I marked up some items to sell; recommend we keep the consumables. And, as far as the utility items we found in the Chaneque lair, maybe we should keep that to give to the Marquis for our "home base." Could be useful.
I agree with keeping all consumables. I need to work out what armor I took from the fallen druids - I did post what I took but can’t remember if I updated my sheet.

A week from yesterday I will be getting married. Today through Wednesday I may be partially available, but Thursday through Wednesday I will be unavailable. I'm truly hoping things will start to settle down for me again after that.

Thank you all. I wish I could say I got hitched without a hitch, but hurricane Zeta blew in straight over our venue and swamped out our rehearsal dinner. But in the end, we made it happen and things went beautifully from there on out. Came home to the power company having to replace all our panels and breakers, so hadn’t had power for a day. Tryna catch up now before I start work again tomorrow. Hope all is well!

Through the line of work I do, I see more and more people personally effected by the corona virus. Much confusion, uncertainty, fear, and loss. My well wishes for everyone this holy day season. Stay safe, stay healthy.

But first, for clarification, there are three distinct spider type creatures on this boat:
The first, your typical, everyday, run of the mill giant spider, ie the one you shot from the rigging before boarding
The second, your atypical, fungal infected undead giant spider, ie the two you miraculously took out after getting a lungful of spores
The third, the purple, archnoids/humanoid, spider-faced creatures you are currently fighting.
Now for the real news:
I have started a new project for our campaign. You may have noticed an increasing amount of callbacks recently. That's because I've introduced enough plot-threads already, and it's time to start tying things together into a plot-tapestry. Knowing that PbP time is slow and grueling, and it is difficult to keep track of all these things, I am now currently creating a Campaign Journal to assist in our collective memory. You will find it under the Campaign Info Tab. It is a collection of links to past posts, sorted by adventuring day, with brief notes of encounters and set pieces. Hopefully this should help in being able to recall pertinent information. Again, this is a work in progress, and I am currently on Day Four of our adventure.

More news!:
Up until this point we have been playing with a ‘milestone’ variety of experience and leveling up, with a twist. I had the adventure mapped out according to the appropriate experience track, but wasn’t actually totaling experience earned. Rather, I had a pretty good idea that at certain milestones, you’d have earned the right amount of ballpark experience.
But, you know, that whole bog cave adventure was purely a side quest, and mostly made up on the fly. Well, as ‘on the fly’ as you can get with such a slow paced game medium. I’ve found this is my preferred method of game design.
So, starting with level 3, I am now tracking XP. It shouldn’t make too much of a difference, or at least a difference you would notice as players. Maybe leveling a bit faster.
The thing is, I’ve also learned that the way I like to design campaigns is to have them restricted and linear at the beginning, but make them more and more open as the campaign progresses, giving you the players more and more options, until it’s clear which road you wish to take, then narrow the game back down to a satisfying conclusion. So, the whole ‘milestone’ thing gets lost in all of that.
Again, this is all behind the curtain stuff, and shouldn’t be all that noticeable on the surface, but, I thought you should know.
Thanks for the peeks behind the curtain, and for compiling the Journal. I think it is almost imperative for PbP...and makes much more work for you - so again, thank you.

A few personal updates:
I have my brother and his family coming into town for the holidays, so the next couple of weeks I might be a bit more spotty with posts.
However, my wife will be working out of state for a month and a half starting in January, so I expect to have more time to dedicate to the game. So things may pick up more for a moment, but really more time for planning and prep for me to help things run more smoothly in the future. Like they say 'Work up front, party in the back.'
Speaking of parties, I hope everyone is able to celebrate the holidays safely with the ones they love. Happy Merry and All Blessings.
