Condition:

Giving up the short and unfamiliar blade to the catgirl and seeing the druid grab the spear, Vaascht contents himself to the sling and stones, also turning to the newcomer, "I would take the dagger you offered, if you can spare it, in case I run out of stones."

can't cast through it, but I'm Ok with the sling and Ray of frost. Or at least near enough.

He replies to Rinika "I wasn't trying to get rid of the spot, it was a harmless spell.
A spell that is only supposed to fix shamblers."

Nik raises his eyebrows again as he turns to his skeleton.

"Skellington, rip up anything that attacks Jek."
After a moment he adds "And stay close to him for the time being."

Added a combat slide with extra gridlines, I'm not satisfied but I spent too much time messing with it already.

You head up the stairs towards the voices carefully and quietly as you can. To the "east" a platform of stone just out from the side of the cliff. Five well-armed gray-skinned humanoids gaze out into the raging inferno that is the Elemental Plane of Fire. Two ballista sit loaded and drawn, mounted on a swinging pivot and aimed outwards into the fire. One glances in your direction dumbfounded at what he's looking at, you have only moments to act.

Jek shows one of the hobgoblins the business end of his horns and before he's even cognizant of the bariaur he falls over bleeding heavily. Vaascht's magically charged bullet skips outside and almost immediately turns to a molten ball and then disintegrates.

Rinika double moves to flank a hobgoblin with the *sigh* other shambler, trying to keep the terribly bright flames at her back as much as possible.

Vaascht hits his mark this time but it was a weak toss and doesn’t penetrate the hobgoblin’s thick leather armor. Nik’s bolts slams into his target with meaty thunk while skellington tears through the leather armor ripping ragged flesh away in the process. Jek’s horns connect into that hobgoblin’s chest caving it in completely, what’s left falls to the platform with a splatter. From within the citadel (from the “west”) a voice screams,

Goblin:
”Quit horsing around out there! You’re on duty!”

Arkynn begins to pivot the ballista but he accidentally grabs it by the release mechanism sending the loaded bolt flying into the flames where it shortly disintegrates.

”Bruh we’re under attack come help us! They knocked out Bently and Atticus isn’t gonna make it bruh!”

Vaascht finally gets the hang of his sling and pelts the yellow hobgoblin in the forehead knocking him out cold. Rinika distracts the red hobgoblin while Skellington just swipes at empty air. Arkynn grabs the other ballista and tries to swing it around almost 180 degrees but finds that there is a stop in the pivot that prevents it from turning too far. There is a red hobgoblin being harassed by a duo of undead and fires at him instead. The shot goes too high unfortunately.

Emboldened by her amazing efficacy last round and her new flanking buddy, Rinika attempts to tear into the hobgoblin with her own real life actual claws.
