With the stall on the Kingmaker thread I have decided to start up a game myself. I chose the Crypt of the Everflame as its very familiar to me and I personally like to run modules that flow into Homebrew. So we will be playing Crypt of the Everflame, Mask of the Living God, and the City of Golden Death. So we will get to at least level 5. If it continues to work and people want to go on we can.
Ability Scores:
Roll 4d6, drop the Lowest
Point Buy 20
Classes:
Core, Base, Hybrid, and Kineticist and Psychic; Path of War
Starting Wealth:
Average for your class
Races:
Core only, other races will need discussion
Demographics for Kassen - 93% human, 3% halfling, 2% half-orc, 1% elf, 1% half-elf
Origins:
It would make more sense if you where a Local, or from a neighboring town. Somewhere you would have heard of the Quest.
Traits:
You can have 2 Traits, and no drawbacks. No Rich Parents or Chosen Child.
Level:
Level 1
Where would we be playing:
Here on Paizo forum
How many people in the party:
4 at most, 1 place reserved

Paizo only right? Warlord is not quite as good fit here as for Kingmaker, but I'm still curious if it is an option.
What is starting gold?
4d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 6, 3) = 15 13
4d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 1, 6) = 14 13
4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 4, 3) = 12 10
4d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 2, 2) = 8 6
4d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 2, 2) = 8 7
4d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 3, 2) = 12 10
Are there any conditions for rerolls or point buy instead? My rolls came out equivalent to -4 point buy.
The Archlich |
Dotting! :)
4d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 3, 6) = 13 12
4d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 4, 4) = 12 11
4d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 4, 4) = 16 12
4d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 4, 5) = 18 15
4d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 6, 6) = 19 18
4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 2, 5) = 13 11
I can certainly work with that. I never played Crypt of the Everflame - we start as 1 and go up to what level, if we level at all?
oyzar |
The previous one was -4 point buy, quite a bit less than 12. Let's see what the next one brings:
4d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 4, 4) = 11 10
4d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 4, 4) = 15 14
4d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 4, 6) = 19 15
4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 1, 5) = 17 16
4d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 1, 4) = 11 10
4d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 2, 1) = 11 10
That's equivalent to 22 point buy, certainly much better.

I'm considering a white haired witch // Warder, however I have a few questions about the white haired witch. The archtype doesn't mention if the intelligence is used for attack rolls as well with the hair. Can I use intelligence for attack rolls just like for prehensile hair? Secondly, the archtype recived quite a few nerfs through errata, making it much harder to use action-economy wise. Action economy is already hard enough to figure out in gestalt. Would you allow me to go with the unerrataed version where constrict, trip and pull are free actions?

Alone and nervous, Riinak was approached by a curious, pure white toad who seemed to take a liking to the kobold, but never came too close. Using his last torch, Riinak did the only thing he knew how to do properly: make shadow puppets. His canny imitation of the toad seemed to win the creature over, and on befriending the lonely kobold led him down a winding stretch of caverns. Their destination shocked the kobold immensely: the toad (whom he'd come to call Blot) had led him into the den of an ancient golden dragon, named Dovarinox. Groveling before the mighty creature, Dovarinox took the kobold in and under his wing (literally and figuratively), teaching the kobold in a variety of subjects, chiefly about Apsu and how to fight in his name. He also did his best to help the kobold rebuild his self-esteem, realizing that much of what held Riinak back was his own feeling of inadequacy.
For two years, Riinak trained relentlessly under Dovarinox's tutelage, but the ancient dragon grew worried that his pupil would never grow further if he did not have courage to leave the dragon's lair. Dovarinox decided to bring the kobold above the ground and into the small town of Kassen, a village he had watched over since its founding ages ago. Under the guise of a human, Dovarinox brought Riinak to the local cathedral, speaking with Father Prasst about the kobold continuing his studies in the church, hoping that exposure to other races and religions would help broaden the Riinak's mind and improve his outlook. Father Prasst relented upon realizing who Dovarinox was, and agreed that the kobold could take up residency within the church so long as he behaved himself and understood that the people of Kassen would likely be nervous about him living here. Although reluctant to leave the safe familiarity of his master's den, Riinak agreed to the dragon's request. And Riinak would not be alone - his constant companion, Blot, would be at his side, helping to guide and watch over him. Dovarinox told Riinak that the toad was special, and that he should look out for Blot's safety, a task Riinak would've gladly done without prompting.
For the past year, the residents of Kassen have kept a watchful eye on the church, waiting for the day Riinak would slip up and attack someone. However, Riinak has pushed himself to not only rise to the high standards of the townsfolk, but stand tall above them, continuing his daily training in the art of war, religion and, hardest of all, gaining confidence in himself. However, with the annual quest for the Everflame coming up, Riinak (on Father Prasst's suggestion and encouragement) has asked to participate in the quest, hoping that by completing the quest, he can win over the townsfolk and prove once and for all that he is a peaceful resident of Kassen.
Riinak's gold scales, odd habits and short stature are things the kobold is not particularly proud of, and is constantly working to prove that his small size and relative weakness are something that he can overcome. This makes the subjects a sensitive topic for the kobold to discuss, and as such, can get easily riled up and eager to challenge those who would belittle or demean his abilities. In particular, calling him a "lizard" gets him hopping mad, and despite his best efforts, he has trouble restraining himself against those who mock him with such a name. Despite his relative unease with other people, Riinak is remarkably good with animals (he enjoys visiting the stables to feed the horses when he can, and Father Prasst's visitors usually concede the kobold is well suited to taking care of their beasts of burden). Riinak's bond with animals is most obviously exemplified by his close relationship with his toad partner, Blot, who is rarely away from the kobold's side. Although he appears a simple toad, Blot seems to have a strange 6th sense about a variety of things, and if he insists on heading a particular way, Riinak readily follows.
In spite of his perceived flaws, Riinak is a very devout and kind soul, ready to step up and protect those who need help. His years of training, meditation and study have made him more knowledgeable and smart than he gives himself credit for, and his daily training has helped to overcome the weaknesses his race is famous for, able to walk in broad sunlight and hit harder than even some of the town guards. Those who break through his facade as a calm, collected creature will not only find his low perception of himself, but also a loyal and dedicated friend who will readily lay down his life for justice, peace, and the prosperity of others.

lol, I'm in the same boat as oyzar. I'm rocking an 8 point buy here. If allowed I also would like call a "misroll".
stat 1: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 6, 3) = 21
stat 2: 4d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 6, 3) = 18
stat 3: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 4, 3) = 12

stat 5: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 2, 4) = 14
stat 6: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 2, 3) = 12
18, 15, 11, 10, 12, 11
Equates to a 28 point buy. Let me know if you will allow this "reroll" or in you want me to go with the 20pt build.
Also... I was a fan of D&d 4e warlord. Would you allow a 3pp? here is the link for it on d20: Warlord
My concept will be an inspiring melee "captain".
He will combine warlord (if approved) and bard. Wielding a shield (shield bash build) in one hand and a flag/banner (flagbearer feat) in the other. He will lead from the frontline, empowering his allies.

If you get a chance to look it over, great. Not much to review with it, it's pretty simple (only a few non-complicated class features), but I can always use Brawler: Shield champion instead and get fairly close to the same concept.
Thank you for your flexibility on the roll and (possibly) a class... in the interest of character development!

hi there GM. New here to the site. I am an old 2nd ed -3.5 ed player. Just got done reading a guide on the changes from 3.5 to pathfinder. Wondering if I can join. I would only be interested in playing base classes and races. However,I am not very sure on how to use this site to play (evoking dice rolls, etc). Still have room, and how often will the game be?
(I bought the maximum humblebundle, so i gots the books)

Rolls...
4d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 4, 3) = 17
4d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 6, 3) = 17
4d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 4, 4) = 13
4d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 1, 2) = 12
4d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 2, 4) = 14
4d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 3, 4) = 16
14, 14, 12, 11, 12, 13
or Focus/Foible?
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
18, 17, 15, 11, 8, 8
Hmm. That last one would be a perfect caster, but I was more into a martial of some kind, probably Lore Warden Martial Master Fighter on one side, and something that benefits from intelligence at least a little on the other side.
That means I'd be looking at 18/11/15/17/8/8, which is a little bad for the will save, but I can probably make it work.
