Glad y'all liked it.

It just occurred to me, I don't know this boards policy on swearing. My characters can sometimes be potty mouths... Should I continue to censor them or are swear words considered ok?

I certainly don't care, break out the sailor mouth. But, as a courtesy to others, I would go with a majority vote. If there is anyone who would be offended, please voice your opinion. If not, then get your s*** together and figure out what's going on with Baris ;)

HP: 108/108, AC: 25_T:25_FF: 12, Perception +9, Initiative: +4, F: +10 _ R: +9 _ W: +13(+15 vs. fear), CMB: +7, CMD: 21, Speed: 40 ft.

If it truely is in your character's personality, I guess I would be fine with it, Generally I don't care for it, since typically it demeans the person saying it and I choose to not swear/cuss. Honesty, if you character has an intelligence 12 or higher, I would say don't, you should be able to articulate yourself. Low Intelligence and charisma, it would make sense to cuss/swear. Understand that some characters might go out of their way to make you stop swearing if it is excessive, such as my Lawful monk.

Sorry if I ranted on, it is a sore subject for me. As a DM, I drop players who can't comply with my wishes on the cuss/swearing, but alas this is not my campaign.

Please don't throw anything at me, 'cringes'. :)

I fully understand your opinion, Baris, and I'm glad you voiced it. As someone who does try to play eloquent and sophisticated players I go to great lengths to keep their language clean, though in the specific circumstances as you saw just now Tochi let slip a curse because it was an appropriate reaction to what he saw. I have one character who is highly intelligent, and chooses only to swear under great duress and only in her native tongues (elven or abyssal) as a way to sort of color her with more personality because of her upbringing and the things she has experiences in her past. I honestly can't think of any of my characters that I would feel swear "excessively" so maybe my statement of "potty mouth" was an exaggeration.

But nonetheless to keep from potentially offending anyone or breaking any rules on these boards I will choose to continue to censor my characters for the occasional slip up :)

I can see the point on excessive cursing and can see that get out of hand. I consider myself an intelligent person irl, but I use words like damn, hell, and beyond depending on the situation. I run my characters the same. Especially if someone just got barbecued! Not trying to down your opinion, Baris, just throwing in my 2 cents as a player. As a DM, like I said, it's what makes the players most comforable.

Honestly, my opinion of the matter is: see what the board ToS/rules say. I personally don't care one way or another. Want to curse? Fine by me? Don't want to curse? Cool.

If it is the occasional slip up and in character, it works! I agree with your most recent points! Kuawen, Fyrian, and Langsford.

Alrighty! What are you guys going to do next? I've got a hot post-valentines date tonight with my wife so you probably won't see much of me past six.

If it would fit, I don't mind. Say for example fire seemingly just engulfed a friend.

Come to think of it though, the only npcs I have swear tend to be bandits/thugs. Just fits them better.

I'm going Switzerland on this one.

Haha! Switzerland is a good place to be.

My dwarves and orcs tend to say things like bastard and bloody a lot, including my aforementioned normal words. The only guy that would probably not curse often would be the paladin I have. Unless it's to curse and vanquish his foes, then yes, he'll curse.

Yea Rock and I will be rather absent tonight as we're attending a church activity on marriage, so we won't be back from that until after 10 PST tonight and going to the second half of it tomorrow until 1:45PM. But I'm sure both he and I will find time to slip one more post in tonight before bed.

No worries. Depending on where you want to resolve, I can at least tell you that you can rest in this room without any fear of harm coming to you. I've still got a couple of hours of good posting, though, so if you all want to move on into the next room we can do that as well.

And I swear these fireballs are multiplying or one of you is messing with me, because they keep popping up when I move your characters!

Also, as a response to the video, this is something that most of you have probably seen, and it's more focused on video games, but it still gives me the same feeling!

I'm a little confused as to specifically which squares are considered webbed. Is it just that one big web on the pile of bones directly to Baris's right, or is it every square that has small webs on it too? Tochi is going to want to get an angle of attack on the spider on his next turn but needs to know if he can maneuver into position without getting stuck or provoking the AoO.

All the spaces with webs on them are webbed.

So, I just wanted to let you guys know that this little experiment of mine is going exactly as planned. I'm gming a game and you guys are challenging me on rules and helping me to understand them better. I couldn't be more pleased! I've learned a lot more about pathfinder through this little experience and am feeling more confident that I could run something a little more complicated. I've figured out that you don't need to know everything to do it. Between all the resources I have, the prd, the stuff on paizo, and just plain Googling rules I can pretty much figure out it. And, of course and most importantly, the help of an understanding group of PC's.

All that to say, without giving too much away, at our current pace we are about a week away from being done with this adventure. What say you all to another adventure? I've got a bunch of PDF's of modules and APs that we could pick from. The only thing I would not do is Kingmaker because I'm a pc in a Kingmaker game and I don't like reading ahead. Your character choices would be wide open, although I would probably stick to mostly standard races with exceptions on a case by case basis.

So, let me know what you think. I like the group we've got, but if you want to bow out for any reason after this adventure no offense will be taken. I will only run a recruitment thread if we dip under 4 pc's. I will put up a list of all the stuff I've got in another post this way we can have an idea of what to do.

Adventure Modules:
Carrion Hill
City of Golden Death
Curse of the Riven Sky
D0 – Hollow’s Last Hope
D1 – Crown of the Kobold King
D1.5 – Revenge of the Kobold King (Lvl 5)
D1 – Crypt of the Everflame
D2 – Seven Swords of Sin
D3 – The Demon Within
D4 – Hungry are the Dead
E1 – Carnival of Tears
E2 – Blood of Dragonscar (lvl 15)
From Shore to Sea (lvl 6)
J1 – Entombed with the Pharaohs
J2 – Guardians of Dragonfall
J3 – Crucible of Chaos
J4 – The Pact of Stone Pyramid
J5 – Beyond the Vault of Souls (Lvl 9)
LB1 – Tower of the Last Baron
LB2 – Treasure of Chimera Cove
Masks of the Living God
Master of the Fallen Fortress
S1 – Clash of the Kingslayers
TC1 – Into the Haunted Forest
U1 – Gallery of Evil
U2 – Hangman’s Noose
W1 – Conquest of Bloodsworn Valley
W2 – River into Darkness
W3 – Flight of the Red Raven
We Be Goblins

AP’s:

Rise of the Rune Lords
Curse of the Crimson Throne
Second darkness
Legacy of Fire
Council of Thieves
Kingmaker
Serpent’s Skull
Carrion Crown

This is my exhaustive list. There are some things in there we will not do, such as the one labeled lvl 16, but I didn't feel like going through them all and weeding out the ones we won't do. I might have mentioned doing the Crown of the Kobold King before, that's mostly because it's the first table top RPG anything I've ever played and we never finished it, so I'd like to see how it all plays out. But, if there's something else you all want to do by all means let me know!

Male Human Bard 1, HP 10/10, AC 14, (T12/FF12), CMD 12, Init +2, Perc +4. F+1/R+4/W+3, 30ft speed

I would so be down for continuing the group. I can't speak for the others, but I am having a blast.

In terms of continuation, I'm game for any module. In terms of APs, however, I'm a bit limited. I've played through Curse of the Crimson Throne all the way through-- I can play it and play dumb if need be, though. And I'm currently in a Second Darkness campaign and may be in a Legacy of Fire one soon. I've played a bit of Runelords and Kingmaker, but not enough to seriously affect a new game.

I'm really enjoying this too and would love to continue on into other adventures after being done with this one. Kuawen (Tochi) and I (Wilhelmina) might not necessarily want to bring the same characters, though, and I know that Tochi would be changing to a Cavalier when given the chance. We both have a ton of character ideas so we could fill just about any role.

Right now Kuawen and I are PCs in Curse of the Crimson Throne and we are expecting to join a Second Darkness campaign within a couple of months, so we wouldn't be up for repeating either of those, but probably any other one would be fine with us. If we do a longer campaign, we would probably most want to bring a couple of pet characters that we've been trying hard to tell a complete story with (so far without success; we had to bow out of the last campaign we were trying to do with them): my half-elven sorcerer and her tiefling magus. But if you want to stick closer to Core book and APG, Fyrian, we're willing to roll something else.

Half-orc Barbarian 4 - HP: 56/56 - AC: 15/T: 12/FF: 13 - Perception: +6 - Initiative: +2 - F: +7 / R: +3/ W: +1 - CMB: +6 - CMD: 18, Speed: 40

I'm in a Rise of the Rune Lords game right now, but other than that, I'm pretty much down for whatever.

Ok, so those that gives me something to think about, probably knocking a few out. I'd rather do something that's new to us and something that no one is in, but we'll see what happens.

The only reason I'm asking now is so I can get a jump on whatever we decide. I like to be a few steps ahead, which was easy for this one, but will be trickier for a full AP. That's what makes pbp nice, especially for me since I'm still learning. I'd like to say (and this is totally up to the group) that we could get started on a new campaign (and I'm assuming everyone is leaning towards a full AP) about a week after this ends. It gives me time to get my bearings, you all can work up your characters, and then we can get cracking rather quickly.

And I don't care if you carry over the same characters or work up new ones. I know that Sefyr was originally intended to be a witch but with my character limitations she became a wizard. Obviously you can tweak the characters you have already to include any campaign traits and whatever else was limiting in this character creation. I'm also going to up it to a 20pt buy and I'm even considering carrying over the xp from this to the next one, this way you'll level up a bit sooner. I'm not trying to make it too easy, because if it's getting too easy I'll just have to make it harder ;), but I'd like to reward you all for participating in what could have been a terrible experiment and making it pleasant. It won't quite get you to 2nd level, but it will get you there faster once we get started.

Sorry for the text wall, but I'm pretty excited about this!

Also, not that this is the determining factor for me, but I just took inventory and I have the pdf map-folios for Rise of the Rune Lords, Curse of the Crimson Throne, and Council of Thieves. That makes my life much easier. And out of the three of those, Council of Thieves would be the only one that no one has mentioned currently or formerly taking part in. Any thoughts? I know we haven't heard from everyone, so there is still room for commenting, but I'm leaning towards that.

Slyph/Wizard(Wind Listener, Diviner) 1, HP: 6/6, AC: 12, (T12/FF10), Int: +6, Per: +3, F/R/W: +2/+2/+2, CMB: +1, CMD +1, S: 30ft

Glad that things are going as hoped. I'm excited for this too! I've quite enjoyed this game, especially since it moves faster than most. I look forward to seeing where Sefyr ends up. With a group like this, we might actually be able to get beyond level 2!

Sounds like that leaves us, for APs, with:
Legacy of Fire(maybe)
Council of Thieves
Serpent's Skull
Carrion Crown

Too bad we can't do a Rise of the Runelords, or Jade Regent, as this would be a good segue into either of those. If this were RL, I'd just lend you mine. Of the available APs, I'd be most interested in Legacy of Fire(Genies!) or Carrion Crown(Cthulhu!) but be down with anything.

I'd also be down with doing Crown of the Kobold King. I've run players through twice and it is loads of fun.

Just as a heads up, I own and have read all of the adventure paths and most of the modules mentioned.

For myself, though I had originally intended Sefyr to be a winter witch, and she still could be, I'm actually thinking about keeping her a wizard with the Wind Listener racial archtype. Wizard who can do a the cleric's spell reformat, but into any divination spell? Very tempting. Also seems a better fit for how she's been shaping up RP wise.

I just realized I do have Jade Regent, if anyone is interested in that as well. It was tucked away in another file! So, that's on the table as a legit option that it seems no one else has played through. I've got the maps and everything for that too.

Male Human Bard 1, HP 10/10, AC 14, (T12/FF12), CMD 12, Init +2, Perc +4. F+1/R+4/W+3, 30ft speed

Alas! I'm embroiled in Jade Regent on my Sunday local group.

Haha! You're a busy man Indrick! Well, we still have the other options, as Sefyr mentioned. And don't hate me, for full disclosure I don't own all of them in the traditional sense, if you catch my drift, but I buy what I can when I can. That being said whatever we plan on doing, I may save my pennies and buy it along the way. Sefyr also pmed me about Reign of Winter, the new one that just came out. It's a few more bucks but I would be able to swing it by the time we start (I know 15.99 doesn't sound like a lot but we're on a tight save to buy a home budget, but I do get an allowance. ;) Sorry if that's TMI!) If enough people want to do it I'm game.

Male Human Bard 1, HP 10/10, AC 14, (T12/FF12), CMD 12, Init +2, Perc +4. F+1/R+4/W+3, 30ft speed

...Guess who's about to start runnning Reign of Winter too.

I'm sorry! I don't mean to be difficult. But at least it'll help your budget!

Busy, busy! Well, we'll figure something out.

On a side note, I crack myself up. You wouldn't believe the moral conundrum I just put myself through. And I realized, I can afford this! So at a minimum I'll be buying the PDF's as we go on for whatever campaign we do. I looked into subscribing because the price is right and a free PDF, but they charge an arm and a leg for shipping! It was like $6+ per volume. And lets be honest, even if I was running a home game I'm still using the PDF's, way more convenient.

You guys just witnessed a classic me, by the way. Realizing you feel guilty about something, justifying why it's ok, then breaking down and realizing all my justifications are crap and to just go ahead and do the right thing. Ah, being me...

lmao Fyrian! I understand completely, since Rock and I are on the same budget but for "pay for the wedding so we don't drown in debt". $15 suddenly seems like a lot these days, and $6 for shipping is robbery.

I don't have much to add to the conversation, since Rock pretty much covered everything, but I'm down for pretty much anything. Since we're still relatively new to Pathfinder and pbp we haven't done more than two AP's, and if I could have a chance to finally see my tiefling magus go from 1 to 20...I would be a very happy panda.

(IRL inside joke because my real name is Amanda and a South Park fan)

Ah, yes, the Sexual Harassment Panda! And I promise you that the more money you save for your wedding the better. We went way over budget for ours and ended up swiping one too many things for the next several months. Paying all that off is why we're on a stricter budget now. And you guys bringing in your characters will be just fine, though I have to admit I know very little about Tieflings and will have to do my research!

So, just to try and narrow it down, these are the ones that no one is currently in and would be willing to play in:

Legacy of Fire
Council of Thieves
Serpent's Skull
Carrion Crown

Sefyr has votes in for Legacy of Fire and Carrion Crown. I know most of you are down with whatever, but any preference between these four?

Male Human Bard 1, HP 10/10, AC 14, (T12/FF12), CMD 12, Init +2, Perc +4. F+1/R+4/W+3, 30ft speed

I think I'll toss in a vote for Carrion Crown or Council of Thieves. All in all, though, I'm cool with whatever.

Current Vote

Legacy of Fire - 1
Council of Thieves - 1
Serpent's Skull
Carrion Crown - 2

I feel very democratic right now! In the event of a tie I will be the tie breaker. I'm the one who has to dm the thing either way.

Indrick! Hush! About to start doesn't count. I want to slay Rasputin and by Gorum I intend to! ^_^

To add to the voting, what other options would people like to see besides a straight adventure path? Modules? Making Fyrian do the hard working of creating everything himself?

For hybrid campaigns, Burnt Offerings works as a good intro for Jade Regent, and Brinewall Legacy is a fun way to start Council of Thieves, and run Feast of Ravenmoor on the way. It could totally work! The beginnings of two APs, a few modules along the way, and end game of another!

Male Human Bard 1, HP 10/10, AC 14, (T12/FF12), CMD 12, Init +2, Perc +4. F+1/R+4/W+3, 30ft speed

But I've already read the book! :( otherwise I'd probably be "lol whatever," as I tend to do

Sorry I just quickly made the post, now that I have read all the posts, I will vote for Legacy of Fire.

After reading through the player's guides for each of the available AP's I have to say that I would like to cast my vote for Carrion Crown. Although Tieflings aren't mentioned in the player's guide, it does include Magus as a class and says that there will be points in the story that can be of interest to a magus player, and even mentions the archetype that I'm playing (Blade Bound). My concern then is with clearing with you, Fyrian, if I can please play my tiefling character. She is the type of character who I could see traveling through Ustalav in search of forbidden knowledge, and even reveling in the commoner's distrust of her, so long as it doesn't turn violent.

I'm working on putting together an alias for her, which will include her background story. Since I've had this character for so long, I'm afraid her back story is long (7 pages) but it's only for fun; it's not necessary to read it to understand the character.

Hey guys, sorry I haven't posted. I'm away from all my stuff right now and will be out late tonight, but I'll try to get a post in this afternoon. I probably won't be able to really move you forward until Monday, sorry about that :( Had a friend come in from out of town so it's keeping me busy, damn rl!

And here is the Alias I was talking about.

I'm casting my vote for Carrion Crown too, and if Kuawen gets the okay to bring Alyssa then I will be the elven sorcerer character that pairs with her (Starsoul bloodline).

If we go Carrion Crown, dibs on the Undead Scourge Paladin!

First of all, you guys are cracking me up with this whole eating the reefclaw thing, awesome rp! Secondly, I'm working on my next post, I'll be on tonight for a while, so if you're on let's play! Third, and pretty excitingly, it looks like we have a winner!!

Legacy of Fire - 2
Council of Thieves - 1
Serpent's Skull
Carrion Crown - 4

With 4 votes Carrion Crown is our winner. I know some people voted for a couple, but whatever! I'll get working on setting that up. If you don't have the players guide for it I'd download it and take a look. I'm stoked to be working on it! Send me your character ideas as you make them, I'll look over the Tiefling but I can't imagine why I'd say no.

But, let's focus on finishing up the Black Fang Dungeon and then we'll move on to Carrion Crown!
