you walk by the door you came from, and you could have sworn you left it open, but it seems closed, and you can try and open it, but whatever mechanism its on, is resisting it
as you travel down the stairs some, you notice that its only 5 steps, before going to the floor, and you see stairs going up, another 5 steps,

is a tall wooden statue of Kassen grasping a gigantic wooden

Fundir carefully approaches the statue, wary of any traps. Peering through the chamber at the statue, he briefly bows his head towards it as he comments to his companions. "Banners to live by. Similar to my own creed.."

you all have been asked to check on a group that has been away for longer then what the small village has known it to take, you managed your way on to the tomb, however you notice skeletons and dead corpses lying about, and the sounds of combat coming somewhere from the south west side of your location, the lighting is dark except for the doorway area, unless stated otherwise

"Do you all hear that? Sounds like a fight over coming from over there. We should go and check it out, might be the folks we're looking for . . ."
As he speaks, his hand drops to one of the daggers sheathed at his side, the other goes to the buckle of his back pack strap, ready to open it and drop the bag.
During the journey over, Arol would have introduced himself to his companions as Arol Halfling. He's stands about 3 feet tall, looks to weigh about 35 pounds, wearing comfortable looking travelers attire in plain bland colors of grey and brown, with a couple daggers and a small mace visible sheathed/ hanging from his belt. You may also have noticed that he seemed to have no trouble keeping pace with the larger folks despite his small stature

"Let's get going. If it's not the people we are looking for, it might be a fun fight to watch." She hurries along as fast as her gnome legs will carry her sling in one hand and stone in another.
Fen is a gnome with green hair and purple eyes. Her eyes have starbursts in them like the stars in the night sky. She looks sickly.

"Fun?" A flash of confusion passes over the soft eleven features. "Regardless, it seems relevant. Let's go." He readies his longbow as you proceed.
Flaern seems to be a walking reference book, but there's an occaisional twinkle in his eye and a willingness to engage in minor pranks that suggests he can be more fun than the more formal first impression.

Arol steps through the doorway. "Hmmmm. I guess I'm the only one here who can't see so well in the dark. . ."
He reaches into his backpack and fumbles for a brief moment. "Ah. There we go." and produces a torch from inside the bag.
Setting it down, he retrieves his flint and steel from a pocket, and swiftly sparks the torch into life.
Picking up the flaming torch, he settles his gear back into place and placing a hand on the handle of one of the daggers he follows after the others.
GM: I'm assuming when you said "dark" you meant full darkness and reacting accordingly. If the conditions are not full darkness, and just dim light he'd hold off on the light source until absolutely needed.
Also, this is what I get for playing a character without darkvision *grumbles* :)

Ecthelien, the Grey Elf, joins the others, rather stoic in nature. He shares little of his history but is eager to complete the mission and check on the missing allies.
Alas, they may still be in here. But by the destruction, finding them quickly may be prudent. Are any of you skilled in following tracks? Otherwise, listening for footsteps, screams or battle may be our only clue.
Echlelien will cast light upon his headband as the group looks for tracks.

Fen shakes her head. "Sorry I'm not good at tracking. We know the sounds are coming from that way. Right?" She waves in the opposite direction of the sounds. Lighting one of her sling bullets she waits to follow anyone who knows what direction to go in.

"It seems they headed this way." He stands and points toward the levers and the door, then starts moving in that direction.

As he begins to follow the tracks, Arol will make a small marks on the wall with piece of chalk to indicate the direction they came from.
"Just in case we get turned around." he says softly to no one in particular.

The elf keeps his bow ready, scanning the area looking for threats as the others focus on finding the correct path, with the sounds of combat still drifting through the air. "This seems the best choice, but I hope finding the road isn't enough of a delay to lose those we're trying to find."

The others act ahead of me so this may change or be unnecessary
As they approach the room where the combat sounds are coming from, Arol pauses to unsling his backpack, and set it down to the side of the hallway. He then draws a dagger from his belt, and creeps forward preparing to engage if need be. "Are these the folks we are looking for?"
- Move Action - unsling backpack and place on ground.
- Standard Action - Draw dagger.
- 5 foot step to move closer to room entry.
Apologies, on my tablet, and can't move myself on the map. It looks like we enter the room from the north/top? And the stairs are on either side of the landing above the creature?

Dagger in hand, Arol moves straight across the top of the landing to the far steps. Turning, he quickly heads down the flight of steps to the bottom, where he tucks into an angled low roll in an effort to get behind the statue without getting swatted by the monstrous thing.
Round 4 Actions:
Double move: 35 ft to bottom of steps, then diagonal of 5 ft for total of 40 out of 60 ft to where I placed my token.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19 to tumble into threatened area and avoid AOO.
Not sure if that's good enough, AC is 19 if not.
I believe that location counts as Flanking with Fundir for next turn.

the creature steps off the pedastal it was on, and as it does, the stairs everyone came down turns into slides, I need a reflex save from Flaern and attacks with one shield at the green haired one at the top
