Appearance:
The Kel Dors were a tall race, and Sho Larn is no exception. He stands at an imposing 1.9 meters (6.25’). His most striking characteristic is his skin color, which is an unusual crimson red. Sho was born with silver irises, which is a mark that was often seen as an affinity for the Force.
Background/Personality/Aspirations:
Sho Larn was born on the planet Dorin, homeworld to the Kel Dor race. His father was a prominent noble who served Dorin's monarchy as a Guardian, a warrior caste. His mother, a minor noble as well, died when giving birth to Sho. His surname, Larn, refers to his ancestors pretense for scholarly pursuits (mostly on his mother's side).
When it was discovered early that Sho had an affinity for the Force, he was sent to learn more under tutelage of the Kensae, as a part of the glorious Empire. This was as much to do with the duty his father was oath-bound to serve and the absence of a maternal presence.
He has the dubious honor of being a student of Tyvokka, a Wookiee Kensae instructor. Tyvokka was not adverse to airing his opinions and theories in front of others, even when he had no evidence to back his claims. This personality trait certainly rubbed off on Sho as well.
Sho became noted for his simple approach to justice. He typically saw moral issues in black and white and acted decisively and punitively to right wrongs. He is very attentive and polite and tends to be cooperative and helpful, but is sometimes seen as nosy or interfering.
Sho dedicates himself to the ways of the Force and seeks perfection both in mind and body. He pushes himself to learn more of the teachings of the Force and to become an instrument of that direction.
Sho's father has instilled in him a pride. Pride of maintaining order, pride to be one of the first in line to attend the training of the new Kensae Corps, and pride to do his best. Sho takes that to heart and strives to be the best. Unfortunately, being offworld resulted in a bad infection soon after he left. He pushed himself (almost to death) to keep up his training. He finally recovered, but his strength never returned. As a result, Sho followed other pursuits such as the mental aspects of the Force, as well as avenues less reliant on strength, such as flying.
Background Addition - Historical Excerpt:
"I suggest you put your weapons away," Sho Larn said, his words rasping through his gas mask. The goggles he wore tinted the world a darker color. He could feel the feral heat of his towering Wookiee instructor, Tyvokka, at his back. They were surrounded by Trandoshan slavers, fresh from their latest haul of Wookiee slaves. "He says that if you do, no harm will be done to you, and you will be judged fairly by the Empire."
There was no sound other than hissing laughter and the sad, forlorn moaning of Wookiee slaves in their cages far below.
Sho could feel the hatred and rage of his master boiling in him like a river of lava. With what felt like a great struggle, Tyvokka subverted that hate, drowned it in a river of calmness and oneness with the Force.
"Sho, my student," he said in a low rumble of the Shyriiwook language. "Remember what I taught you. Strike first. Strike fast. Strike hard. With the speed and strength of the noble Vornskr."
Sho nodded. The Force closed in around him, and as the closest slaver lifted his blaster to fire, the Kel Dor warrior ignited his lightsaber.
Tyvokka has instructed Sho Larn in the first kata of Form VII, the Way of the Vornskr. This aggressive lightsaber form will one day be refined into the most dangerous form (to the opponent as well as to the user, as it dances perilously close to the Dark Side) of Vaapad.
