Tialara gets a tanglefoot bag, a smoke stick and a potion of lesser restoration. "You'll know when to use the potion on others and will be the one in the situation to do so more so than Harbug or I."
Shabbezz gets a tanglefoot bag, a smoke stick and a wand of Mage Armor.
11 charges on the wand. I don't know the caster level, but I assume CL 1?
Angelica gets a masterwork set of thieves' tools, a masterwork hand crossbow, a cure light wounds potion and a tanglefoot bag as well.
Harbug gets a cure light wounds potion and a potion of lesser restoration.
He himself takes a mirror and a cure light wounds potion. "I hope this is a satisfactory distribution for you all?"
We sell the rest because we'll be wanting a wand of cure light and a casting of remove disease on Angelica. This means that the list of goods I listed before nets us 891.5 gold pieces plus whatever the gems will get us. I myself prefer selling the gems JUST to clear the loot list, but that's not entirely up to me of course.

Tialara |

In answer to Krass' question, "No, I can't cure her fever, but I can at least reduce the symptoms to make her more comfortable until we get her healed properly."
When handed the items, she says, "Thank you, Krass." Placing the items in her pack, the Druid noticed the rope. "Would one of you be willing to carry this," she asked while pulling out the rope.

Tialara |

Looking in her pack, Tialara mutters, "I'm tired of lugging this heavy thing around. I think I'll leave some things here at the mansion."
With that, she headed to her usual spot, and left her bedroll, torch, and waterskin by the pond.
That drops me to a light load while carrying my pack. Yay!

Shabbezz Whorlpad |

"Very well then," she says, stuffing the items in her bag. "Shall we be off? I should like to get to the markets before the morning's wares are picked over."

Harbug the Slasher |

"Yes, let's head out. We'll pick up what's on the list and get some help for Angelica."
I think Krass has pretty well covered what we're doing with the loot, but we also want to purchase either a scroll of cure disease, or (if it's available) spellcasting services (which are a little bit cheaper than scrolls and won't require a caster level check).
Generally spellcasting costs: Caster level × spell level × 10 gp; Remove Disease is Cleric 3/Druid 3, and Lesser Restoration is Cleric 2/Druid 2 so their respective costs are (approximately): 5*3*10=150g for Remove Disease, and 3*2*10=60g per restoration. The caveat here is: "This cost assumes that you can go to the spellcaster and have the spell cast at his convenience (generally at least 24 hours later, so that the spellcaster has time to prepare the spell in question). If you want to bring the spellcaster somewhere to cast a spell you need to negotiate with him, and the default answer is no." If we can't find a temple with the spells prepared (such that we can bring Angelica there after the shopping trip) then we'll pick up a scroll of Remove Disease and 2 Lesser Restorations.

Shabbezz Whorlpad |

Since I now have a wand of mage armor, it just occured to me that I can also put the scroll of mage armor that Shabbezz wrote earlier up for sale, which would net us an extra 25 gp if it sold for its standard value. It might be wise to invest in more parchment (2 sp a page) for scroll creation later on; I currently have 3 sheets remaining. 5 more for 1 gp or 10 more for 2 gp would be a good number.
After calculating my final encumbrance, I'd also like to take 4 of the crossbow bolts out of the loot to replace the ones that I'd used up during the fight.

Krass Kargoth |

Keep it. You'll burn through 11 charges faster than you'd like (just use it whenever you think we'll be in trouble). Scribing down left-over spells is imperative as a wizard, whenever you have the chance. My 2 cents.
Krass nodded. ""Yes, let's go. First to get Angelica cured and stock up on scrolls and potions, then to the pillar to see what we'll be dealing with. We got climber's kits, arcane and divine power to fuel our efforts and somewhat of a plan, so what could go wrong?"
The last words were uttered through lips that had formed a daring smile.

Tialara |

Tialara looks at the Hobgoblin, arms loosely crossed, and says, "You just had to say it didn't you?" Her mind raced back to an old superstition her parents had. Never ask what can go wrong, because it will. The strange thing is, they were usually right.

Krass Kargoth |

Okay, so we are getting: 1) Cure Disease cast on Angelica for 150 gold followed by two lesser restoration at 60 each to cure CON and DEX damage. This may result in some lingering dex damage, but so be it. That is 260 gold in total. If possible we want to acquire a Wand of Cure Light at the temple. This should cost us 750 gold, setting us back for 1010 gold in total.
We got 891.5 gold from selling all the loot (minus the gems!), meaning we'll need to take 118.5 gold from our pool of 1377.52 gold. That puts us at 1259.02 gold.
We are also getting the following gear:
-Silver Short Sword (30gp) (for Krass)
-2x Silver Dagger (44gp) (for Tialara and Harbug)
-20 Silver Crossbow Bolts (42gp) (10 each for Shabbezz and Angelica)
-Scroll of Identify (25gp) (for Shabbezz)
-4x Scroll of Cure Light (100gp) (not sure if Harbug can use these? Otherwise Tialara.)
-10x Scroll of Magic Missile (250) or a nearly depleted wand if possible at 10-20 charges for 150-300 gold. (for Shabbezz)
-2x Oil of Magic Weapon (100gp) (for Krass and Harbug)
For a total of 341 gold minus MM, 591 with MM scrolls or 491-642 gold with the MM wand.
This means we'll still have a comfortable amount of gold left for emergencies or other necessities. Accord?

Harbug the Slasher |

I can use scrolls of cure light and the wand--it's on the Witch spell list; I just didn't take it as a spell known because I had the healing hex (and had though/hoped that 1 per day per person would be enough for first level =p). The list looks fine to me.

Tialara |

After a moment, Tialara looked at her companions and said, "Well you best be off then. I'll watch over Angela." The Druid then pulls up a chair next to the bed to keep the sick rogue company.

Krass Kargoth |

Okay, we spend 642 gold on the items. Shabbezz gets a MM wand at CL1 with 20 charges, and we all get the other items on the list. We now have 617.06gp left in total.
After the shopping is done, they're all ready to rock and roll. Equiped for the (expected) trouble ahead, what could go wrong?
"Let's go down to the docks to get us a small boat? I assume we'll need one to get to the pillar in question, right?"

Angelica Nenaviste |

With all the shopping accomplished, does that mean all the spells were cast on Angelica? If so, are there any rolls to be made, and who is rolling them? DM for the caster that cast them, or myself as the recipient?

Harbug the Slasher |

Harbug busies himself with re-packing his things, making sure the scrolls are within easy reach and the silvered dagger is in a sheath at his belt. After a dozen minutes he rechecks his gear one last time and declares himself ready to go.
Speaking of re-checking, for inventory purposes, how many scrolls of Cure Light am I going to hold?

Tialara |

Best not to keep all the eggs one basket. Sure I'll take one.
Putting a hand on Harbug's shoulder, Tialara said, "Mind if I have one of those healing scrolls friend? I would hate it if we got separated and I was out of healing spells."
