Gregori stares down at the fallen maniac, his eyes taking on the familiar silver glow as he stares into the man's soul.
The fallen barbarian does radiate evil.
His nest contains 3 ceramic jars of green slime, various bones, a beaver pelt worth 22 gp, a gold bar worth 400 gp, 62 cp and a spell book with the following spells: spark, grease, mending, erase and hold person.
"Definitely evil, and looking at the stuff lying around, I think he might be a cannibal."
"Oh. Eww."
"Well as I was trying to say I dont think the man is playing with a full deck of cards if you catch my meaning. Not that it really matters."
After offering a short prayer for their fallen enemy, Lyria looks to the rest of the group. "Shall we move on? I wouldn't like to stay here longer than necessary".
Ka'kara nods her head and continues on.
The barbarian is carrying a magical greatclub, filthy hide armor, a key, a rat tooth necklace and a lot of fleas.
There are several doors along the corridor, apart from the ones in the first room.
"Oh, a key!!" Roylenna snatches up the key and looks it over before passing it to Ka'kara.
Looking at the greatclub the barabarianess frowns, "I don't really want to carry that thing around. Perhaps we can stash it and come back for it on our way out." Her further look of distaste at the hide armor tells you she wants no part of that at all. After the group is done taking what they want she leads them back down the hall to the first door we haven't been through. If she finds no traps she will open it.
"I think leaving the club is a good idea. Other than Kakara and Gergori, I'm not sure any of us could even lift it, let alone swing that thing!"
The first door in the corridor is locked but not trapped, and your key fits. Inside there is a room with a horde of starving dire rats that swarm you as you enter.
Roll for initiative.
(And yeah, the lunatic is still breathing unless you want to end him.)

The rats swarm in a frenzy around the barbarian woman and give her a couple of nasty bites for 8 points of damage, but most of them can't reach you.

Roylenna moves back from the front line and otherwise delays her action.

Artival tries to maneuver around so his Burning Hands spell will miss the barbarian.

That should do it. The rats burn to a crisp and you get 360 xp each for this. You will however, have to include the barbarian in the area of effect, since they are basically crawling all over her.
The room is mostly empty. Even the bones are partially eaten. A gnawed human arm, out of reach of the rats, is stuck to the door with a dagger. Everything below the elbow has been gnawed off.
There is nothing of value here and no visible exits. Where to next?
The barbarianess yelps in surprise as much as pain as she and the rats are engulfed in flame. She scowls at the sorcerer for a moment but then slowly grins, "Nasty little things. Thanks."
Gregori strides over to Ka'kara and without a word slips a gauntleted arm around her waist, suprisingly warm as the barbarianess feels as if the summer sun were spreading across her back and midriff, radiating through her body.
"That should help," the Paladin says with a grin.
"Sorry, pretty lady! But I figure a little fire is better than a lot of rat bites..."
The barbarianess purrs back to Artival, "Especially if it gets Gregori to do this every time." She yanks the dagger out of the door and pries the hand off of it, tossing it in the corner. Flipping the dagger back to Artival, "Is it worth keeping?" She'll search the room briefly and then continue down to the next door in the hallway.
The next door is also locked and this time the key does not fit.
Since Artival is looking at the dagger, Roylenna goes over to the arm to see if there were any distinguishing marks that might identify the former owner.
Artival casts Detect Magic on the dagger.
Gregori also crouches beside Roylenna, scanning the arm to determine what severed it, and approximately how long ago.
The little woman leans against him and whispers, a twinkle in her eye, "I think you are sweet on Ka'kara."

The dagger isn't magical and not even masterwork. The arm has been gnawed by rats. What's left is just what the rats couldn't reach. It's hard to tell how old the arm is.
Gregori glances at Roylenna with a raised eyebrow, which dissolves into a roguish grin.
"And I think you're entirely too perceptive, little lady." he replies in a whisper of his own.
"Although I'm not sure I'd use the word sweet."
The halfling just giggles in response and hops to her feet. "Where to now?"
Ka'kara gives the door an appraising look, "I think I just found a use for that club." She goes back to the room and grabs it and then proceeds to bash the door in with it.
The door can't long resist the attentions of the barbarian woman. After only a few well-placed blows the lock crumbles and lets you into the room, which is about the same size as the one before. This contains 11 rat skeletons and smells horribly. There is also an old brass spittoon containing some vile liquid.
There is a door in the opposite wall.
"What's thi...? EEWWW!!"
"Yuck they never mention stuff like this in the stories."
Keeping the club in-hand just in case she needs to repeat the process Ka'kara carefully makes her way across to the other door wrinkling her nose at the smell.
"Yuck they never mention stuff like this in the stories."
Holding her nose, the other halfling nods. "I think I understand why..."
"Rat skeletons mean that thre's nothing even rats would eat, poison, or something very hungry down here. This is getting more screwed up by the minute." the Paladin says as he stand up, sword drawn, surveying the scene.
"I have to admit, I'd rather see some nice magical treasures than rat skeletons and tobacco spittoons. This isn't what I signed up for either," he laughs at Tika's comment.
The chieftain's daughter laughs, "You never know. Maybe it's a magical spittoon!"
Roylenna wrinkles her tiny nose, "Then it's broken. It should clean itself out!"
"Or contain a vile tobacco spittle monster that willalmost kill you for going too close if our current trends stand." Gregori mutters
Roylenna quickly steps away from the spittoon, pauses, and playfully scowls at the paladin.
Unable to stop her laughter, "That didn't stop you from mucking about in the latrine lil sister if I remember correctly!" She suddenly gets a more serious look, "Hey...wait a minute...is it magical?"
