The king is dead! In the Varisian port city of Korvosa, the death of a monarch leads to chaos, and only a small group of heroes can hope to save the city from its own darkest tendencies.

Casting: When casting a spell defensivly if you fail you do not automaticly lose the spell, rather you provoke an attack as you normally would for not casting defensive. If you are hit you must make a concentration check dc 10+damage taken if you fail this check you lose the spell.
Rolls:
Many rolls will be handled by the GM in secret.(don't worry, I don't fudge.)
Any result that can influence the character behavior will not be rolled open.
Rolls that will be handled by the GM:
Perception
Sense Motive.
if you make the check I will send you a pm or make a post and put it in a spoiler depending on the situation.
Sometimes I will roll Initiative others I will ask you to roll depending on the situation. In some situation (rarely) I will bypass init entirely and have you all go first and enemies second or have enemies go first and you all go after.
Combat rules:
I'm a fair GM, I dont roll combat in secret, I don't change results, I don't ignore bad calls from the characters.
Sometimes, character dies, but I'm not a player killer, if I think that an encounter will be easy handled, when it should be more challenging, I will make it a more challenging, if the party it's not prepared to face something, I will drop hints, if they insist... well killing one or two players never made me lack sleep...
Actions:
I'm a GM that do not punish the character for trying something new or cool, or even strange. Visual appealing actions are encouraged, the dc will of course depend on what are you trying, but you can try! If what you want to do is wicked cool, I can even bend the game mechanics to allow it! The most importat part is: You are villains. Villains are smart, resourceful and have style! Have you ever seen a memorable villain that could just swing his sword and do nothing more?
Posting Rate
If it could be done, I expect 1/day posting, if you can post more, it will really good.
During weekend, this rule does not apply. If you are able to post, great! But dont stress over this, everyone need some time to rest (In my case, I need time to play and DM :D on my tabletop games).
Level up
Aside from character creation, when you level up, if you want something not from core rulebook, you'll need to search it inside the game. basicly what you need to do is just show in game your character is searching for that knowledge. This rule is not meant to prohibit anything, I just don't like something like this: "Character always as a full caster, never picked up a sword in his entire life, and then he gain a new level and says: Master, I'll level up as a fighter now..."
"Here's another spell for you, traitors!" Ylenna says viciously as she holds out her hands and shoots another cone of flame past Cassiel and into the guards in front of her. After that, she takes a five foot step to the right, putting her behind Cassiel.

Crain swings his flail, again trying to protect the guards. "Lay down your swords, or my next swing will be more than a simple warning!". He steps back after taking the swing, listening to Cedric's advice.
The guard hit by Cedric goes down (unconscious and bleeding out)
One of the guards in the back drops his crossbow and takes his sword and moves up to replace the fallen guard. [b]"I'll get you for that![/dice]
He manages to bypass Cedric's defense and jab him.
The other guard takes another swing at Cassiel and the one in the back reloads and shoots again but the bolt wasn't properly places and it just flies up and sticks into the ceiling.

Cassiel lets Cedric go on his way upstairs before he turns to the remaining 'guard'.
"So, mind telling me where you were getting all this meat from? And who put this thought into Verik's head?" Cassiel asks, his head tilted to one side. "I won't deny that what you're doing here is charity, but I have to wonder if there's more to it than I think."
"And if you can explain things to me, odds are you'll come out of this better than your buddies here."
"We just giving away the meat that was here when we took this place. We haven't brought in any new meat." he replies.
As Cedric makes his way up the stairs he notices a clear liquid slowly running down the stairs. As you climb up you see it's flowing out from under a door at the top of the stairs.

"Then I suppose you won't mind if I have a look around." Cassiel says, nodding at the rest of the team to follow Cedric. He grabs the guard by the arm and drags him back into the abattoir. He takes a look around, sweeping the room for anything out of the ordinary.
"You say all the meat you got was here?" He asks.

"You sure about this? Me and these boys are just thugs but Verik is the real deal catching him wont be easy." says the guard
Cedric goes up and barges into the room upstairs. A single large desk stands in the eastern part of this large office, transformed into a makeshift bed by a bedroll and several blankets and pillows. A table and three chairs sit to the west; several papers lie strewn over the table’s surface and a chamberpot sits under it. One of the papers is pinned to the
tabletop by a dagger. You find the floor soaking wet from liquid coming out of a barrel that has a hole in it's side. Verik is sitting on the ledge of a window and he waves goodbye as he tosses a lantern into the room and jumps out the window.
As the lantern breaks apart the lantern oil covering the ground burst into flames burning Cedric who's standing in it. The others would still be in the stairs the fire doesn't quite reach there although the first few steps would be on fire.
fire damage:2d6 ⇒ (1, 3) = 4 reflex dc 15 for half.
You also need to make a new save each round you stay in the room.
"Get the paper that was daggered to the table!" Ylenna cries... and then tries to get it herself. She speaks the words of a cantrip, and tries to lift the dagger and note and bring it to her before the fire can get it.
So far Crain went after him and You and Ylenna stayed to save what you could from the fire. I was waiting to see what Cassiel was doing but it has been too long. Will bot him until he returns.
Cassiel runs out to join Crain. Kira gets to work trying to drag the unconscious guards outside.
Crain goes down and gets into the alley and he spots Verik running down the alley to find the direction he was running is a dead end. Frustrated Verik seems to consider climbing it and finally just turn around swinging his glaive to display his skill with the weapon and he takes a defensive stance.
"I assume I cant convince you to just let me go? he says.
The alley is only 5 feet wide so only a single person can fight him at once.
Is Ylenna still upstairs rescuing stuff, or does she say Verik say this and is she close enough to respond? (I'm thinking of trying "Charm Person" to make him friendly. It'll have a hard time working if any of us attack him, of course....)

"It ain't that kind of party, Verik. Throw down the blade, and come with me,,and we work this out. If you refuse, I'm going to bust your head, and drag you there.". Crain moves forward and swings his flail.

Cassiel glares at the deserter, one hand on the collar of the surrendered guard. This is a bad idea and a half--Crain's going to reduce him to a pile of giblets.
"Last chance, Verik. We're offering to bring you back to Field Marshal Kroft in one piece. I'd rather not have to do this--I forgot to bring enough bags for all your bits once Crain's done with you." He growls.

Even HE sounds disgusted that he even went so far as to do that. I'm a PALADIN. I shouldn't be making these sorts of threats!
Crain lands a heavy blow and Verik responds by trowing a dagger. At first it seems to miss but it turns around in mid-air and tries to stabs Crain in the back. He just barely avoids it but it seems like the dagger is coming around for another go. In the meantime Cassiel's comments seem to have gone unnoticed by Verik.

Cassiel curses under his breath as the fire in the building gets worse.
"Ylenna! Hold onto him!" He hands the guard off to her and starts running back to the building. "Kira! Kira! Help me put the fire out! Cedric, get Crain's back!"
What sort of check would I need to make to start putting out fires?

"If that godsforsaken dagger slices me again, it's your head, Verik, surrender or no," Crain screams as the blade nicks him again. He was a mess, bruised and bleeding everywhere.
