Fen Kitlom
|
Fen calls out everything she knows about the construct, and then she pulls out her dagger, and stabs at it. She misses terribly.
Dagger: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Damage: 1d3 ⇒ 2
She'll take the AOO for pulling out a weapon right next to the enemy
Camred Symas
|
Camred notes the construct's wooden form and adjusts accordingly. A beam of fire leaps from her rod towards the statue.
Energy ray touch attack
Fire Ray: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17

Arol moves in behind the creature, and slices with his dagger towards the back of its leg.
Actions:
- 5 foot step one square to the right to Flanking position with Fundir (Location on the map updated to reflect this)
- Dagger: Slashing: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
(Add +2 to hit if creature can be flanked. Ignoring the potential Crit as creature is immune)
- Damage: 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
I believe creature is immune to sneak attacks/ precision damage as well, but if I'm wrong; Sneak Attack Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Fundir
|
Fundir take another step back from the monstrosity, dropping his mace as he does. Safe enough away from the creature, he claws for his bow and notches an arrow before seeming to deflate and diminish in size and stature. In place of the bulls horns and visage, Striped lines of fur sprout across his body as he draws the bow to his ear and releases the arrow.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 3 + 1 + 1 = 19
Dmg: 1d8 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 + 1 = 3

since Camred hasn't posted I'm moving this on a bit
Fundir hits, though it seems that the arrow only took off a piece of a splinter
Margat hits, and does a little more damage then Fundir did, though doesn't mean too much
the creature damaged by margat goes after her
Slam 1: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Slam 2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

Stepping over if needed, Ecthelien continues blasting with fire.
"Alas, this has to burn something ."

The young elf shifts further over, and flicks his whip out at the creature, trying to trip it.
Yeah, I'm not liking the odds, but I need to try to do something, and the small guy in front of me reports full HP in his status, so . . ..
CMB Trip: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (13) + 0 = 13
I'm betting 13 ain't enough. if it is, GREAT! If it ain't, and he goes for the counter-trip, I'm dropping the whip with no real thought or hesitation.
Fen Kitlom
|
Fen pulls an Alchemist Fire out of her bag and tosses it at the creature.
Ranged Touch: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Fire: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Aimed at one of the top two squares so allies don't get splash damage.
Arol Halfling
|
Seeing that the Gnome was surprisingly well aimed with her toss, Arol slips in behind the creature and again slices his dagger at the back of its leg.
This is like whittling away at a tree. I need to buy an axe if these things are going to be common out here. . .
Thinking quickly as he attacks, he speaks out to the others;"There's lamp oil in my bag by the door. We may need to grab it if this thing doesn't start breaking down soon!"
Actions:
- Five foot step one square to the right, updated on map
- Dagger Attack (Slashing): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
- Damage: 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Also GM, did my attack last round have any apparent effect? I could have sworn the "/slashing" in the DR is what bypasses it? I may be misremembering. Either way, going along IC that even if it did, it still wasn't enough to make a real mark on the beast
GM Sapphire Fox
|
Reflex: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8 fail
as everyone seems to have no issue trying to burn this beast of wood, the creature collapses and the shields drop free

Fundir
|
Fundir lowers his bow as the creature falls under the combined assaults of his team and the newcomers. Wearily, he pulls out a wand and begins tapping himself, while eyeing the new fighters appraisingly. As the golden glow of the healing powers fades away, he takes a deep relieved breath and turns to address them directly. "I have no idea who you are, but thank you for your help. Please, why are you here and what are your goals?" He is open, but cautious in his body language and demeanor. Turning to his companion, he continues "Margat, are you well? Do you need anything?"
CLW: 2d8 + 2 ⇒ (4, 5) + 2 = 11
Ecthelien the Grey

It is fortunate we arrived when we did. That wooden creature was of stout construction and arcane will.
The elf bows to the located Pathfinders.
Ecthelien at your service, specifically sent to aid you. Besides this pile of kindling, what else have you uncovered in this place?
Fundir
|
Fundir hesitates a moment while looking to Margat for support. His animal features continue their ever present shifting between aspects, settling on a falcons head as he peers intently at the newcomers again.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Deciding to trust the proclaimed "help", Fundir returns Ecthelien's bow."My name is Fundir, and this is Margat." the nagaji replies. "We have not found much. One survivor that says he was sent as part of a group to prepare this place for our mission.. and some traps that were obviously made so as not to hurt. The survivor spoke of undead rising up and killing the team, as well as taking a prisoner, I believe."
Arol Halfling
|
Stepping back from the smouldering remains of the creature, Arol sheathed his dagger, and looks up at the other Pathfinders.
"Well met folks. I'm Arol. Glad we arrived in time to help."
While the others are gathering themselves post combat, he proceeds to casually, but efficiently check out the room, looking for anything odd or of possible value.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26 (Add +1 to locate traps)
Ecthelien the Grey
|
"Fortune has united us. Where have thy visited and what is the plan or direction from here? Are you following a path or tracks or clues to this puzzle? ."
The elf lets his guard down once the threat stopped.
Fundir
|
After the introductions are made, Fundir moves towards the two other doors in the room and inspects them. He cocks his falcon shaped head at each door inspecting them visually and audibly.
Perception South: 1d20 + 10 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 10 + 4 = 18
Perception North: 1d20 + 10 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 10 + 4 = 18
1d2 ⇒ 1
After he examines both doors, he returns to the southern door and suggests "Should we try this one first before moving on to the next?"
I have taken the liberty of marking on the map what I think we have explored with large "X"'s.
Fen Kitlom
|
"I don't think anyone mentioned that we are also Pathfinders. You have been gone so long we were sent to find out what happened. The name is Fen. Nice to meet you all." Fen smiles and waves at Margat and Fundir.
Arol Halfling
|
Completing his search of the room, Arol retrieves his belongings, and walks over to where the others have gathered.
"When we are ready to move on, I should be able to do something about that locked door. Assuming that's where we need to be going?"
Disable Device: taking 20 if possible for 26.
If not possible:
Disable Device: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Guessing that won't do it.
Disable Device: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
If needed I'll try again.

to save you from failing, the other members do have a key that will work in the door
This small chamber has a table on the opposite side of the
room. On top of this table are a number of items, each with a
small note attached note being your name.
Fen - Wand of Cure light wounds (10 charges), and scroll of Lesser Restoration
Arol - Potion of Invisibility, and Potion of Cure light wounds
Flaern - Wand of lesser confusion (10 charges), scroll of cat's grace
Margat - Potion of Cat's grace, and Oil of Magic Weapon
Fundir - Wand of produce flame (10 charges), scroll of barkskin
Ecthelien - Wand of Magic Missile (10 charges), scroll of scorching ray
Camred - Potion of Bear's Endurance, and Oil of magic weapon
Fundir
|
FUNDIr strolls oer to the table and examines the items tagged with his name. "Well, this does fit in with the story that guy we found told us about "setting the place up for us".. but I don't think they get too much farther in their preparations considering where we found him." Fundir takes the scroll and wand and places the wand crosswise in his belt and the scroll in a pouch.
Arol Halfling
|
Arol picks up the potions next to his name and stows them away in a belt pouch.
"Not that I don't appreciate the gift, but are we sure we can trust these things? I'd hate to drink a vial of gut dissolving poison thinking it's going to be something more helpful."
He pauses for a moment then sighs softly
"Hmmph. And, how did they know we'd be coming to help you folks? This gets curiouser and curiouser.
He shakes his head
"If I spend too much time thinking this over, I'm sure I'll end up with a headache."

north of the room of the Golem This long corridor is flanked by a row of human statues, set into alcoves on each side. The statues look like Kassen, and each one holds a longsword out in front of it. The blades of
roughly half the statues are wrapped in leather padding.
Ecthelien the Grey
|
Ecthelien moves so as to be able to see into the corridor.
Strange their blades are covered. I wonder the purpose. The faces of the statues seem familiar. Do they resemble some we saw in town on the way here? Anyone know the significance? We were a bit rushed and did not have time to research in town.
perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Fen Kitlom

Fen takes a look. "Leather wrapped swords don't hurt. Maybe this is part of the preparations. I bet the non-wrapped swords hurt, and this looks like a trap to me, but what do I know? Who wants to go first?" Fen gives a bright smile at the Rouge.
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
