Female Halfling Sorcerer (celestial)

Yeah, I think two character leveling up is more than enough reason to call it a day. The baths are a marvelous bonus.

M Aasimar Paladin (Warrior of the Holy Light ) 5

Agreed

M Aasimar Paladin (Warrior of the Holy Light ) 5

Leaving his sword drawn Gregori leads the group back the way they came, looking forward to a bath.

Ftr1/Pal1 | LG | AC(19)17/14/16 | HP 18//18 | F+5,R+1,W+0 | Init+ 1 | Smite Evil 1/day

i say we sell the dagger and get the other items identified while we are in town as well.

M Aasimar Paladin (Warrior of the Holy Light ) 5

"So, how did you come by such a magnificent dagger?"
"Uhhhh.....we fought slew a magical monster in a heated battle"
LOL

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

You make your way back to the Quintain's Tower and the smell thankfully abates somewhat over time, but you are happy for a bath and a hot meal.

Brazzer lets out a guffaw as he realizes what happened to you. "Let me just get my notebook ", he chuckles and brings out a tattered scroll with the superscription: Battling the Dung Monster. "You're not the first to run into it", he beams with a malicious glint in his purple eyes. "Tell me, how did it go.

He is willing to buy the dagger from you at market price if you want to part with it. The bag is a Bag of Holding (type I), and he'll buy that too if you don't want to keep it.

As for the bottle, Brazzer looks at you incredulously. "Do you know what you've got here?" he asks. "This is an Efreeti bottle. Just look at the smoke coming out of it. The efreeti inside must be positively furious after having been trapped in a dung heap for ages. This can be really dangerous.

On the other hand, you might be able to coax a few wishes out of it. Either way, it's worth a fortune. You're lucky I'm not in the habit of screwing my customers over, so I'll give you a reasonable trade for it in whatever magic you may desire, but I don't keep that kind of money around so I won't buy it from you.

Yeah, Brazzer is offering you 72.500 gp's worth of magic items. Face it, tiger. You just hit the jackpot.

Male Dwarf Rogue 5

And yet we found SH** ...

Female Halfling Bard 1

Tika spends much of the journey back mumbling to herself whilst writing in one of her many journals. Anyone that listens for a bit can make out she is trying to (and failing)to make what was essentially a fight with a giant animated turd sound heroic and exciting.

Her attitude perks up somewhat at the mention of the magic items "So what do you think we should ask for?" She asks the others

Is it one big item or can it be several smaller ones?

Female Halfling Sorcerer (celestial)

As Brazzer's offer sinks in, Roylenna's eyes widen and her jaw falls open. She just looks at the others, speechless.

He says "worth of magic items", so I believe the intent was multiple items. Offering to buy the dagger for market price (18000 gp? or Half that?) is nothing to sneeze at, either.

M Aasimar Paladin (Warrior of the Holy Light ) 5

That's just over 10k a piece or however we choose to best equip the party

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

Market price for the dagger is half its worth, ie 9000 gp. As for the bottle, Brazzer prefers that you let him pay you back in multiple lesser items. He might not be able to procure all of them at one time, so if you are inclined to trust an ogre (as I imagine you might be), he hopes to be able to get the items within a week or two. After all, you know where to find him.

He can get you most standard items not costing above 10.000 gp in a week or so, possible quicker.

Ftr1/Pal1 | LG | AC(19)17/14/16 | HP 18//18 | F+5,R+1,W+0 | Init+ 1 | Smite Evil 1/day

I say everyone pick up to 10k in items, and we party kitty anything left over. Gonna need some Raise Dead funds before long, I'd wager.

Male Dwarf Rogue 5

OR we could keep the bottle as a 'get out of prison card' ...
Ok it could mean 'Go directly to the plan of fire' but still ...

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

So what's it going to be. The bottle is undoubtedly dangerous, but it can also me immensely useful if you manage to control the Efreeti. On the other hand it's worth quite a lot.

Brazzer offers you free room and board for as long as you live... er, wish. If you can stand the smell of goblins the accommodations aren't that bad.

Female Halfling Bard 1

I say sell the thing and split the gold to all buy gear.

Ftr1/Pal1 | LG | AC(19)17/14/16 | HP 18//18 | F+5,R+1,W+0 | Init+ 1 | Smite Evil 1/day

Sell it.

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

OK, let me have a wish list. Or maybe you should thrash it out in the discussion thread.

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

Sorry if I dropped the ball a little.

A few days later, a grinning Brazzer invites to his roast boar party and proudly announces that he's been able to procure all the things on your list. He's happy enough that he even lets the goblins have their own table.

Are you ready for another go at the infamous dungeon?

Female Human Barbarian 7

We got everything our little hearts desired? Then heck yah! Back into the dungeon!

Female Human Barbarian 7

Hello?

Female Halfling Sorcerer (celestial)

Forward! (I think BT's busy elsewhere at the moment, though.)

Ftr1/Pal1 | LG | AC(19)17/14/16 | HP 18//18 | F+5,R+1,W+0 | Init+ 1 | Smite Evil 1/day

Ready when the group is!

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

OK, sorry guys, spent the week picking up lost marbles. Let's just fastforward a bit, to where you can go on down the corridor, which is the only way left to explore.

The corridor continues about 90 feet to the right before abruptly ending and giving way to a more narrow passage of unworked stone. Will you proceed (you will have to do so in single file)?

Female Human Barbarian 7

I believe our standard party order in these sorts of situations is Mahaffy (searching for traps), Gregori, Artival, Tika, Roylenna, and Ka'kara (bringing up the rear). And seeing as we have no other direction to go I guess we would continue. We might want to start searching for secret doors as Mahaffy does his trap thing (gives us something useful to do while he is doing it).

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

Perception 15 (stonecunning applies):

Spoiler:
A slight discoloration on the right-hand wall reveals a secret door behind a panel painted to resemble stone.

Ftr1/Pal1 | LG | AC(19)17/14/16 | HP 18//18 | F+5,R+1,W+0 | Init+ 1 | Smite Evil 1/day

Perception 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

Artival casts his MAge Armor spell upon returning to the crypt, which will last for 6 hours.

Female Human Barbarian 7

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10

Female Halfling Sorcerer (celestial)

Perception 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

lalalalala!

Female Halfling Bard 1

Perception

1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28

"Hey Guys I think there is something behind the wall there." Tika points at the spot for the others to see.

Female Halfling Sorcerer (celestial)

What wall? Where?

"Something like a door or something like an attacker?"

Female Human Barbarian 7

Ka'kara tilts her head to listen, "I don't hear anything."

Female Halfling Bard 1

"Like a door. Although I suppose there could be an attacker behind it."

Female Human Barbarian 7

Her look of excitement turns to one of mild frustration as the hand she was reaching toward the secret door drops back to her side, "I suppose we should call Mahaffy back here to take a look before we open it..."

M Aasimar Paladin (Warrior of the Holy Light ) 5

Gregori grins at Ka'kara's reaction.

"I promise if it's an attacker you can get first shot."

32/42 HP

"I'm sure that whatever attacker we'll find will be enough for all of us."

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

Mahaffy finds no traps on the door. Do you want to open it?

M Aasimar Paladin (Warrior of the Holy Light ) 5

Gregori draws his sword and takes a step back grinning at Ka'kara as he does.

"All yours."

Female Halfling Sorcerer (celestial)

Roylenna steps back to give the warriors sword-swinging room and prepares to cast a spell if the need arises.

Female Human Barbarian 7

With a huge grin she places her greatsword in her right hand, then reaching for and opening the secret door with her left.

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

Behind the secret door a short passage turns to the left before it ends in a small room, where a fat man in rich garb sits on a wooden throne. As he sees you he claps his hands in delight and smiles, revealing a row of vicious fangs. In broken Common, he exclaims: "Congratulations! You finally found me. Now I will reward you with your righteous death."

Roll for initiative. Map coming up.

Female Halfling Bard 1

Init

"Wow there was someone waiting behind the door to attack us."

M Aasimar Paladin (Warrior of the Holy Light ) 5

Female Halfling Sorcerer (celestial)

"Wow, and just think - you weren't the one we were looking for at all!"

Initiative 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16

Female Human Barbarian 7

Initiative: 1d20 ⇒ 12

At first the barabrianess seems mystified as to why such a well dressed man would be sitting down here by himself but then grins broadly, "Its about time, I was beginning to think the legends about this place were a pack of lies."

Ftr1/Pal1 | LG | AC(19)17/14/16 | HP 18//18 | F+5,R+1,W+0 | Init+ 1 | Smite Evil 1/day

"What do we have here?"

Know. arc. 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17
Kno. Planes 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8

M Aasimar Paladin (Warrior of the Holy Light ) 5

"I'm not even going to bother looking at your soul after a response like that, right pronoun, wrong direction, and I'm the only thing that'll be righteous about your death."

32/42 HP

Lyria raises her eyebrow at Gregori's remark. "I didn't know you were into words, Gregori. I thought you more the fearless warrior type than the witty scholar", she says while pulling out her holy symbol and getting ready for battle, conveniently behind the fighters.

Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
Lyria tries to think whether she recognizes this creature as some sort of undead.

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

Knowledge (religion) 15:

Spoiler:
The man is a ghul, an undead genie

Sorry about the delay. Personal crisis here (not kidding). Updated battle map.

Tika, Roylenna, Lyria and Artival are up, then the monster.

Female Halfling Bard 1

Tika inspires courage in the others and gets her spear ready.

Ftr1/Pal1 | LG | AC(19)17/14/16 | HP 18//18 | F+5,R+1,W+0 | Init+ 1 | Smite Evil 1/day

Artival jumps at the chance to show off his new Metamagic rod, so with it in hand, he fires off a Scorching Ray at the undead

Ranged Touch Attack with Haste 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Damage 4d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 6, 1) = 14 x 1.5 = 21
