Nightdeath - I didn't base my opinion on his build or stats. They didn't come into it. I just felt his backstory was too simple, ironically enough.
He seemed like the type to say very little and would just be happy mindlessly fighting those his allies fought, so I was worried about how much roleplay could be offered with such a simple guy. My rules for rolling and the stats themselves had nothing to do with it. I in fact briefly glanced at the build, because it was the story I was more concerned about, as well as the characters intentions and motivations.
In short - I wanted heavily motivated characters with clear goals in mind, but thanks very much for the submission. :)
I'll probably reference and cameo him at some point, haha.

Tavern Buddies!Your turn: Ultimate Campaign pg 49, if you want.
Y'know, that would be a really funny tavern buddy relationship. One's an upper class thespian (as far as I could tell); the other's a common thief that favors brute strength. If you want to go with that, I say we dream up a funny story as to how that happened. (Maybe not too funny. This is supposed to be a campaign with serious tones, after all; but I can't help but snicker at this image.)
Checking out that page in Ultimate Campaign now.

Love it! Yeah, Dahrehn is definitely well-spoken, but comes from humbler roots. Let me think on this. Some funny, some serious - the Tiefling and the Aasimar getting into scrapes together. I have some free time this afternoon, should have a thing in a bit.
Also - I need to update Dahrehn's physical appearance description in his profile.
Just updated to include the seven questions, too.

Cortez: Looking at the downtime rules, and with Dahrehn's extra income from his trait, what would you say to Dahrehn owning and staffing a small bar with a bedroom over it in one of the city districts? I'd readjust his equipment to be able to take 10 on checks to earn capital so that he could build a bar, a common room, and a bedroom (total: 425 GP). Only the bar and common room would earn income; the bedroom is where he lives. This cuts down on his starting gear, but also provides additional livelihood. I can rework profile if you think this is ok.
Thoughts?

It's entirely up to you. Though I feel a small acting school of Dramatic Arts would probably suit Dahrehn more. Gives more reason for him to spill his heinous opinions of the government authority. It could double as your own kind of resistance force in the making, hidden behind the facade of a simple acting school. He's your character though. ;)
As for knowing each other, I didn't specifically say anything, but I chose you all because of how different your backgrounds and motives were to one another's, so if you're okay with it all, I'd prefer you didn't know each other beforehand, but that's just how I feel. You'll know each other soon enough, though!

Fair enough! I'll go take a peek at the discussion thread now.

I assume the slight rearrangemet of stats would be okay? Dropping the 16 chr to say 14 to perhaps boost str or wisdom?
starting wealth. = original was 3d6 that ended up as 12 for 120 adding
additional wealth: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 5) = 11 so would adding the 110 for armor as an urban ranger whom just happens to sing often be okay?

            You can rearrange them, yea.
They're currently:
Strength	10
Dexterity	14
Constitution	12
Intelligence	14
Wisdom	10
Charisma	16
So you could change them to:
Strength	16
Dexterity	14
Constitution	12
Intelligence	14
Wisdom 10
Charisma	10
Or
Strength	16
Dexterity	14
Constitution	12
Intelligence	10
Wisdom 14
Charisma	10
or whatever...
So long as you have a 10, 10, 16, 12, 14, 14 which you rolled, I'm happy for you to rearrange them, jut no drops and increases to change those numbers. :)
As for the wealth, yea, you've done it under my rule, rolling the amount your class should have, so there's no issue there. :)
It is a serious campaign though, because I need it to be to put emphasis on certain events, so as long as you're not silly with your character, I'd be happy to include him.
I'll decide when I return from work what's happening, man. :)

going str-12 dex-16 con-10 int 14, wis- 10 chr- 14
getting chain shirt armor, dropped extra performance for combat reflexes, shifted 2 skill points from use magic device to stealth, and from disguise to perform acting.

I’m reposting my character’s information so you don’t need to dig through the thread’s pages to find it. I changed his background slightly, regarding his reason for being back in Westcrown.
Backstory: The fifth son in an acting family, Casarus Abragailonie grew up in Westcrown and Egorian for the most part. The Abragailonie family has been acting since before the Civil War. If a person didn’t become an actor, they worked in the theater in another creative capacity; designing sets, crafting costumes, and occasionally writing. Casarus started with walk on roles, page boys delivering letters, a dancing imp in a hellish landscape, a small bear helping the hero. Even before the applause of the first day on stage, he found the rehearsals and art of acting wonderful.
At the age of six, his Uncle Cardin, despite all warnings, performed The Third Prisoner, a tale many believe about the Civil War despite being set in an imaginary land called “Vandolista.” Many Wiscrani consider the play an insult to the nobility, especially Houses Arvanxi, Oberigo, and Phandros. The first night was a disaster. Uncle Cardin was immolated on stage. The theater burned down and two audience members died. His family left Westcrown and haven’t returned since. Casarus has been afraid of any fire larger than a campfire ever since. He does get nervous around campfires and even torches.
He’s aware that sometimes the applause he receives is a bit forced, but that’s mostly due to the audience not understanding his performance. Only rarely does he forget a line or have trouble with blocking. He thinks that he is a better actor than given credit for; especially by his family. After years of watching his brothers get the parts he wanted, Casarus’s first central role was Lt. Narrix in the play The Missing Fleet at the age of nineteen. He trained with the trident for the role and has loved the weapon ever since. Indeed he views himself as an actor specializing in martial plays. He convinced his parents to let him train with soldiers and mercenaries to learn how to fight. If he wasn’t an actor, he probably become a soldier.
Now, at the age of twenty-one, Casarus is tired of years spent in the shadows of his older brothers. He decides to return to Westcrown and revive his family’s glory. His older brothers may be more handsome and wittier, but Casarus isn’t afraid of Westcrown.
Personality:
•	He feels entitled to getting his way in most things, most of the time.
•	If he offends someone he usually claims he was only joking.
•	He likes drinking excessively.
•	He prefers socializing with artists, actors, playwrights, musicians, and clerics of Shelyn.
Reason for being in Westcrown: He returned to Westcrown to work as an actor and show his family that he is a better actor than they give him credit for. He plans to make enough money and prestige to stage The Third Prisoner. He knows it will take years before he can produce a play in his uncle’s honor to match his vision, but he has the anger and desire to prove to his family that he is a great actor. He brought a trunk filled with books; multiple copies of seven different plays. The Missing Fleet, A Devil Named Phurtklevart, The Broken Bridge, Sweet Poison, Wicked Fun Half Begun, A Wiscrani on Even-Tongued Day and Jakthion and the Shriikirri-Quah Princess. He hopes to found an acting troupe. Casarus also came to Westcrown to investigate the death of his uncle. There are various rumors why he was killed, and he wants to know the truth. If possible to see the offenders brought to justice even better. (If this doesn’t have any connection to the adventure, that’s fine. I’m merely stating that as a narrative device to explain why he is investigating into the corruption and powerful Houses of Westcrown.)
2. Where do you frequently visit in Westcrown? Visits the ruined theater where his uncle died about twice a month, usually every other Oathday. Also, Miratanza is a good place to eat cheap food and talk to servants to find nobles that may become patrons.
3. Where do you work (if you do)? When not in a performance he manages to get hired as a body guard. When he’s really desperate he will act as an escort during the night, carrying a person’s haloran for half a silver.
4. How do you conceal your feelings of treason/rebellion from those in power? He plays the fool, will say things so absurd that no one should take him seriously. Another tactic is to attribute treasonous words to a monologue from “an obscure play” he learned years ago. He probably doesn’t realize how dangerous his words can be.
5. How would people looking to make a difference in Westcrown know of you? They would probably know of him as an ambitious actor wanting to stage great Chelish classics, like his uncle. They might also see him to be used as a decoy, for the Westcrown powers to focus on him while they go about their plots.
6. What are your hobbies? Practicing fighting with the trident, playing music, scouring book shops for plays, and singing.
7. What do you do at night/day? When not working, he enjoys drinking at taverns, playing music. Discussing great plays and pieces of literature.

thinking about it,are you anti dual classing? Only because from the sounds of this Ap and the players guide my personal favorite goddess would be appropriate (Milani for the win) patron of those who fight against oppresion and unjust rule. A cleric ranger would fit well. If you are not pro dual classing I will adjust to a cleric when i get home from work. having like 24 hours to think about it made me really want to do the cleric. I hope it doesnt seem wishy washy. No pressure to select me either, I like building charectors *lawls*

Not got a problem with multi-classing and I often do it myself when I play my own characters. In fact, most of my characters are multi-classed.
I've got a Two-handed Fighter/Beastmaster Ranger that I play in Legacy of Fire, a Fighter/Barbarian with 4 archetypes that stack who's focused on damage reduction and keeping a hand free, and I have my GMPC for the Rise of the Runelords game I run for a friend and my girlfriend who's a Fighter/Cleric. Also got a Fighter/Ranger for Carrion Crown.
Absolutely fine with it. I think multi-classing actually does optimise you if done right and although against min/max'ing, I'm happy with you to optimise to a degree, just not blatant min-max'ing.
No word from Sonya yet either.

Just looking over you two now. :)
Edit: This decision poses somewhat of a problem for me. The party will consist of 3 actors, 1 military man and 1 street urchin. My reasoning for not wanting another bard is the same reason for not wanting another actor.
Each of the current characters in the party so far, offer something different.
Casarus is too similar to Dahrehn, as is Trendon. Though Trendon is seeming to have the upper hand here slightly, because he's more of a street performer who seems to act to get by, where as Dahrehn and Casarus have it as a prestiged profession.
Really, I don't want another actor in the party because I'm after diversity, but I don't know what to say apart from that.
I'll leave further decisions up to you guys, but Dahrehn was actually picked over you two as I felt his characters personality was the strongest submission in that field.

If it will help, I don’t mind pulling out of consideration since it seems Trendon overall has a slight edge over Casarus. No hard feelings on my part. I seem to have better luck at making characters for GM written campaigns rather than APs. This is my second character for Council of Thieves not to be taken. The other was a half-orc monk, teaching women self-defense. Anyway, good luck!

You have a good character, so don't feel like that!
I don't like making players change their concepts, but I just don't feel another actor is something that would work well in the group. Maybe a political strategist or some kind of fallen guard would work with those we have. Still, if you want to roll up another character, go nuts! :)

I merely had that background because of the trait to be honest with his parents. I was trting not to go too far from the initial concept but it could be changed to wesrcrown firebrand and the point actuallyvput to use. Let me edit a bit. And honestly go for it tom i would love tovsee what you come up with as well.

Made some changes to tbe backstory to distance from the acting, dropped traits for more appropriate ones. (westcrown firebrand instead of the famous parents one, and fast talker instead of talented) took the skill points from the two perform skills and put them into heal and stealth. And edited the backstory as well. Wealth should be the same, just unmasterworked the guisarme. (which would have been the 300 difference from the 1st trait anywho.)
Good luck tomtesserae!

Here's "Elbin Obias" -- I think that's everything, but I wouldn't be surprised to learn I forgot something. Something very basic. ;)
Backstory: Dorivax ”Elbin Obias” Tengis is a human Chelaxian. He grew up in Egorian. His grandparents are servants in a noble house of Cheliax. In exchange for their position, they pledged the service of their family members to the devil Phyvax. Every three years one person is chosen to serve. Dorivax has watched his cousins get selected (and honored) while his parents look at him with shame. He is either lacking or simply too average. His parents never ceased pointing out his faults. Too weak and clumsy to be a warrior. Not smart enough to study magic. Helpless with matters of prayer and faith. Too fearful for the stage. No wonder Phyvax never chose him.
His younger brother, Fonris, was chosen last year. Dorivax was conflicted. He wanted to be chosen, for his parents to be proud. He also found the practice barbaric and vile. He wished his grandparents never made the pledge to Phyvax.
When his younger brother was chosen, he decided he needed to leave. He planned for nine months and slipped away one night. He set many false clues about going to Absalom. In fact he went to Westcrown, reasoning that would be the last place his family would look for him, if they even did. He changed his name to “Elbin Obias” and is always rather vague with his past when questioned.
Personality:
•	Shy, not very forth coming with his opinions, unless directly asked. Often agrees with whomever is “leading” the group.
•	Does his best not to offend or say disparaging things about people.
•	He avoids alcohol. Anything that would make him lose focus. Drinks tea.
•	He tries to be helpful when somebody asks for a favor. He goes out of his way to help them.
Reason for being in Westcrown: Cheliax is his homeland. Despite its problems he doesn’t want to leave. He thinks Westcrown will give him the anonymity to disappear and not be found by his family.
2. Where do you frequently visit in Westcrown? The Rego Aerum is a good place to enjoy the quiet of a park while feeding birds.
3. Where do you work (if you do)? He is a ferryman. He might not be strong, but he can row boats for most of the day. He usually moves cargo from ships to their destination in the city, but he does passengers as well. He wants to be a stable boy or work with animals.
4. How do you conceal your feelings of treason/rebellion from those in power? He’s pretty tightlipped. He also regularly goes to the Qatada Nessudidia temple to look devout.
5. How would people looking to make a difference in Westcrown know of you? Elbin gives an air of confidentiality. People often will vent their frustrations while he rows them through the canals and doesn’t betray their secrets. He also is secretly an abolitionist; he’s known to be extremely polite to halflings.
6. What are your hobbies? He likes recording what ships are in port. Also collecting coins from various nations.
7. What do you do at night/day? Elbin searches for stray dogs and cats and attempts to give them food, get them veterinary care, and maybe find them a home. He knows of a pigeon flock on Rego Cader that is comfortable with his presence.

No, I'm giving the PC's more time to roleplay at the minute, so I haven't decided on anything yet.
She has returned and given reasons for being absent but considering I hadn't heard anything for a week, I felt it fair I opened recruitment once more and don't think it'd be fair to just say sorry guys, the player returned because I don't like getting hopes up.
At the same time, I don't want to run a 6 player campaign either, so it will only be 5 players as I feel that's best.
I'll be deciding at some point later. Was hoping for no complications, but we shall see.

Well, I've said to Sonya that in light of the situation, I'll be inviting someone else and if anyone drops out she can be the first to jump back in because the way her character is allows me to just throw her back in at any point.
I'm happy that the conclusion I've come to is the fairest way I could do things.
There was no sign of her for a week. She could have let us know using her phone if that has net, through a friends computer or any other way, so mentioning in here that I'd be looking for a replacement wouldn't be fair on you guys, so one of you will be getting in. I mainly chose Sonya for her background and gender, purely because I wanted some diversity, but that's a little out the window now, ha!

Trendon - You're in, but I'd like you to format your character stats like I do with mine (use my Apollo alias for example), spoiler your skills in your class box, including what the others players have (so they appear as a drop down I can click on), and please can you fill in my 7 questions so I can effectively bring you in.
Please don't post anything until I say though, because I'll need to set up your introduction.
Thanks!
Tom - I think the main thing with your new character was that he seemed like someone who just wants a simple life, and wanting to remain anonymous to his own family would be a problem as soon as you were known through Westcrown as becoming a hero to the people/treasonous to those in power. I could see the benefits to being a ferryman, but I just kind of felt the character wasn't suited to the AP.
Apologies and thanks very much for your interest! :)

Thanks, and can you please spoiler your stats as I have done with Apollo? There's too much clicking on your profile my friend. It would save me a lot of time if you just put the stat block down as one spoiler.
Thanks, and I'll take a read later in more detail. On work lunch break atm.
Tom - Thank a lot for your contribution. The party balance I already have was something stopping me from including your original character also, but I wish you all the best in future campaigns and if I ever run anymore, please feel free to submit your character! :)
