About Qina Coldfire

stat line:

HP 53/53 AC 16, Touch 15, Flatfooted 12, CMD 15, Saves F 5, R 7, W 7; Perception +11, Sense Motive +1; Init +4

Physical Description:

Qina is pretty short, even for a halfling. She has auburn orangish hair similar to fire, with a slim white streak in the front. Her hair grows free and unrestrained, like a patch of wild grass, or an uncontrolled flame. Her big blue eyes seem ice cold. She wears no armor, preferring the flexibility granted by her leather breeches and wool shirt.

Finesse Training At 1st level, a rogue gains Weapon Finesse as a bonus feat. In addition, starting at 3rd level, she can select any one type of weapon that can be used with Weapon Finesse (such as rapiers or daggers). Once this choice is made, it cannot be changed. Whenever she makes a successful melee attack with the selected weapon, she adds her Dexterity modifier instead of her Strength modifier to the damage roll. If any effect would prevent the rogue from adding her Strength modifier to the damage roll, she does not add her Dexterity modifier. The rogue can select a second weapon at 11th level and a third at 19th level.

Halfling Luck +1 racial bonus on all saving throws.

Keen Senses +2 racial bonus on Perception

Shadowplay +1 caster level when casting spells with the darkness, light, or shadow descriptors.

Sneak Attack If a rogue can catch an opponent when he is unable to defend himself effectively from her attack, she can strike a vital spot for extra damage. The rogue’s attack deals extra damage anytime her target would be denied a Dexterity bonus to AC (whether the target actually has a Dexterity bonus or not), or when the rogue flanks her target. This extra damage is 1d6 at 1st level, and increases by 1d6 every 2 rogue levels thereafter. Ranged attacks can count as sneak attacks only if the target is within 30 feet. This additional damage is precision damage and is not multiplied on a critical hit. With a weapon that deals nonlethal damage (such as a sap, unarmed strike, or whip), a rogue can make a sneak attack that deals nonlethal damage instead of lethal damage. She cannot use a weapon that deals lethal damage to deal nonlethal damage in a sneak attack—not even with the usual –4 penalty. The rogue must be able to see the target well enough to pick out a vital spot and must be able to reach such a spot. A rogue cannot sneak attack while striking a creature with total concealment.

Sure-Footed +2 racial bonus on Acrobatics and Climb checks.

Trapfinding A rogue adds 1/2 her level on Perception checks to locate traps and on Disable Device checks (minimum +1). A rogue can use Disable Device to disarm magic traps.

Deliver Touch Attacks - If the master and the familiar are in contact at the time the master casts a touch spell, he can designate his familiar as the “toucher.” The familiar can then deliver the touch spell just as the master would. As usual, if the master casts another spell before the touch is delivered, the touch spell dissipates.
Familiar - The master of a raven familiar gains a +3 bonus on Appraise checks.

Fluff:

"Hhuumpphhhh" Qina grunted in frustration. It was finally here. The day had come. She hurled another rock into the river. She was sitting in her usual place on the bridge, feet dangling over the edge. She let another stone fly, watched as it skipped across the water three times before sinking. Life in this little hole was so boring. Not much ever happened in Kassen. She flung another stone and watched as it clattered across the ice. What in the name of Gozreh… She was on her feet before she even realized it. That’s when she realized she was standing in snow. I must be losing it. Peering around and all she could see was snow. She looked up and realized her mouth was hanging open when the flakes started landing on her tongue. "Pffftttph, accckkk, errrhmmmppphhh" as she began to spit. This cannot be happening… and that’s when she noticed the white dragon sitting at the other end of the bridge. "GULP" as she swallowed hard. She wasn’t afraid of much, but a dragon a few dozen feet away was enough to make her red hair turn white.
"Greetings child" the beast said to her.
"Uh…hello" was all she could muster out weakly.
"I have come for you. It is time."
"For me? I think you have me confused with some…thing…else?"
"No my dear Qina, I am here for you and you alone. After tomorrow, nothing will ever be the same. Are you ready my dear?"

I must be losing my dang mind she thought to herself. Gozreh, please, save me.
"Gozreh cannot help you now daughter of my blood. You are bound to me, you will hear me, and you will learn."
"One side Qina, I have to get these tables set up before the ceremony begins"
said the man carrying a rather large plank of wood.
Qina looked around befuddled. There was no snow, no ice-covered frozen river, and no dragon.
"Move dab naggit, now, before I run ye over, this here ain’t light ya know. You do something different with your hair?" the man asked. "And why are you sweating, it ain’t that hot out and you been lollygagging about all day again…saw you throw stones at the river earlier." She looked down at the rock in her hand, blinked a few times, and gave it a good toss towards the river. It skipped a few times before falling beneath the surface. I’ve got to get out of this town.

Acquaintances:

Anafa, Qina’s mother is a hardworking halfling woman works as a cook in the local inn or tavern.. She taught Qina how to cook. She tries to keep a watchful eye on Qina as she knows that Jamir is not Qina’s father.

Jamir, Qina’s father is a hard working carpenter with a leg injury that has slowed the man and hurt the family’s economy. He is a proud man that loves his family and tries his best to provide for them.

Qina’s younger (half) sister Pressi hates Qina. Not just the victim of Qina’s first spell, Pressi was always jealous of Qina. She hates Qina and would like nothing more than to hurt Qina in any way possible.
