It likely beats the durian candy I once received from Vietnam. Kinda like sewage scented Now&Laters.
Just reading that word makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up and I shudder. Durian is considered the King of Fruits in Malaysia and is in many places. To say I dislike the lingering aroma would be an understatement...
Tastes ok - bit like a strong custard apple... but the taste repeats on you for about 48 hours and it gets a bit old by then.

Going to Bubonicon (SciFi convention in Albuquerque) tomorrow. Going to attend a session of Tim Powers and George RR Martin discussing Dark Fantasy. If they threw in Dan Simmons, I could start worshiping them as the Holy Trinity. So two out of three ain't bad, and I don't have to convert to a weird (but personal) cult.
Sounds like fun! (My preference for a third would be Neil Gaiman, but Simmons does creepy pretty well.)

I've been kinda pining for a con with all the Gencon news. I think Tucson has one in October so not too long.

The actor steps back through the curtain and a moment later it parts to reveal a whimsical scene. Sheets of diaphanous blue fabric ruffle as waves across the stage then rise upwards to reveal a set made to look like the sea floor with clumps of coral and strings of kelp rising upward. A group of women in seashell brassieres and sequined fishtail skirts sit center stage laughing and combing their hair. A man in an awkward crab suit shuffles in sideways and they begin to sing the praises of their watery home.

Pens have landed in KL - and I've sifted through, and if you're interested the wood type you'll end up with is below:
Groom - Grass Tree - dark wood with black spots strewn throughout and streaks
Dingus - Red Morrel - swirly tan-ish and reddish wood
Jimmer - Rib Fruited Mallee - lighter wood and swirly pattern.
Cap'n - Acacia Inceana - darkish and streaky wood (from the desert, just like our Cap'n)
I'll hopefully get em away some time this week :)

I like it. I still think we should plan a real life game in the coming year sometime...Maybe Paizo Con...Gen Con...Some European convention...
Would indeed be mighty to actually share a table, some beverages and some banter with you merry miscreants :)
Gen Con is on my long range plans - I'd love to go some year, but not sure when I'll be able to manage it. Kids and living as an expat away from family tend to conspire to eat up my holiday time with a vengeance :)
Need to gosee Scotland with castles and moors and shaggy coos and a Six Nations game and deep fried XYZ and what not.
If any of y'all end up in either KL or Singapore at any time, let me know :)
I'd like to do Paizo Con again. If you oil types end up back in HQ Houston, I've got family there so maybe could meet up.
I'd love to visit Asia and Australia, but that'll have to wait until I get a better paying job for now.
I've got enough frequent flyer, and Priority Club points to travel about anywhere, so "Game ON".

I am already slowed by my armored coat, might as well go for the +2 AC upgrade (now 22 AC) and we can sell the +1 armored coat. the Groom will go back to wearing just his old dress black overcoat over the breastplate...he still needs his coat, the drippier the better.
Kinda sorta. You and Kaul both do more damage flanking, and Jim concentrates on mobility and survivability, so he can set you two up and take a few shots while doing it.

I'm pretty happy with the way they turned out. They'd look a bit better if I had some natural light and a macro lens - but the wee handheld did a decent enough turn at it :)
