Come, meet, discuss! I know there are 6 people which was my max, which will make some of these initial encounters easier. But I promise if you help me by working through them with me, I will work into some more intricate plots and more difficult encounters. I've got to be done with this for the night, so I'm off, but thank you for your interest and I look forward to playing together.

Tochi Exos |

Hello! Reporting in to confirm that I got my PM and am ready to play. This is my first time doing a PbP on these boards though I've done freestyle roleplay on forums before, so if I'm doing things incorrectly please let me know. I very much look forward to adventuring together.
Also Fyrian, I went ahead and made a character sheet at myth weavers and have included the link to that sheet in my profile.

GM Fyrian |

Ok, so I'm going to try and let everyone else at least check in before I move forward. And since I am learning to GM, I'll probably have to go back and mention a few things I forgot to say, which are usually no big deal but somethings I want to address.
Such as... "Using bold and quote marks for what your character is saying," and regular text to narrate what they're doing before and after.
And... Making sure that if you want to say something out of character (ooc) that you use this style, or if it something that you really don't think goes in game play, such as a question about a rule, just post in discussion.
Those two are what you'll use most often besides dice rolls. The only thing I would mention beside that is to just look at the "How to format your text" list below the post box, it has all the commands you need, the guide just tells you the situations in which to use them. Don't hesitate to ask for help here in discussion, I'll be more than happy to explain anything that doesn't make sense.
Those are just two things that I wanted to point out. In the future I'll probably make up a personal guide to how I would like to run my games like other GM's I've seen, but that's why I'm doing this, to learn!

GM Fyrian |

Also, I know I said I wasn't going to move forward until everyone checked in, but I want to make sure all the glitches are worked out and everyone can use the map. In gameplay I'm going to post the link for the map and the next story line post, but don't start moving into the cave or anything until my cue, which I'm waiting for everyone to arrive and post here. Just click onto the map, make sure you can move your game piece around, and let me know if there are any problems. The maps are home made so the scale might be wonky from map to map, but such is life! Looking forward to getting started.

Kuawen |

I'm afraid that I am unable to move myself on the map, but I think that's probably because I am trying to do so from my smart phone which is the only way I am able to access this site during my work day. I can either move myself when I get home in the evenings around 5PM pst or I can have Rockman move my icon for me. I am able to view the map at least and remain active in the game play section. I hope this isn't a problem.

GM Fyrian |

Yeah, moving from a smartphone or tablet doesn't really work out that well. If you want me to move you I'm more than willing, just post ooc where you want to go if you make an action. For now, since we're waiting for everyone to check in, we won't worry about movement until we start going into the cave.

GM Fyrian |

Ok, that's good to know Indrick. Since some of you are posting from smart phones, what I said for Kuawen applies for everybody. It mostly applies when we're in battle, but if you want to do something, go up and touch something and you don't have access to move your piece, just post in ooc where you want to go and what you want to do and I'll make it happen. If you have access at the moment and can move your piece, then go for it!

Baris the Monke |

I am new to PbP as well. Please give me constructive criticism if you think necessary. I am open to helpful notes.
In another thread I have been able to edit my postings, I don't see that option anymore, any ideas?
Checking in, last night I was busy and fell into bed but I am here now!
(Sorry I posted as another Alias.)

GM Fyrian |

You can edit your post for a while, but at some point it becomes permanent. I don't know when, but I didn't notice that until I tried to put the character creation guidelines in my top post of the recruitment thread. Anyhow, no worries about being new, just check out the post I put up with the guide, that will be very helpful.
Looks like Baris was the last one, just post up in gameplay and once you've done that I'll get the ball rolling.

GM Fyrian |

Good to know! The only person who doesn't look like they've moved is bladecatcher, but he also hasn't said he can't. I also can't remember where he was.
A couple of housekeeping things. Everyone at this point needs to have your full character sheet in your alias description. This has some pertinent information that I need and it's hard when I have to go hunting for it. Some of you do not have this, please fix it... you know who you are ;)
Also, some of the gameplay information that I need all the time can posted right on your character right in the forum. "How is that?" you may ask. Well let me tell you! Just post this in your Class/Levels area of your profile:
Fighter Lv 1 HP: 13/13, - AC: 18/T: 12/FF: 16 - Perception: +7 - Initiative: +4 - F: +4 / R: +2/ W: +2 - CMB: +4 - CMD: 16, Speed: 20
This is one of my characters (click the link for an example of what it looks like in game), obviously you need to fill in the info for your character. Any questions on what is what, let me know.
This way if I need to roll something for you (by the way I'll be rolling a lot of your saving throws, perception, initiative, things like that, you roll for damage) I can do it without having to dig up your character sheet.
Sorry for all the late housekeeping, and thank you for complying!
And there is a post coming, I promise, I just wanted to put this up first.

Baris the Monke |

Sorry guys for being late, my schedule for the day was pushed back like crazy. Please excuse me!

Baris the Monke |

I was just wondering what time most people will be be posting during the day? I am in GMT, 7pm to 9pm are my regular times.

Sefyr Kasumisdottir Norðrljós |

I'm MST, posting usually in the morning before 8:30, checking in around 11, and then off the grid from 12-5, usually/sometimes. Sleep begins anywhere from 5pm-3am(Crazy schedule is crazy) so sometimes I will preemptively post if it looks like action is going to happen while away.

Tochi Exos |

Yea like Rock said we're pst and I work from 7am till 5PM every weekday but Friday where I only work till 11AM. Getting to post from my phone at work is fun because of this teenie tiny keyboard, a network connection that likes to drop me just as I hit "submit" and auto correct likes to think it's helping me with my writing but it's really not lol. Ironically enough my availability to post when I'm at home is really limited because when I'm not at work I'm planning Rock and I's irl wedding in May. Fun times. But I'd much rather have my smart phone and get to try to post on that then to not have anything and have to wait until nighttime to catch up.

GM Fyrian |

Well, no worries. And congratulations on the wedding! I just got married in July and don't miss the planning part one bit. My wife on the other hand just said the other day that she misses our wedding and jokes that she'd like to have another one because she misses the planning part! She's in a wedding right now so it's giving her the fever.

Baris the Monke |

Well, I just got done substituting a high school ;health class and mostly girls in the class. I have been snickering, trying to hold it all in... a few exclamations later they are wondering if I am laughing at their conversations. None of them asked what I was doing on the computer. Just don't make eye contact with the male substitute and I will live through this class period.
;)
hehehehehahahahahahehehehehehe...LOL

GM Fyrian |

Alrighty, I'm just about to take off. I probably won't be back on for a couple of hours (paizo.com permitting) and I will see where everyone is at. Hopefully those of you who can't check in as much during the day will get a chance to come in and do a few things before we move on.
It seems like you all are going to be attempting to jump the goblins in the next room. I'll be ready for that if that's what you're thinking about doing. However, I leave you with this thought... there is another door. Have fun and I look forward to seeing what you all come up with next. This is becoming a lot of fun!

The Animation workshop puts out a lot of cool stuff:
This one is thematically similar, but with a completely different tone.
And This... This is just nuts.
