A foul omen looms in the sky over the scoundrel city of Riddleport, an ominous shadow that defies the light. Is it a curse laid millennia ago by forgotten mages? Does it forewarn against the return of some terrible foe? Or does it portend a terrible

Votes for calling our team some variation of "The Raiders?" (Bonus points if a lost Ark can be included.)

Raiders brings really bad association with Oakland, though. I'd like to think we can be better than that.

We'll just choose colors other than silver and black, to avoid the association better ;)

okay, game plan?

I believe the plan was to get some urchins to make a ruckus in front of the building, then for us to sneak around the back, break in and sneak through the building and find Saul. Did we plan to drag him outside at that point, or to use him as a human shield to stop his hirelings from killing us.

As soon as we have Saul in hand, we could force him to pay off the hirelings so they won't feel that they're violating their contract if they leave...

Let me know when you are ready to go, who is going where, and how you plan on making your approaches. I'll deal you in after that.

My scrolls are purchased, I just need to tweak a cantrip... And I am definitely going to be in the group sneaking inside. ;) Can't fireball the building from the outside yet, after all...

Anklebiter's got the gist of it. I'll be undoing any locks on the back door, but I suspect we'll need Lefrik to chop down the door. Once inside, some of us head upstairs to secure the catwalk, and the rest hold off the others at the doorway to the kitchen. Once the archer team is in place, we make the push into the Goblin's main room itself, and deal with Saul. In short, we give him no avenue to escape.

Any changes to the plan? And who wants to be on which team? I'd think Anklebiter would be very useful on the catwalk, while Lefrik probably needs to be downstairs.

Kel can go with either team. She may be more useful backing up Lefrik, she has a high AC and can draw attacks away from him while keeping him healed and semi-protected from flanking. She can also drop a color spray and obscuring mist for those in that group.

I think we're set, Anklebiter and Calla upstairs, Lefrik and Kel downstairs, Bruendor in the flex with an audible for what the defense throws at us. Figure they'll have traps set up after those few days to prepare. Kel will drop a bless the moment the party enters the building.

I should probably plan on heading upstairs as well - gaining the high ground should be one of our main goals here, and any support I can lend there means we can rain death into the main room sooner.

Every one of my posts is essentially a "round", so go ahead. There's not much to do at this point except internal recordkeeping until you get through the door.

I've had similar problems. Even when I could get in, pages rarely loaded all the way, or were sluggish as hell when they did.

I'm pretty sure it was the entire site. Hopefully we're back to normal now.

With Christmas and New Years coming up, I don't expect everyoe will be able to post daily. post when you can, if you can, and we'll pick up normal hours in 2013.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Years everyone!

I think we're just waiting on Bruendor, who's been busy (based on a post in the game he's running). You may want to DMPC him.

That said, it's a busy time and I'm reading wondrous item after wondrous item, so I'm fine waiting until the busy season's over.

Happy holidays, all.

DM Bigrin, I've been meaning to ask: what's your position on Item Creation feats? Will we ever have enough breathing room to make some serious items, not to mention a stable base to produce them in, or are we better advised to go for Metamagic and other goodies?

It'd be sweet if Anklebiter could be the first Goblin in the history of Golarion to make his own golem, but I'd like to know whether it's feasible before I devote the feat slot. :p

You can take time. i mean, if you think about it, it has been about 6-7 weeks since the adventure began. Now, once we get further into the modules, the downtime becomes less, but you can always choose to not rabbit after the first thing that comes your way. I have no problem doing the Gm fast-forward thing if everyone wants (e.g. "youi spend the next few weeks resting and creating magic items...).

Half-Elf (Chelaxian) Female HP 109, AC 26/18/21, F +13*, R +11*, W +15*, Init +8, Per +22 Inquisitor 13

Question for your Bigrin. The judgment feature reads as follows:
Once activated, this ability lasts until the combat ends, at which point all of the bonuses immediately end. The inquisitor must participate in the combat to gain these bonuses. If she is frightened, panicked, paralyzed, stunned, unconscious, or otherwise prevented from participating in the combat, the ability does not end, but the bonuses do not resume until she can participate in the combat again.

I'm curious how you define "combat ends"? If I activate my judgment now, will that last as long as we keep fighting, even if I'm having to chase Saul? Could I have activated it when I entered the Goblin and been fine even though the combat's been scattered over a few rooms? Or do you see it more as a quick combat -- for example, once the three thugs were killed while we were upstairs, that would've been the end of that combat and a new one will start when we get to Saul. (I'm wondering whether I can activate the judgment now or need to wait until I'm actually face to face with the treacherous little slive.)

Thanks.

If we are still in initiative and counting rounds, then the combat hasn't ended. A running fight is still combat, even if 10 consecutive rounds are "he runs, I chase". This raid on the Goblin is intended to be one large combat, broken into smaller chunks. Since I am still counting rounds, combat is still going.

does the Golden Goblin still have the chest on the pillar and the devil in the cage?

from 1st post:
In the center of the chamber is a short podium atop which sits a massive gold chest affixed to the floor by similarly gaudy chains. On either side of it stands a barechested bouncer in the exotic garb of some foreign sultan’s court. Each stands with muscled arms crossed over his chest and with a naked scimitar of prodigious size tucked through his waistband. High above them, from the hall’s cloth-draped ceiling, hangs a brass birdcage within which crouches a small, bat-winged, pointy-tailed devilish creature that sulks as it gazes over the room and occasionally rattles the bars threateningly.
