Keaton puts his back against the wall and slides down to the floor. He starts to tear up a little and shake like one does after the adrenaline is still working it's way out of his system. He is a bag of emotions, and very happy to see everyone is going to be fine. He finds a cave stone and hurls it at the headless body of the necromancer.
Bastard.
He takes a few minutes to himself to regain a clear head. After the minutes pass Keaton stands back up, refocused.
Where is his spellbook? Maybe there is a note about this glowing thing in it.
Keaton will start looking for the spell book and any other things of interest.

Vaneros studies the wand that lies now in his hands. He remembers that the necromancer used the words "HoH vagh" to send 5 of the glowing missiles from its tip. Vaneros knew this was a uncommon magical item and it would take some study to figure out everything it could do.

After composing himself Keaton searches the body of the necromancer for spell components and a spellbook. He does find a spell component pouch but its contents are limited to just a few items and is almost empty. No spellbook can be found on the necromancer. In his madness he probably no longer used one and just used the same set of spells every day, day in and day out. The eye and the orb still glowed in the center of the room.
Behind the draperies around the walls are niches where the necromancer kept his food, drink, supplies, clothes, and bedding, as well as 165 sp, 78 gp and four polished jet gems (50 gp each).
As Keaton is gathering up the coins and gems the body of the necromancer suddenly erupts into a black flame. The flame dwindles to nothing with a plaintive wail and vanishes. When it does so the sigil of the eye above the orb winks out of existence as well leaving only the glowing orb behind.
Healers Kits can be used to stabilize a dying creature without a medicine check. Herbalism kits are for making potions. There is also a feat that will let you heal hitpoints when using a healers kit as well.
Added to party treasure 165 sp, 78 gp and four polished jet gems (50 gp each).

Keaton states the obvious as he continues to gather the goods into a sack. He takes special care to take the mage's spell components to play with them later.

She turns to Molok: "I could retrieve my mule to help with carrying. Should we take that thing with us? It looks important.", she points at the glowing orb.

Keaton studies the glowing purplish sphere in the center of the cave. It stands on a pedestal fashioned of severed arms arranged to clutch one another in a cone. Cradled in the uppermost hands is the glowing crystal sphere. Without touching it he investigates it further. The small purplish glowing sphere is made of thick glass and would take up 1 encumbrance slot if carried. The glowing orb did not want to give up its secrets. The etching on the glass was in an unfamiliar language to Keaton and he knew the item would have to be removed and studied in closer detail over a rest period to try and determine more about it. He did know this was a uncommon item.

Referencing the orb as the light gets snuffed out.
I know we are gathering the wounded and all, but I want to go look at those two chests we accidentally covered with rocks. If there is more plunder I do not want it falling into the hands of any of the necromancer's minions we may of missed. Anyone wish to accompany me?
Keaton will assist with moving the gear of the injured to the entrance of the cave, or where he gets directed.
He seems like he is trying to get at least one person to go down the hallway with him.

Some of the group made their way around to where the chest covered with rocks were located and began to dig them out. Upon completion of their work they found the iron chest to be empty of all contents.
The group then made their way outside the cave and back into the fresh open air. There they would wait on their unconscious friends to recover and wake or for help to show up from town.
Ok everyone will get a short rest here. If you are awake then you can burn a hitdice if you have one available still. If you are not awake then you will have to wait until you wake up to use a short rest. One person that the group selects can make a Arcana Check on one of the magic items. There are two items so it needs to be a different person for each. Considering that they will have assistance from the others these checks can be made with advantage. The DC is 15 to learn more about the items.

As the group leaves the cave behind, Vaneros feels relieved.
"We really did it and we'll all live to tell the tale, " he says to no one in particular, a wide smile on his face. "I hope you write a ballad about this Cade."
He sits down in their makeshift camp and starts examining the strange orb he picked up. At first, the markings don't seem to make much sense.
"I will need a bit of time to figure this one out. Keaton, would you like to take a look at the wand in the meantime?"

Nothing was found in those chests. The monster had left them empty as bait for the trap.

As the group waited for the unconscious companions to awake, Vaneors and Keaton studied the two magical items that they had found but couldn't make sense of their uses other than both noting that the arcane symbols written on each was matched by glyphs and symbols written in Abyssal. It would take further study at another time to determine exactly what they were.
Ember was the first to awaken from her injuries. About an hour after the group had gotten outside the cave and Narnel woke up 2 hours after Ember.
It was now just a few minutes from midnight and the group needed to make a decision if they wanted to go ahead and camp (long rest) now and wait for the sun to come up or if they wanted to risk exploring more before they rested.

I say we stay in the entrance way, few people awake in shifts. We do not know if there is anything else down here, and well, we have it trapped if so. The entrance, or just outside the entrance, could be alright? Maybe the breeze could Ir out some of the stunk of death.

The group sets up camp just outside the cave entrance and starts a small fire to stave off the nightly chill in the valley. Kenna and Molok round up some berries and a rabbit or two for the group as they take shifts and try to get some sleep and await any help that may come. It is an uneasy rest but rest it is. Vaneros and Keaton still can not come to terms with what the items in their possession actually do so they also join the others in rest.
As morning comes and the group begins to wake and move about they suddenly hear a shout from up the hill as they can see Lymmura from the Allfaith's Shrine and one of the constables men heading down the hill toward them. Keaton's bird leads the way for them as they make their way to the group.
Lymmura says "Sorry there isn't more of us. The constable only could spare one man and I volunteered to come when I got your message. I brought plenty of holy water and can help heal the injured if necessary." she then goes around making sure all the injured are tended to and gets them back on their feet.
The next couple hours are spent exploring the remaining part of the cave that had not been explored before. The chamber that was left held dozens of bodies in various states of decomposition. Almost as if it was a stockpile of bodies just waiting to be animated by the now deceased necromancer. Other than that the cave was now clear.
Lymmura said she would stay and consecrate the grounds, they would place all the corpses in the small cave with the other ones and try to seal it off with rocks as a permanent burial chamber. The constable's man will stay and help.
At this point she ask if the group would like to stay and help or if they would like to report back to town to let the constable know what was going on.

Seeing the group volunteer to assist everyone begins to move bodies toward the small cave as Lymmura went about the ritual of consecrating the entire cave. Chanting and burning incense and sprinkling holy water over everything. The black goo upon the creatures and the ground would sizzle and dry up upon contact with the priest's blessed liquid. When all the bodies was in place Lymmura addressed Ember directly as she emptied her last vial of holy water on the corpses.
She then turns her attention again to Ember "Now my pretty lady, why any of the cloth can bless water to make it holy. Here let me go over the process with you in case you find yourself in a pinch and you need to make some."
She then removes a small pouch from her belt. "What we have here is 25gp worth of powdered silver. Also useful against lycans as well as some ghost and evil spirits. The powder can be put over a blade or a few arrows and applied to a fire to make the edge temporarily silver for a single hit. But we can also use it to bless the water. If you do not have any powdered silver and there is no blacksmith shop, church or shrine around then you can file some from coins if you have the time and a good file. Or you can do it alchemically with a alchemy set. Subject the coins to a chemical reaction whose product is brittle, crush up the product into a fine powder, then subject it to another reaction which leaves behind silver metal which will now be in the form of a powder. Anyway just pray over the powder and ask for a blessing for no less than one hour. Once done you can pour the powder into a flask of water and shake and then you have holy water. Easy huh."
She then lays a hand on the genasi's shoulder "Powdered Silver! I never leave home without it." she says as she chuckles.
It also cost 1 first level spell slot at the end of the hour ritual. No specific spell it just uses a first level slot.
"Now if you ever have to make the powder from coin then that is another issue, it would take two hundred and fifty silver coins to equal enough powdered silver for the ritual. You see most of the filler elements of our silver coins needs to be burned away to just get at the true silver. First you want to either use a alchemical process or fire to melt away the impurities but be careful or you will melt away the silver too. Low heat, just enough to make the silver coins begin to go liquid. The liquid will be the true silver and what has not melted will be the heavier filler metals that need to be discarded. Then you want to pour the real silver into a block form for easy filing. You will be surprised how little true silver you get out of that many coins. Then once the block has cooled you can file it rather easily. The whole process can be done in about four hours or so. But much easier if you just buy the stuff already powdered." she again chuckles while trying to make light of the situation at hand.
Has Keaton approaches to ask questions Lymmura turns her attention to the approaching man but not before giving Ember a sly little wink. As Keaton ask about people being reported missing Lymmura says "Can't say that we have heard of any. From the advanced decomposition of most of the bodies here I would say that this necromancer must have been here for quite a while. It would have took years to amass that many bodies from travelers on the road without raising suspicion. Either that or he was paying someone to dig up graves from somewhere and bring them to him. Did you get a chance to question him before his .... sudden passing?" she inquires.
After Keaton draws the symbol of the eye on the ground Lymmura quickly uses her foot to erase the symbol. "That is the symbol of the Elder Elemental Eye. I don't know much about it but it pertained to a cult long ago. As it is taught to us as part of history, the Cult of the Elder Elemental Eye was dedicated to bringing the evil god Tharizdun, an interloper god from the Oerth universe who was imprisoned in the Abyss, into Faerûn. The cult was related to the Church of All Tomorrows, an Oghman heresy that believed its followers should be able to foresee the future. Worshipers of the Elder Elemental Eye envision a future where the world has been consumed utterly by elemental chaos, floods, earthquakes, lava, and destructive winds destroying civilization until only the faithful survive. I thought this cult all but extinct and the evil god Tharizdun, which is better known as the Elder Elemental God was trapped in the Demiplane of Imprisonment. But again these are just stories in books. But never the less a part of our worlds history."
She quickly turns everyone's attention back to the task at hand and instructs everyone to start bringing rocks and small boulders to seal the cave with the bodies. Since the conversation with Keaton she seems to work at a much quicker pace now and acts as if on edge. When asked about it she simply says "You wouldn't want to get a evil gods attention now would you? It is best we finish our business here and leave this place. Never to return."
A few hours later the task is done.

Lady, might this be considered an Elemental node of power? If so, I have visions that show the destruction of which you speak. I simply know that I must destroy the Elemental nodes near Red Larch.

Keaton looks visibly uncomfortable after hearing the tale of Tharizdun, the evil god of earth quakes, flooding, and death to the world. He up until that point had dodged any physical labor assisting with the cave. But after that tale he has extra spring in his step and appears to be more lively than most in the efforts to lug rocks to the entrance to seal this den of evil for all times. He does not even pout about the blisters he recieved at the end of the day from the manual labor.

Ember listens carefully to Lymurra's instructions and can be heard muttering the process to herself as she moves rocks to block off the caves.
With the job complete Ember dusts herself off. " We should get back to town, Let the constable know what happened here and report back to Kaylessa. "

Lymmura addresses Narnel's question about a node of power "I am afraid I do not understand your question. I am no elementalist so I could not tell you of any nodes of power or if they even exist and I have certainly not heard of any such thing around Red Larch. But I can assure you if we were at such a node then we probably.... wait."
The priestess seems to try and collect her thoughts before continuing "Before I left Red Larch this morning. There was a man checking in to the inn. A fellow that had a symbol on his robes. The elemental symbol of earth."
As she is talking with Narnel clouds suddenly begin to form at a rapid pace in the sky. The sky growing dark very quickly and the first bolt of lighting streaks across the sky. The sky was perfectly clear just a moment ago.
Looking up Lymmura continues "This isn't a ordinary storm. Quickly lets get everything on the wagon and get back to Red Larch. With your visions of coming destruction Narnel the man I saw in Red Larch with the elemental symbol. It can't be good news for the town."
She then quickly begins to help load what needs to be loaded in the wagon. "We must make haste! May the gods be with us!"

Molok walks behind the rest of the group. The sack with the necromancer's head swings with each step the goliath takes. The grim look on his face reveals nothing of what the man could be thinking, but it also does not encourage conversation.

As the group began their journey back toward Red Larch the unnatural storm overhead seemed not to be moving and not to be letting up. The almost constant streaks of lighting taking on a purplish hew and the rains coming down in a deluge made the travel difficult at best. Ember's mule was constantly upset by the storm and had to be constantly comforted to keep from bolting. Visibility was almost zero as the group found it hard even to keep sight of each other in the strange storm. The cold rain stinging like a thousand ants upon their faces.
Lymmura tried to keep conversation going to keep everyone's mind off the storm and decided that the best way to do so at the moment was by teaching everyone about healing potions and how to make them. The group huddled close together both to hear the priestess words as well as to keep sight of each other.
"As for healing potions, most temples and shrines have those as well. Fifty gold per flask. But I guess while we are discussing creating stuff they are fairly easy to make as well and don't listen to the common folk that tell you it takes ten days to make one." she laughs before continuing. Trying her best to wipe the water from her eyes.
"Well you see, it might take ten days for a novice. But if you are proficient with a Herbalism Kit and have one then the ingredients grow quite common around these parts. You will need some Monarch butterfly wings and some Blisterwort mushrooms. The butterflies are commonly found all over and the Blisterwart grows only in caves. Once you have that you will need a alchemical base worth twenty five gold. Good distilled alcohol does the trick nicely. With that and about two days of downtime to work with it then you have a finished potion. Not the ten days that some want you to believe. Amateurs." she says.
"You could even do it over four days of traveling or adventuring if you worked on it at times of rest. However I would not advise it in our current situation." she chimes in.
During the trip anyone that wants to can make a Arcana check to identify the wand or the globe except for the two that have already tried they will need to wait 24 hours before trying again. The DC is 15 and anyone can try even if you are not proficient. Just use your Intelligence modifier for your roll.
