Not many people use them from what I can tell, but I tend to favor small elementals with most low-mid level summon spells (Arcane or Divine!). They are more useful than people think.

Tell you what, that fight with the earth elementals was intense!

I was mistaken on Brezik's first attack and thought he landed his attack, and the resulting 28 damage barely damaged the elemental. Thought Brezik and Gad'larr were toast.

I've been wondering if we will get an obvious push when we find what we need, or if it will be on us to determine when action should be taken. The ledger is the first big breakthrough, but I'm still hesitant whether we have enough to take them down. At this point I'm not sure we have a choice.

This is a bit too meta for the gameplay thread, but I think the potion and oil only have duration of a couple minutes, which would not likely be enough time for anyone to infiltrate upstairs, search around, steal something of importance, then return.

We could potentially go up there together and create some sort of diversion if we get caught so Qina, or Brezik (since someone under the invisibility oil still makes sound and he is a rogue with stealth), could drink the potion and peel off.

If we did it once dinner was served there might not be many people, if any, upstairs.

Other options would be:

-Interrogating Krant, but I don't think he will be very willing to give up information without extreme measures, and Allister is strongly against interrogation/sharp questioning. NOTE: that doesn't mean you guys couldn't do it, you'd just have to send Allister elsewhere and tell him a little white lie.

-Moving together and fighting our way through. Super dangerous. Plan "Z".

Since all these cultists are only in it for the loot, we probably could pay Krant off. Kind of against all of our characters though.

I like the diversion during dinner, my meta-intuition feels like we all should be up there in the end though. They did put 3 Elementals on the loot... why not boobytrap this too?

Krant seems different than the rest. My gut feeling is that he is dedicated because these cultists support and sponsor his violent tendencies.

I mean, my guess is a vast majority of the wealth is controlled by the black robes - it's not like they are living lavishly eating crappy mash and sleeping in bunks. Seems like the average person is holding out on a promise of wealth that will never materialize.

Having said that, I'm just as clueless as the rest. I have no idea what to do, open to ideas.

My vote is for giving gaseous form. Invisibility could be a life saver for us, but gaseous form could get him out in a pinch.

For GM: Divine Bond options and questions:

At 5th level Allister gets to choose one of two Divine Bond options. I've decided to go with the weapon enhancement bond, but would like to get some clarification from the GM.

The presence of faith and a chosen deity have been basically non-existent for Allister. In lieu of that, I have played him with faith and devotion to a cause/organization (the Dawnguard). Can I base the source of my Divine Bond through power gained through the Dawnguard? One option I was considering, with your approval, would be for Allister to be promoted from Initiate to Lightbringer within the organization after our recent adventure. Otherwise, as a second option perhaps you could facilitate some divine intervention from Sarenrae that will largely expand my faith? I would prefer the first option but will let you decide, and I'll be happy either way.

To enhance a weapon, suit of armor, or shield, you must use up raw materials costing half of this total price.

The weapon, armor, or shield to be enhanced must be a masterwork item that you provide. Its cost is not included in the above cost.

You can also mend a broken magic weapon, suit of armor, or shield if it is one that you could make. Doing so costs half the raw materials and half the time it would take to craft that item in the first place.
