I think I made a mistake regarding my ability score increase. Looks like it is a +1 to one ability score, not 2 different ones. I was using a 3rd party leveling checklist.

Just realized I have 2 more uses of Lay on Hands per day than I thought (7 total).

In addition, the amount of healing by Lay on Hands increased at level 4 to 2d6 each use.

Combined with Channel Positive Energy, I can do some serious healing.

On the subject of Divine Foci how do you feel about us using temporary, drawn Foci for our powers?

My second idea, that might be pushing it slightly, is to swirl the water, creating a spiral and, given Bel's affinity with water, use that?

Just ideas.

Also, do we need Foci to prepare spells or just to cast them?

Foci are just for casting, you can still pray for spells. I'm fine with you guys using drawn foci, though you should probably be careful about who you draw them around.

He is embracing the bad boy persona. Might even get a tattoo to show it (maybe a heart with his mom's name in it).

On a different note, I neglected to take any background skills while creating the character. That actually works well because I think Allister was a bit too spoiled and stupid to know any profession or crafting skills. However, now that he has spent time under Captain Vivian's tutelage, I'm hoping to begin putting ranks into Profession (Soldier) for this most recent level and going forward. That sound okay?

Nuts, I thought it worked that you need to expend an extra channel per enemy you didn't want to heal. So one channel for Bel/Brezik and 1 to exclude Krant.


And here I was thinking you were going to try and take Krant out when it was four on one. Al, sorry your plan didn't work the way you hoped it would, but Krant is something of a sadist, the more people hurting the better in his eyes.

@ GM - As a part of Allister's background and low intelligence score he cannot read or write. Will I have any sort of penalty with this check to transcribe text?

And here I thought I could sneak through the campaign without this blowing up in my face.


The transcriptions are simple copy/paste affairs. It would be just like following the lines of a picture to make a drawing. Certainly not easy without prior reading or writing knowledge, but simple nonetheless. The Int penalty is enough to represent that.

A silly longshot, but what are the rules on casting a spell onto food?


No real rules other than regular spellcasting. Let me know what you have in mind. Biggest issue may be how long the spell lasts as not everyone eats at the same time.

I think we need to work out what specifically we want to achieve here.

Is it that we are going to destroy the cult in this temple ourselves by force?

Or are we just here to gather information to report them to the authorities?

For my part, Bel wants a hand in their destruction! Could we get a message out to the Gorrumites to synchronize an attack; us from within, them from without?


It could work, but it would only last for four minutes, after that it'll just fade away. In addition they'd receive their will saves, even if they don't know what for, so you wouldn't really know who or what was affected by it.

Still have to remember this is a civilized society. The people in power won't like something seen as mob justice or vigilantism in their streets. Self-defense is another thing and entirely justified. Reginar is expecting you guys to come back in 5 days with information to take down the cult, but if you accomplish it sooner than that I'm sure he won't mind.

I'd love to call on the Gorrumites and go to war, but I think we should hold off until we have something more solid. Right now all we've got is that they haze recruits and steal from townspeople - that's not much to genocide a group for.

Once the time comes, you'll have Allister's sword.
