Raal - Yes. Any Force powers used will stay used. The entire drive to the front of the ship will count as one encounter, since you'll be constantly on the move.

Sho - Hmm, that is a really cool idea. However, I envision the breacher to have basically destroyed the in-between area between the ships. However, you could probably rip off one of the security doors halfway up the corridor and use it as cover. You would know that since it is bolted in, the DC would be 20 (or 15+FP) as a full-round action, a standard action to maintain. You'd have a better than 50% chance of affecting it, and I'd rule that even if you do not pass the check, it would make a subsequent check DC 15 because of the damage done by the first.

QFT, also as far the Force Point query goes, you have the right of it. You can spend them after the roll is made.

It's not a force power, It's a talent. Since this is one big encounter then anyone who stays within line of sight of Raal will retain a +1 to hit throughout it.

Yippee! I got my force point back.

"The Force is strong in this one"

I know it's not. I should have been more specific that in addition to your talent staying active, Force powers will also count as one encounter.

Does Raal have line of sight from M10 to rebel 1 at R14? I can't reduce the map for a clear view of it so I'd rather ask than asume...

Male Human Jedi 1

I would say yes.

lol I just reduced the whole window and themap gets smaller, duh...

Thanks DM for fleshing out my post. I did it from my mobile phone, which was a lesson in frustration!

I will try to use the map and be more precise going forward!

Krassus, 12 is a hit on the Rebel mooks. You get a Force Point refund. Also, you didn't move yourself on the map.

Loreck is next, then Urirawa (as we get to the next round), then the NPCs all in a bunch, then Dak, Sho Larn, Raal, and Krassus.

Male Human Jedi 1

Critical hit! ^^

Call, how did you have six force points? Shouldn't it be five?

Loreck Durgen wrote:

You are right. I should only have 5. My character sheet only showed 5 but the player forgot. ;)

I can't adjust the post but I did update my character sheet.

Male Human Jedi 1

Lol, no not you Kal, I meant Call Krassus.

Loreck Durgen wrote:

Oh. I thought I may have posted 1/6 on my last post...

If someone could move Garo to the right of Krassus (on the dead rebel) and cross out the newly dead Braids and Horny Devil, I'd appreciate it. I can't modify the map on my phone, although I can still see it. I moved some of them earlier into position (except Garo) at home in preparation for the post.

The thermal detonator went off in the corner to the above-right of Horny Devil, so it hits Krassus, HD, Braids, and Sgt Garo for half damage. Sucks for HD and Braids to be nonheroic. I need to check if Garo's alive when I get home.

Done. I removed the dead rebel becouse the strikethroug goes for all text in the bracket.

Whose turn is it in the combat? I think it's mine, but I'm not sure.

A small note from the offical errata of the core rulebook:

p. 155 – Area Attacks
Replace the first sentence of the second paragraph with the following:
"When you make an area attack, you make a single attack roll; if your modified attack roll is equal to 10 or higher, compare the result to the Reflex Defense of every target in the area."
Add the following sentence to the end of the second paragraph:
“A natural 20 on an area attack roll automatically hits all targets within the affected area, but area attacks do not deal double damage on a critical hit.”

So, if we're using that (at GM discression of course) our brave wookie was only hit, but not critted.

It's Urirawa's turn since the rebels just went.

Okay, that brings Urirawa's damage taken down to 14 (10 halved and 9, the first three rolls of the 6d6). The only other PC to take damage is the 12 damage that Krassus just took from the thermal detonator. (Being covered by Sergeant Garo meant that his AC went up by 5. Only a 20 would have dealt full damage.)

We actually just passed 19 on the initiative counter, which means that it is Dak -> Sho Larn -> DeWry (having delayed over to this point) -> Raal -> Krassus -> Loreck to finish out the round. The Rebels, stormtroopers, and Luke all delayed/readied to behind Urirawa.

Male Human Jedi 1

You can thank me later Urirawa. ;)

The saving of the 9 hp is nice but more important the new damage is less than Urirawa's threshold so he doesn't suffer the -1 on the condition track that he would have otherwise suffered.

It also means that Urirawa has now slightly more than 50% of his hp which means that he can't qualify for second wind but since that would only give me 7 hp back; so, I'm happy with that and don't have to be extra careful, yet.

Hmm, I might borrow the idea later on if I keep getting batter of picking up a security door to haul around as a 'riot' shield. :D <happy Wookiee Thoughts>

Actually your second wind gives you back a 1/4 of your hit points or your Con score, whichever is higher.

Male Wookiee Soldier 4/ Scout 1

Hey, that would be better. That would give me back 12 hp.

I was getting used to the 4e Second Wind which is 1/4 hp.

Male Human Jedi 1

Just reading that last post... I love this campaign. :D

Male Wookiee Soldier 4/ Scout 1

Yeah, I'm wondering what these Kensae are going to do to get Luke and the others out of the mess with the Thermal Detonator.

I actually realized that the first thermal detonator should have had a much wider spread. It was originally a grenade but I upped it to increase the ante. I forgot that a thermal detonator has a 4 square spread instead of the grenade's 2... Oh well. I'll just handwave it to say that the stormtroopers absorbed the blast.

Hopefully Kalderaan will go soon, as it's Sho Larn's turn. DeWry's plan hinges on all 3 of the Kensae acting in order.

Sorry for the delay. I was at a work conference and had no internet connectivity. Phone was wonky too. ;(

I have posted and await the results!

Kalderaan, great post! I am consistently impressed with everyone in the party. I think that everyone's good posts are helping everyone else post even better. It's a beautiful cycle.

Absorb Energy? Against a Thermal Detonator? 8d6? I'm scared... gona read up on destiny points.

Can I spend a destiny point to get a 20 on a skill check? It's says it's alowed for scoring an automatic critical but it says nothing about skills.

Yeah, you can spend a DP to auto-20 a skill check. If it's not enough, you can spend a FP and DeWry can spend one for you too. This moment is critical to your destiny.

Nice Raal. The Force was with you!

And a 6 on the force point :) Awsome. Destiny is at hand ;)

Male Human Jedi 1

Definitely, I met the highest DC I could on my UTF check.

Loreck Durgen wrote:

That was truly inspiring! Very, very cool.

I love this game already!

Grrrrrr. Wrote out a long post on the tiny keys of my phone. Hit 'submit'. Got an error message. Lost the text. I'll redo it tonight.

Male Wookiee Soldier 4/ Scout 1

So, Call is up next and then we are on to round 3 correct?

Just wondering if I should post Urirawa's planned charge of Rebel 8. I don't think anyone can interfere with that.

I've lost many posts to the post monster; so, I know the frustration of having that happen.

I now always <Ctr A> <Ctr C> to make sure that I've made a copy of my post. If something happens to the boards then I paste the copy into Notepad till I can later post the material.

I know many on the boards that write everything in word processors and then copy and paste to the boards.

Yeah, unfortunately I don't have that on the phone.

Call is next, then Urirawa, then the stormtroopers.

Sorry for the delay, folks. I had to deal with a three-way argument involving a crazy person and his two girlfriends. There was knife-pulling and name-calling. I ended up having to take the crazy one (paranoid and bipolar) to the local psychiatric center for an emergency detention. Took a few extra hours.

So, a normal day, eh? ;)

There's no such thing as a normal day in police work, but it certainly was not particularly unusual. Most departments now have mandatory training for dealing with the mentally ill. I run into CITs about once a week and do an emergency detention about once a month.

CIT:
Our training is called Crisis Intervention Training and abbreviated CIT. The term is interchangeable for us with "mentally ill crazy person".

Over in the main thread, destinies are revealed!

Anyone see the news that Lucas is going to 3-D and re-release both trilogies? (Apparently in canon order of Ep 1 to 6)

That last IC post was off the hook! EPIC!!!! Nice job, DM.

Thank you! I appreciate the positive feedback. I figure that since we are playing by post and have a lot of time to post, we can really make something special here. I'm very pleased to be part of it and I'm glad you're enjoying what we've got so far.

There's a lot more to come. I've augmented the original version fairly heavily with character-specific plans and some new characters. I'd have to check, but there are something like 7 major story arcs with 30 missions and locales planned out. That's not counting the inevitable off-the-rails moments. Fortunately, PBP allows for a lot of time to react and adapt in a way that RL games can't match.

...They're what?...

Ok. Not sure if I should be exited or worried.
Are they takin the old films and digitalizing them into 3-D (if thats even possible, I don't know) or are they going to shoot them all again? Frankly, both thoughts worrie me.

The former... I'm excited to see it in theaters. I only saw the rereleases in the 90s and the prequels in theater.

Male Wookiee Soldier 4/ Scout 1

I guess that puts me in the 'old' category to have seen them all in the theatre.

It's funny to think now of the kind of review Star Wars got in the papers back when it was first released.

I wonder how much of 'history' Lucas will change with this release. Whose face will be behind the mask of Vadar and who will be found to have shot Greedo?

So who is up right now?

Male Wookiee Soldier 4/ Scout 1

Call and Urirawa went; so, it is back to Luke, and the last of the remaining rebels, Rebel 9. Basically, it is the GM turn to do things and then it should be back to you (Sho) and the other Kensae.

We are out of initiative for the moment. It's first come, first serve. Once everyone is in position to breach the next room, we'll start there. Now would be a good time to use the door as a riot shield.

Male Wookiee Soldier 4/ Scout 1

Security Door - Urirawa has the Mechanics and Use Computer skills but he doesn't have any tools with him to make those skills work on the door to get it open.

Riot Shield - Urirawa could use his vibro-ax to cut the hinges on a security door that is open to help break it off and use as a shield.

Any other suggestions?
