Ooooh. I'm not home at present, but when I do get back I'd be delighted to roll something up!

Woo hoo! Can't wait!

A bard Snarf sounds magnificent.

Definitely interested in seeing this unfold. Thundercats hold an ever so special place in my heart.

Howdy howdy howdy! Looks like I get the privilege of joining in with you all! This is my first time with the Savage Worlds, so apologies in advance for any errors or dumb questions I will inevitably have.

Concept:

For Danny Tahoma, volunteering for the army was a no-brainer, offering him opportunities far beyond anything else he could hope to acquire back home on the Navajo reservation. He's served in the 30th for the entire duration of his time with the army. He had been relatively lucky in keeping out of the worst of the fighting... Until Aachen. He and his squad were stuck on the front lines, where they were heavily shelled by German artillery. Though his wounds were not particularly bad, Danny's talent for severe bleeding has him currently placed in the hospital for recuperation before getting tossed back out in the field.

Would you be willing to accept someone who has zero experience with Savage Worlds? I've always been interested in the system, but have not have a chance to really even read the rules. If you're willing to put up with my newbie status, I'd be delighted to hammer out a character for your game!

Huh, seems an interesting idea. Lessee...

Wealth: 2d12 + 1 ⇒ (3, 6) + 1 = 10

Color me interested. I have a human cleric loitering around from a failed Carrion Crown game if need be. It won't be any trouble for me to retool him slightly for this campaign.

But you say there are three positions filled? What all slots have been taken? I'm certainly not adverse to rolling something up from scratch if need be.

A question, if I may-- I just noticed the evening availability requirement. I take it that the game is going to take place on skype or somesuch program? If so, then I might as well back out now; posting I can do, but I work nights/evenings, so I'll never be able to guarantee a reliable presence otherwise.

Marking for potential interest. I'll see about rolling up a character after work.

Hmm, color me interested. I can't guarantee 100% availability for all the Skype sessions, if that would be a problem (accursed nonstandard work shifts!). But I'd definitely be game if you have the space.

Google docs is a fairly easy way to make battle maps for people, and is generally pretty accessible. A few devices can't properly move figures on it (such as my phone),but I've been able to post move requests in ooc comments.

Pbp is good. I also have a work schedule with hours all over the place, so that works best for me.

As for what to do, I'm open to any role. I can take the last remaining slot if everyone else has a concrete idea on what to play. If not, I can think something up.

I'd be down for a game to assist if you need more folks to fill out your roster. I'm not the most super experienced type who knows all the rules by heart, but I do have a decently solid grasp of things and am happy ho help offer pointers/play along.

I'd also be quite interested, assuming there's some dice conversion system in place. If not, I would also be agreeable to your idea for a Saga system game.

Hello! I'm one of the two remaining players from Yorgi's group. I'd be interested, but I'm not able to fully commit until I know what days we would be playing- Sundays and Mondays are out for me. Otherwise I'd be able to make most nights- I might have to skip here and there with work, but I can definitely show up most of the time.

Just rolling a few things for elsewhere. Please ignore!

Stuff:
1d100 ⇒ 33
No change!

Got a level 2 druid now, thanks to Sethious running stuff over the weekend.

O-ho. That gives me things to think about. Thank you guys!

Was looking at that. Was also looking at Saurian Shaman (DINOSAURS!) and the World Walker. Could always go vanilla too...

Then prepare to laugh at my awfulness, Brute. This is gonna be my first foray into Druid, so it will be painfully noobish. I don't have anything else to offer in the level 1-2 range.

In terms of faction and whatnot, I'm kind of blanked out. Grand Lodge makes the most sense, buuut they never much interested me. Personality I haven't gotten figured out yet. Just gonna run with it and see.

Greetings!

I think I'll be running with a druid, though I'm still not 100% sure on what sort of build/archetype I'm gonna run with.

Apologies for the slowness in getting my character set up. This is my first time using the Green Ronin system, so I'm going slow to try and not muck things up too badly. I should have something up no later than the weekend.

Here's my character's stats, and I decided I liked the notion of a bard best. Backstory will be more filled out upon request/if accepted.

As for timing and PbP's... I'm currently involved in five, as well as running one. Most are *quite* slow-paced, so it won't much affect my ability and timing to post. I'm able to post multiple times a day about 95% of the time.

Definitely interested. Would love a human rogue or alchemist, if we be needing such a role. Background puts her as a Surtova noble, hailing from a minor (but ambitious) branch of the family. With the call to explore/claim the southern lands, they see a great opportunity for a foothold in political leverage, and she is sent to represent their interests.

Marking this for interest! I'll start assembling something once I get home.

Changed Caderre's skills to match the houserule.

Not to get too involved in the bitter rolls vs point buy stat battle, but I always thought the importance of stats depended on how rollplay vs roleplay heavy the game was. I know if I was in a numberscrunch ROLL ALL THE DICE game I'd be less than enthused with my rolls. But if (from what I gather) this is more roleplay oriented, it shouldn't really be worth getting too worked up over.

5d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 3, 2, 2) = 16 = 12

Ha ha ha, oh wow. The dice gods frown upon me today. I'll have Caderre 2.0 up in a few!

So, all this back and forth has me a bit confused: are we going with rolling for ability scores as opposed to the original 22 point buy? I don't feel particularly strongly one way or the other, but if we are going with rolls, I just want to fix up my application for it.

Tossing up my offer for consideration here. Changes will be made if campaign-related things pop up that would require it.

Definitely thinking of rolling a noble type, though I'm torn on aristocrat/bard or aristocrat/fighter. A foppish duelist type sounds just so fun.

Marking this! Looks awesome!

Putting up everything that needs rolling so I have it all in one place.

Marking the thread for future reference.

Also Radavel, I told you I was leaning towards an Explorator, but if no one is willing to play the Rogue Trader, I have no issue filling that role. I'm flexible.

Edit because phones make me a slow poster-- Explorator it is! Praise the Omnissiah!

Though it's sci-fi, the soundtrack for the Battlestar Galactica series has a few pieces that could fit right in with the rest. "Roslin Escapes" springs immediately to mind for a Tian action scene.

Dotting for interest!

Honestly, my opinion of the matter is: see what the board ToS/rules say. I personally don't care one way or another. Want to curse? Fine by me? Don't want to curse? Cool.

Looking forward to it!

I can definitely post twice a day, but my time would mostly be limited to the evenings, as my workplace is very not internet friendly. I can hop on when things are super slow, but those days would be pretty rare.

Arsène Perreault. French dissident/semi-unwilling refugee from Vichy France (thanks to the valiant efforts of the Emergency Rescue Committee), who immediately went to the nearest US Army recruitment office he could find once he was on American soil. He was laughed right back out on the street, but that did not stop the determined young man from trying again. And again. His persistence finally won out in the end. He's not had any combat experience yet, but he is chomping at the bit to get back to France and fight for its independence, even if it is under a foreign flag.

I suppose he'll have an M1911 and an M1 Carbine.

I used traits for Indrick, but if I'm reading Fyrian's post correctly they are completely optional.

As for location: Pennsylvania, USA here.

My choice of Rogue archetype is going to be determined by this one question: will there be any extensive vehicle-related things? If so, I'll plan on taking the Driver archetype.

Aaaand I might as well make the team be all like the Howling Commandos (or Blackhawks, if one prefers DC Comics) by playing a Frenchman.

I'm looking at a couple rogue archetypes. Still hoping to play a radio operator/tech guy role, but I'm still not entirely decided on how to try and pull it off.

1 person marked this as a favorite.
Abith wrote:
I dont think WW2 was much of a place for hand to hand combat

Mad Jack Churchill would like a word with you.

Still, crazy claymore-wielding Brits aside, I'm pretty darned sure hand-to-hand combat popped up more than one would think.

Kind of intrigued to play a Navajo code-talker/radio operations specialist, but sadly they worked on the Pacific side of the war.

Now that I'm home and am finally sitting here at my desk, ready to make my character, I am presented with a question for you, Fyrian. What are your rules for character creation? I see you requested 15 point buy, but I'm also curious in regards to equipment. Class average, I assume? Any further limits/requests, etc? I know you want to stick to the core as closely as possible. Does that also exclude traits?

Bard it is, then!

Cool, cool, looks like everyone has ideas. Makes it easy for me to pick up a rogue. Or bard. I'll roll something up soon as I get home from work.

I'd definitely be down for a game like this. Willbe sure to keep an eye out for futther developments.

I'm honestly curious as well. I don't have much in the way of GM experience, but I do have a decently solid foundation on the rules of the system, should that be sufficient for you.
