:Sunny: |

T'were 'Consternation'...not 'Condescension'. Sunny jus' be finidin' somat puzzlin' in yer speakin', is all.(^_~)

Yasmin al Akbar |

Sorry Sunny - fixed. Obviously I'm just as oblivious as Yasmin!

Reinald Malcoms |

Reginald looks up at Alana, just as he is about to speak Yasmin swoops him up. Dazed and drunk mostly on reflex he rises and dances along.

Yasmin al Akbar |

Yasmin steps and twirls with Reinald, dancing away from the cares that were troubling her heart. When her song finishes its course, Yasmin gives Reinald a peck on the cheek before setting the dazed creature back on his chair. "Thank you, good Captain, it's not every day I find a man who can keep up with me." She retrieves her hat from the sleeping halfling and replaces it atop Reinald's head.

Ajani Ihejirika |

Ajani applauds Yasmin's stirring rendition as well as her dancing skills, clearly filling in where the drunken Reinald's footsteps were less-than-sure. It was abundantly obvious that the woman had some experience in the art of entertainment.
Once she was done, he spoke to the group at large. "I'm certain that we all have our reasons for being here today today. And who knows? A place like this seems an excellent one to put yourself onto a new path."
Ajani reaches out to Eloise, giving her shoulder a light shake to see if he can rouse her again. "What about you, Eloise? You have spoken of your parents, but not yourself. What brings you to Port Peril?"

Reinald Malcoms |

Reginald leans back in his chair, looking over toward Alana still a little dazed, "Did I just dance." He shakes his head trying to recapture some composure, "I hope your toes will survive Yasmin."

Alina Las'Baelin |

A bitter taste rises in Alina's mouth. She fumes quietly while the beautiful, talented, captivating Yasmin dances without a care in the world with Reinald. Stupid Kelishite cow! The elf looks away before she gets too upset. It's not her fault, she was born to dance... and father taught me a different dance. But that voice! Alina looks at her gloved hands and frowns.
When Reinald has returned to his seat, and apologizes to Yasmin she snaps, [b]Oh, I am sure she has had more than her toes stepped on by more than just you, Reinie![/I]
Yasmin, I hope you don't mind :) Alina is a bit jealous *especially* if a young lady is so aggressively charming! Poor Alina was taught more sword-play than dancing and airs...

Eloise Holycross |

Eloise stirs at being shaken awake. She raises her head slightly and says muzzily "No refunds! Huh, wha-?" Then you can almost see her mind work.
"I came here on the Steady Seahorse but she's been sold to a new owner and the new owner is only using relatives as crew. So, I got paid off and here I am. Are you going to introduce me to your twin?"

Ajani Ihejirika |

He chuckled quietly at the red-skinned woman's response, confused for a beat but quickly realizing she's seeing double..and, just as quickly, he decides to play along. "Oh, him? His name is Jalil and he is my cousin. Those not familiar with the Vanara have a difficult time telling us apart."

Reinald Malcoms |

Reginald confused looks about, "Huh, what else would they stand on and why?" Reginald tosses Yasmin back her hat and reaches for some water.

:Sunny: |

Sunny hugs/snuggles Eloise in response to her dour seeming tale.
The blond mopped Elf looks confusedly about for any 'Twins'...

Reinald Malcoms |

Reginald leans back in his chair, a warm bemused look in his eyes, clearly drunk.

:Sunny: |

Sunny, still snuggling, sips more from her tankard...or maybe not her tankard...She looks around at the table and all the mugs, glasses and cups scattered about. Her eyes are slightly glazed and appear to be having trouble focusing, the effects of the rum taking their toll.

Reinald Malcoms |

Reinald looks at Sunny as her eyes shift aboug the table, "I know exactly what you mean."

Cap'n Fox Shadows |

The keep slams an empty mug on the table several times, trying to get the attention of the customers, that and his voice both drowned out by the drunken hordes. Seeing the option isn't quite working, he grips a nautical bell hanging from one of the columns that support the weathered ceiling. Much to the dismay and pain of many patrons, the fiend of a dwarf rings it until he gets everyone, singers, drinkers, and "special guests" of patrons alike, all quieted to a minor roar.
"Alright, you lot! Closin' time! Leave the booze, if'n you didn't buy the bottle! We'll see you lice-ridden lot tomorrow!"
It is with that, the bar is empted, except for a small smattering of gruff looking sailors...and a certain five unlucky individuals, who find that darkness quickly overwhelms their blurred vision, as the floor rushes to meet them.
A large coin bag lands on the dwarf's bar, followed by a low chuckle. "Pleasure doing business with ya. We'll see you next time at the Formidably Maid. Enjoy your newest purchase."

Cap'n Fox Shadows |

Ok, so I'm going to let everyone know. I have a bit of a medical condition that sometimes flares and leaves me unable to do much, if anything, for hours (or sometimes days) at a time. Right now it's flared, and I have a 9 to 7 shift tomorrow, so probably this'll be the last post of the night for me.
I want to let you all know in advance that sometimes posts might go slow, but I will certainly tell you all exactly what is going on, if I have one of those days, or have a long shift to do.
I disclose this fully, in advance of the game really getting going, because I know some of you may have high expectations for a game like this, and I definitely don't want to lose folks over perceived loss of interest.
With that said, if you all have questions or concerns, you can definitely always PM me or ask here. But, for now, I'm heading to sleep!

:Sunny: |

As some one who might have upto three consecutive, twelve hour days and or bights of work? I perfectly understand Real Life running over the top of people.
Sadly, I have had to drop out of a game due to the other players posting 50 odd posts in a 'day'.
Some thing that 'fast' in a gam? While stuff gets done, it's overwhelming.
A post a day (And I appreciate the extra work the DM puts in) is fine by me.
(^_^)
Wishing every one all the very best.

:Sunny: |

Wishing every one all the very best.
Hoping those in the Aussie bush fires are all okay. (^_^)

:Sunny: |

:(
It were them sneaky Grindly-diddlies! Them lil' varmints get in't every where, what with they's wriggly lil' tentacly thingys.
*Hugz* Wishin' ye self an' every one else all'a very best-est! (^_^)

:Sunny: |

I be preferrin' this one. (^_^)
You are a Pirate! (Fred Perry version)
Wishin' every one all'a tha' very best. (^_^)

Cap'n Fox Shadows |

I'm gonna say that I apologize for the confusing nature of the crew jobs. It's my first time running this game and explaining this particular aspect, so it's a bit confusing, even for me. I'd suggest taking a look at the front campaign page, so that it all comes together a bit better.
I'll see if I can give a simple enough example.
Bob is a rigger, so each day, we roll 1d6 to get his job assignment.
Job: 1d6 ⇒ 2 Line Work
So ol' Bob has to do line work. So Bob can either
work hard and focus on his job (getting a +4 to his Profession or Dexterity check);
he can try and talk shop & make friends with his other riggers (make his normal check & get a chance to influence an NPC);
he can do his job and then go exploring (use his normal bonuses for the check & then get to make a Perception check or other skill check with no chance of detection);
he can go shopping (take a -2 to his job roll & go down to the quartermaster);
or he can shirk his job (which is basically the sneaking option, except he takes a -2 on the job check & can take 10 on the Perception or other skill check but has a chance of being detected).
So, ol' Bob decides he's gonna shirk his job and try to find his lost gear. He has a +1 Dex modifier.
Job Roll: 1d20 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (12) - 2 + 1 = 11
Shirking Sneak: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
He has a +4 modifier on Perception, so he ends up with a total of 14 on his Perception. He manages to get some clues on where his gear is, and manages to NOT get caught AND to get his job done properly.
Make more sense now?

Cap'n Fox Shadows |

So just updating everyone. I had to spend the entire day at the hospital for a friend's surgery (which is why my posting was limited), SO I'm delaying my response to posts until I'm not running on less than 5 hours of sleep.
But I haven't given up, and I hope you all haven't either. I'm definitely fiddling with the rum ration, so bear with me on that, as I've seen it do a number on many a PC.

:Sunny: |

*Hugz* Wishing you and your friend all the very best.
Take your time, Master DM Sir. It's all good. (^_^)
Much cheers to all

Cap'n Fox Shadows |

Ok, all you lads and lasses, I'm going to have to make a bit of a sad announcement that's been a long time coming.
I'm going to be giving up the reins of this campaign because of real life issues. Sadly, I'm about to go through a divorce and some major health issues, and to be honest, it's not fair for you all to have to wait for all this. So I'm going to start recruiting you all a proper DM, and you all will be able to choose who you feel is the best one for the job of whoever applies.
I am planning to do this because I don't want any of you to lose such a fan bunch to play with. And truly, it is with a sad, sad heart I do this.
Here is the link for the recruitment thread.

:Sunny: |

Already posted-ed Master DM, Sir.
*Hugs* Again, wishing you and all those close to you (In all shapes, forms and sizes) the very, very best.

Captain Fox Shadows: I have read everything in this thread. I am sorry that you are going through what you are, as someone who hasn't been there personially, but has for family/friends I can say that things do get better. I wish you the best of luck. IF I take over when the time comes and you are able, you are more then willing to have the helm.
Just popping in here to say that I have come from that vary same aforementioned location. I have never run this AP. it is one of the ones my brother gave me some months back.. well sold me not gave. I have honestly never opened the books so have no knowledge of it whatsoever.
I am currently running a kingdom building campaign here in pbp, just recently launched it. I am also running a biweekly 2e tale in person. I am running a weekly Wrath AP game at my brothers table. I am playing in 4 other pbp's here as well as another table in person.
I am going to take a couple days and read over the AP, and see if I can fit this into my life without harming the other games I am playing. I am in effect retired so time is not an issue, it is more a question will quality of all my tales be reduced or not.
If another story weaver steps up in the meanwhile no hard feelings. and Good luck. Specially if you have actually run this tale before, or looked at it.
I just have one question to start with.
What is the current/previous frequency under Cap'n Fox Shadows ? Daily, Weekly, when everyone makes their turn?

:Sunny: |

Well....I think it's kind of "One generic post a day" just to keep things moving along.
Though we were just working at settling into a "Day events" then "Night events" ship happenings since we're only just starting the adventure.
We's bin shanghaied! (^_^)

![]() |

Aye I noticed that things were not too far along but I said. I haven't even opened the book, its still in the box of assorted PF books he sold me.
I haven't even read the players guide to the path yet as I am our only DM willing to run an AP at my home table. I have run Kingmaker a couple times and played through a good chunk of both serpent skull and jade regent.
I am just pointing that out so you are all aware that I am interested in helping out, just have no knowledge of the path even though I have the books. This was intentional on my part incase I could find a table to play them at.. so its just a matter of grabbing it and paging through. but the soonest I can do that is tomarrow. As I will be busy prepping for the wrath game tonight and doings a couple things for the kingdom and I need my minecraft time :D

:Sunny: |

*HUGZ* (^_^)
*Nods* Yuppers. I understand perfectly. Having run both King-maker and Skulls and Shackles as a DM I can say that, in a way, they have some similarities.
More so than say 'Carrion Crown' and 'Skulls and Shackles'. :P
There is some good opportunity for character sand-boxing efforts to be had in Skulls and Shackles.
As for you thinking of DMing, Master Klokk? Take your time. We's patient. (^_^)

, |
Also? As a side note? I came across this person/these.
Linkk to said character's creator
They are simply AMAZING and I would offer up a vote to see about maybe including said player and a version of their creation within this game.
Very much cheers to all. (^_^)

:Sunny: |

So...we're not having much luck finding a new DM, hey?
Well...wishing every one all the best.

:Sunny: |

I thought so too, and I'm just sorry I can't give my all to take you guys to the end.
Hey! Your life etc is going through the wringer!
*HUGZ* Seriously, it is us wishing you all the very best at the moment.
heck, thank you for the time and effort you did give to us!.
Much cheers to you.

GM Olmek |

Hey everyone. I'm the interested person mentioned above and I want to run this game for you. I posted this in the GM recruitment thread, but I thought I would put it here so you all could see it easily.
Okay. I'm in.
A few caveats:
1. This will be my first time trying to GM a PbP game (although I've been a GM for a little over a decade now), so it will be a learning experience for me. Please bear with me.
2. I will always try to post at least once a day, if not more than once. If I have any major breaks in posting, I will let you all know.
3. I'm not yet sure how I will do combat. Roll20 seems like a good option, but if anybody has a better idea, I'm all ears.
2. The vision I've had for my pirate game could be a major departure from Skull & Shackles. I like some of the material, but I find a few of the books (most notably 3 and 4) to be pretty weak and not particularly "piratey". So I'd be looking to take the campaign off the rails so to speak. Once we get past the second book, it will likely be a smattering of S&S, Razor Coast, Freeport, and other high seas adventures. It will be open world and, I hope, awesome. If some of the players are 100% sold on the Adventure Path, then we might have some problems.
If that seems reasonable, then let's do this.

Ajani Ihejirika |

I'm perfectly fine with you taking the AP off of the rails. I honestly haven't read much of the AP past the first book, so I'm not that familiar with the material anyway.
As for it being your first time with a PbP, that's also cool! I'm running a RoW PbP that's my first, too. It's a blast and I hope you have a great time with it!
EDIT: Also, Eloise...if you don't mind my asking, where was the "Jayne Austen Book & Gun Club" picture from your main profile taken? It reminds me of downtown Atlanta during Dragon*Con.

:Sunny: |

*Bounces up and down* Sounds grand Master DM Sir. (^_^)
I must admit while I am very impressed by the Razor Coast stuff and its presentation, I've not had much call to use it as I am running Reign of winter. Bugger all Pirating to be done in that adventure path. :P
Looking forwards to where ever the winds take us. (^_^)
Wishing every one all the very best.

Thorn Asures |

It's a pleasure to have you aboard! I have access to the Razor Coast PDFs myself, as well as a few other resources. I'm completely fine with transforming the adventure after a while, because there's just so much possibility left to the open fields.
I mean, who knows what mischief we'll get into next, eh?

GM Olmek |

It seems like we're all on the same page then. :)
Give me a little to get my ducks in a row, re-read the adventure, and we can get this up and running again. I'll shoot for the first post by Monday.
I see that one of the players is "Juju Doctor", but I haven't seen them check in at any point. What's the deal there?
