Crain Tresselmore |

Init. 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17
Crain's eyes bulge when he sees the object of his hatred. "Remember me?! I'm coming to kill you, Lamm!"
Crain draws his sword and begins moving toward Lamm, trying to get through before the crocodile recovers and takes a hunk out of him.

Cassiel Hawke |

Initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Cassiel's eyes widen when Crain once again charges in.
"Crain, wait--oh, hells..."
He readies his scimitar and goes after Crain, hoping to catch up to him before he gets himself killed.

Xavice Hawklight |

Before going down Xavice will drink the potion of cure light wounds.
Dm please roll you seem to have better luck then me
after the potion he rushes downstairs. Seeing Lamm "You" he manages to get out in rage, however noticing that Crain and Cassiel are going after him Xavice does the smart thing and attacks the crocodile
Initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Ylenna |

"Lamm!" Ylenna shouts in rage, her eyes flaring. "Your kidnapping days are DONE!"
She points her finger and fires off a blistering ray at Lamm. In her angler, it's not able to hit him, and leaves a small burnt spot on the wall near him.
Using her bloodine power Fire Ray. Ranged touch attack. I haven't assumed any cover or penalty for firing into melee; assess those if necessary.
Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Fire damage if hits: 1d6 ⇒ 1
...what a crappy roll...

DireMerc |

Cedric: 20
Crain: 17

Kira:init: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Gaedren Lamm: init: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
Gaedren is first then you.
-----------------------------------------------------
Gaedren reloads his crossbow and hold his shot until he has a clear shot at someone. He will fire at cedric when he moves up managing a glancing blow.
Shoot at cedric: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 241d8 ⇒ 2

Xavice hops down into the central pit and engages the crocodile but misses.
-----------------------------------------------------
Kira attacks with her bow but misses.
-----------------------------------------------------
Cassiel moves up and tries to reach Lamm. (double move)
-----------------------------------------------------
Gaedren reloads and fires again at Cedric but this time his shot is off.
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 131d8 ⇒ 1
The crocodile attacks Xavice but he blocks with his shield.
attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 141d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
You can all post again in any order.

Ylenna |

Ylenna moves down the stairs and forward so she has a clear shot at Lamm. When she's got it, she says, "Burn, you monster!" before pointing her finger and shooting another firey ray at him.
Fire Ray bloodline power. I'm assuming no cover, but that Lamm is now in melee so she has to take a -4 for that.
Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (17) - 2 = 15
Damage if hits: 1d6 ⇒ 3

Crain Tresselmore |

"Move out of the way, Cedric! I can't get to him! Let me take him...you go help with the alligator.". Crain moves as close as he can to Lamm, waiting on an opportunity to get a strike in.

Crain Tresselmore |

Cedric is first in initiative and moved up to Lamm. There's nowhere I can move to through him, unless I'm looking at the map, incorrectly.

Cassiel Hawke |

Round 1: Actions
Double Move Action: Move next to Xavice
Seeing the old man being targeted by Cedric & Crain, Cassiel instead circles back around to the two women and leaps to Xavice's aid.
As long as Lamm is stopped, I don't care who does it.
"Need some help?" He asks as he comes up behind Xavice.

Crain Tresselmore |

Didnt know I could attack around that hard corner...awesome!
Crain sees an opening and moves so he can take a swing at Lamm. Doing so, he flies completely off the handle.
Attack 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 + 2 = 24
Damage 1d10 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 3 + 2 = 11
Possible crit 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 + 2 = 13
Possible crit damage 1d10 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 3 + 2 = 12
Free action to rage. Move then standard to attack. Round one of rage. AC is 12.

-----------------------------------------------------
Cedric moves up and attacks Lamm stabbing him with his shortsword leaving a severe bleeding wound in his stomach.
-----------------------------------------------------
Crain moves up and tries to reach Lamm he is restricted in his movement he moves up and attacks with the corner impeding him, Cedric ducks as Crain makes a wide swing and slices Gaedren across the chest.
-----------------------------------------------------
Ylenna launches a fiery bolt at Lamm and hits him in the leg leaving a mild burn.
-----------------------------------------------------
Xavice attacks the crocodile but it's trashing about too much and he fails to connect.
-----------------------------------------------------
Kira attacks with her bow but misses.
-----------------------------------------------------
Cassiel turns around and joins Xavice in the pit.
You can go around Xavice by walking in the shallow water but it's difficult terrain
-----------------------------------------------------
Gaedren stumbles holding a hand to his wounded chest. "If only I was a bit younger...Guess this is it" he mumbles falling backwards but it was a feint even as he held his wound his other hand went for a hidden dagger at his back that he flings at Cedric as he jumps backwards.
Feint: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (14) + 14 = 28
attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 181d4 - 3 ⇒ (3) - 3 = 02d6 ⇒ (2, 6) = 8
The dagger was aimed for Cedric's throat and just barely missed it's mark but still it dug deep into Cedric's shoulder. As he lands Gaedren eye go wide in surprise as blood gushes out of his two major wounds. He cough and sputters and finally collapses, for real this time.
He was at 0, his attack caused him to drop to -1
The croc attacks Xavice but isn't able to get past his shield.
attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 131d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
-----------------------------------------------------
Your turn again.

Cassiel Hawke |

Round 2: Actions
Move Action: Move next to Xavice
Standard Action: Swing at the gator!
If Xavice doesn't kill the gator...
Cassiel swings his scimitar at the scaly beast, hoping to at least give Xavice a chance to injure it.
Attack!: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Damage (If Successful): 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Cedric Thargayrian |

Taken by complete surprise by the move Cedric barely managed to get his throat out of the way but the deep and shallow wound on his shoulder left him grievously wounded Any medic?
delay action posting for the moment in hope someone will heal cedric..

Crain Tresselmore |

Crain continues his rage, moving toward the crocodile to lend support to his squad.
Attack 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 4 + 2 = 11
Damage 1d10 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 3 + 2 = 10

Ylenna |

Seeing the gator attacking her companions, Ylenna turns her attention to it. Holding out her hands, her eyes briefly flare red as another firey ray shoots out of her hand towards the croc, but it misses badly, sizzling into the water.
Can you put the encounter map in Campaign Info, so that it's easier to locate? I'm not sure if the croc has cover from Ylenna's attack or not, so I've assumed not. However, I have subtracted -4 assuming that the croc is in melee.
Ranged touch attack: 1d202 ⇒ 86
Damage if hits: 1d6 ⇒ 1
OOPS! Typo. Here's the real attack roll:
Ranged touch attack: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (6) - 2 = 4

DireMerc |

The encounter map is posted in my google docs the link is at the top
The gator seems to be rather difficult to hit and it avoids nearly every attack.
(Xavice and Crain are flanking the gator)
The gator attack Xavice once more finaly getting past his defense and clamping down with it's powerful jaws and it isn't letting go.
attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 231d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
grapple: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
Ac 15 on the gator, 12 hp left.
Your turn again.

Crain Tresselmore |

Happy to flank the crocodile, Crain swings again, still raging at the beast.
Attack 1d20 + 4 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 4 + 2 + 2 = 18
Damage 1d10 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 3 + 2 = 9

Cassiel Hawke |

Round 3: Actions
Standard Action: Swing at the gator again!
Cassiel raises his scimitar and brings it down on the gator again.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Cedric Thargayrian |

Cedric will put his weapon away and apply pressure on his wound.
Well i believe we go what we all came for. I won't be of much help so i'll gently wait for you to completely finish the exploration of this place to see if there are any thing of interest.

Crain Tresselmore |

"who in their right minds would heal that monster? Let's get some chains and toss him in the drink here! Easy peasy and it's done. With his money, he will find a way out, if charged.". Crain sits down, pulls a goblet, and pours a long draw from his gallon of ale into it, taking a sip.
"Ah, anyone else want a pull of the good stuff? Well, maybe not the good stuff, but it isn't the worst stuff, either."

Crain Tresselmore |

Crain nods, but doesn't have another glass. He drains his cup in one large pull, pours another dink into it, and passes the same cup to Xavice. "Drink up...good for what ails you. It'll put a bit of hair on your chest, too!"
"So how about the rest of you? Turn around and let me and the lad do what needs to be done."

Cassiel Hawke |

"No."
Cassiel steps up from the pit and walks over to Lamm's body, next to Kira.
"We'll take his money and leave him for the Guard. He's beaten and broken; the children that he kidnapped are free of him." His eyes narrow. "I made a promise that I would see him brought to justice. Killing him like this isn't it."
He turns to face Crain. "I know, I know. I'm not with the Guard anymore. But I'm still a paladin of the Dawnflower. And I believe that the law is a process that can be bent, but never broken."

Crain Tresselmore |

"Okay, you go upstairs and look through all of Lamm's belongings, and collect them for us. I'll handle things down here for you. Be sure you bring back all the good stuff to us"

DireMerc |

The treasures include a narrow teak cigar case inlaid with tiny bits of jade worth 25 gp, a 2-pound gold ingot worth 100 gp bearing the Cheliax coat of arms, a miniature gold crown worth 350 gp, a fist-sized scrimshaw carving of a kraken with garnets for eyes worth 200 gp, a silver ring worth 150 gp bearing the inscription. For Emmah—the light in my nights, a highly realistic and highly scandalous ivory figurine of two entwined succubi worth 450 gp, a masterwork shuriken, an adamantine arrowhead, an abalone-shell holy symbol of Shelyn worth 300 gp, a tiny glass tube containing a dose of oil of keen edge, an obsidian wand of magic missile (23 charges), a crystalline vial (itself worth 50 gp) containing a dose of silversheen, and a bejeweled brooch with a broken clasp. Even to an untrained eye, this brooch is obviously the most valuable object in the entire collection. The circular gold brooch depicts a pseudodragon and an imp coiled around each other in an almost yin-yang pattern. The pseudodragon's eye is an amethyst, while the imp’s eye is an emerald.
One last box remains and there is a foul smell coming from it. You open it and find a severed head and a tarot deck. The head while decomposed is no doubt the woman Zellara that you spoke to before!

Cassiel Hawke |

Cassiel picks up the ring.
For Emmah--the light in my nights.
A flash of pain crosses his face. I insisted on getting that engraved for her. She told me it was silly, but she liked it.
He holds onto the ring and passes up the remaining treasures, aside from the brooch. It looked pretty; odds are it was worth quite a bit. There was a hatbox--
--the contents of which cause his eyes to widen in a mix of surprise and revulsion. Flies buzz about Zellara's head, some landing and making a mess of the crude makeup used to make her look fresh.
"Oh. That's new." Is all he can say. It's obvious from his tone that he's very disturbed by this.

Ylenna |

Ylenna turns a little green when she sees the head. "Wait... we were just there, talking to her. This head... well, heck, I don't know how to judge, but it looks like it's been dead far to long for that. What's going on here?"
Ylenna can use and will take the Wand of Magic Missile if nobody else wants it.

Xavice Hawklight |

Xavice takes the cup and drinks it all in one swig, his face then makes a grimace and gives the cup back to Crain "you can have the rest, I haven't drank before and I don't think I'm gonna start now"
Moving up towards Ylenna and Cassiel, Xavice looks at the head "looks like we've been tricked, that's what's going on here. Obviously it wasn't her we were talking to back there"
The turning towards Cassiel "what if we trow him to the sharks, would that be bending the law?"

Crain Tresselmore |

"Now that young lady whose head is in the box, sent me to find you all not more than a half hour or so ago. And she was looking fine, then. Maybe she has a twin?"

Cedric Thargayrian |

I highly doubt that. I think we saw a ghost of the woman. Someone we couldn't leave and pass on before this task was completed. Can we be leaving here now and discuss all that we found tomorrow i am not going to last all that much longer he says still hanging on just by sheer will

Kira Vanderhoff |

While the discussion is still hot about Lamm she looks to the others "If he dies here, how to all the others who have been wronged claim justice? There may be things he knows that can help to ease the suffering of others. I could care less whether he lives or dies, but for the good of the city and those citizens who have been wronged he should be brought to proper justice. I am sure we are not the only ones he has wronged."
After finding the head "I knew she was holding something back, being dead and some appirition would definitely qualify as something she was holding back." She shrugs though "In either case it got us here to deal with this. Perhaps we can help her rest, if she is in fact a ghost by returning the head and cards to her place?"

Cassiel Hawke |

"Here's a better question: is that important right now?" Cassiel speaks up, shaking off his shock. "It's not like we wouldn't have pursued Lamm ourselves anyway."
"what if we trow him to the sharks, would that be bending the law?"
"Xavice, if we throw Lamm into the harbour, we'll likely still be charged with murder. I mean, you can't exactly charge seawater or a shark with murder, can you?" Cassiel gives Xavice a disapproving look.
His face immediately pales. "Wait--the kids. The kids are going to where we first met Zellara. Everyone, grab what loot you can carry and let's get going; if someone's at 3 Lancet Street with intent to harm the children..."
Does anyone have any potions or the like with which to heal Cedric?
