BACKGROUND - Trendon Razner grew up the son of a famous performing family. His father was considered by many one of the finest men on stage in decades many even whispered he had dark pacts with infernal agencies to keep so successful for so long. His mother was a mid level Chelish Opera Songstress who retired from her burgeoning career when her pregnancy with Trendon hampered her career.
His father was rarely home, and Trendon was raised by his doting if not depressed mother. Rumours always flew around about his father,How he was linked to this noble daughter or even the wife of this house or that. Everytime the latest rumour swirled it seemed to kill another peice of his mother. When he hit his teenaged years, he was sent to a famous college of bardic training in the capital leaving his mother even more alone and distraught. He was sixteen when he recieved the letter that his mother had been arrested for the murder of his father and the 'disfiguring' of his current lover, a local duchess's daughter that was Trendon's age.
He raced home, but before he arrived his mother was tried and found guilty. . . and she disapeared. What money and coin left to him disapeard far too quickly, the young man almost drank and drugged himself to death. It was there near the bottom of the pits of dispair that something, fate perhaps, whispered in his ear. Rumors had it his mother was still alive, locked away in some asylum somewhere. Almost broke, he sold the family manor for a pittance, the only thing he kept from that home was the clothing on his back, and his somewhat famous great great grandfathers Guisarme.(he was a warrior of some repute).
Trendon now works the street, works taverns and bars, His dark and somber songs have however begun to earn him some small fame of his own, he uses his growing fame to seek out information on his mother.

Appearance: Trendon is of an average height and build, with pale skin and ravendark hair to match his peircing blue eyes. He is thin but wirey, and pulls off that intense brooding artist look better than most.

I will make a profile here shortly, Let me know if anything needs modified. Thanks for the consideration.

This is Amir's player typing; just making a non PFS alias to use.

Do we need to make a separate profile for this game, or am I fine using the Mythweavers sheet I presented earlier? I prefer using Mythweavers, as it's cleaner for me to edit.

Dahrehn Hallea, actor and Aasimar-about town!

Starting Wealth: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 5) = 15 x10+300 = 450 GP

Please check the previous page. Stat rolling has been changed.

It's not that I haven't thought of character creation well enough (that's kind of insulting), but what I was hoping to happen didn't work out with 3d6, so to update once again We are using 4d4+2 for stats now.

Everyone else - Thank you for your submissions so far. The new rolling is proving to be far better.

Sovereign Court

I have no problem with my current 3d6 build. At least I think so.

I'm submitting Araraxus Black Star for your consideration.

Right ... Rona'n is complete now, his backstory has been properly tailored to this campaign although I can still answer any questions you may have Cortez.

This is looking to be an interesting line-up so far ... and I'm the only Elf! Does everyone else have Dark-vision? If so I may switch out a racial trait to grant myself it too, pointless if everyone has it but one person.

I'm working on a fighter (cad). Child of infamy trait. Human, most likely. Will post it later today.

1. 4d4 + 2 ⇒ (4, 3, 4, 1) + 2 = 14

Jovinus is a human so no Dark Vision here. I dont even have low light!

fighter hit points: 1d10 ⇒ 4

Not even average, but could be worse. :P

Just so you all know, this recruitment is still open and will likely be open for the next week, unless I can form a decent party beforehand.

Scarab Sages

I was going to say that i am a human as well but miss Jovinus beat me to it.

Haven't forgotten about this, just having some writer's block with character ideas :)

Scarab Sages

From what ive gathered (and i might have missed someone) in no particular order we have
Amir Haram - Character idea - Tiefling Ranger 'sonya'
NightDeath - Character idea - Human Barbarian 'Simple Jawl'
Rosanath...NSG - Character idea - Elf Fighter - 'Rona'n'
Kokyu - Character idea - Tiefling rogue 'Kiel'
turnip head - Charector idea - Human witch 'AbberforthBlackbone'
Helaman - Character idea - Human wizard - 'Wilhelm Kalshane'
Jrcmarine - Character idea- Staff Magus - 'Jovinus Corinne'
The Nine - Character idea - Human Bard - 'Trendon Reznor'
Jason Lilis - Character idea - aasimar bard - 'Dahrehn Hellea'
Wehrpig- Character idea - Tiefling Paladin - 'Araraxus Blackstar'
tomtesserie - Character idea - fighter?

look about right?

I'm on there so I'm happy =)

Seeing a distinct lack of divine characters in that lineup, so I'll kick around some ideas for a healer-type :)

Scarab Sages

I thought it might help for those mulling ideas!

Thanks for the roundup Nine. It's much appreciated!

Of note - I'm going to be tailoring a lot of conversation/roleplay specifically to your characters, so in depth backstories as to why your rebellious attitude against the new order of Westcrown would be noticed, will be a great help for me to get a feel of each of your characters.

Motivations, reasons for taking up arms, stories based around all that's happening within Westcrown right now would all be great assets.

Classes - Only play those you want to play for the long haul please. I'm not too worried about people playing Classes just to balance the party, so if you want to play a Cleric do so, and if you want to play anything else, the same applies. I want you all to play concepts you'll find to be great fun and are unlikely to get bored of!

Scarab Sages

I know that Trendon certainly has issues with the way things are. He blames his father and of course the way high society Cheliax is for his mothers disapearance. Anything that would let him strike back against the ruling class would be a welcome goal... while trying to discover if his mother was indeed still alive somewhere in some asylum somewhere or dead. For long term planning, certainly bard more bard and some bard some more, but depending on how the stories go there might be a dip into something martial to better fight the good fight, or something arcane, for simular reasons. But bard, aiding allies for sure!

Grand Lodge RPG Superstar 2014 Top 16

Hmm if need be I could create a Cleric as well- but am REALLY excited to possibly play my Staff Magus.

Grand Lodge

Given you've a week to go in recruitment and a fair number of players + the above staff magus, I'm going to drop out before things get too serious and focus on planning for my up coming Carrion Crown game.

Wishing you luck Cortez. I think you found the right generation model with that 4d4 + 2 thing over the 3d6.

I don't mind playing a cleric and actually have a concept that's been kicking around my head that might fit well here; just have to work on a background and such. The same general idea would work with an oracle too, though slightly different :)

Thanks Helaman - It looks that way. :)

Don't feel you need to drop out though. I'm yet to make final decisions.

Hmm, I'll keep my earlier rolls, but I'm curious

4d4 + 2 ⇒ (2, 3, 1, 1) + 2 = 9
4d4 + 2 ⇒ (1, 3, 4, 1) + 2 = 11
4d4 + 2 ⇒ (4, 4, 4, 2) + 2 = 16
4d4 + 2 ⇒ (4, 4, 1, 1) + 2 = 12
4d4 + 2 ⇒ (4, 1, 4, 1) + 2 = 12
4d4 + 2 ⇒ (3, 1, 2, 4) + 2 = 12

Hmm, 16 point buy.

A few more tries:

4d4 + 2 ⇒ (3, 4, 3, 4) + 2 = 16
4d4 + 2 ⇒ (1, 1, 2, 1) + 2 = 7
4d4 + 2 ⇒ (2, 4, 1, 1) + 2 = 10
4d4 + 2 ⇒ (1, 3, 3, 3) + 2 = 12
4d4 + 2 ⇒ (3, 3, 4, 1) + 2 = 13
4d4 + 2 ⇒ (3, 1, 1, 1) + 2 = 8

4d4 + 2 ⇒ (3, 1, 2, 3) + 2 = 11

4d4 + 2 ⇒ (3, 3, 1, 2) + 2 = 11
4d4 + 2 ⇒ (3, 1, 4, 4) + 2 = 14
4d4 + 2 ⇒ (1, 1, 4, 1) + 2 = 9
4d4 + 2 ⇒ (4, 4, 2, 1) + 2 = 13

4d4 + 2 ⇒ (4, 1, 2, 1) + 2 = 10
4d4 + 2 ⇒ (3, 4, 4, 4) + 2 = 17
4d4 + 2 ⇒ (1, 3, 3, 3) + 2 = 12
4d4 + 2 ⇒ (2, 2, 2, 3) + 2 = 11
4d4 + 2 ⇒ (4, 1, 2, 3) + 2 = 12

1 person marked this as a favorite.

The Nine : It took me a while to find me on your list, you spelt my name wrong :P Also what does NSG mean?

Seeing as there are a few Humans in the mix now, I won't worry about the dark-vision unless for some reason no Humans are picked. Being a guard, I had thought about being a night-guardsman ... so Cold Resistance may make a bit of sense, in a fluff kind of way. But will depend on the final team and if I make the cut.

As for class, I will be sticking with Fighter for a while and then thinking about going into Duelist.

Rona - If I pick you, it'll be for your current build, so if anyone has any changes they'd like to make, please make them before the deadline. :)

The deadline will be this Friday for ALL submissions, but I may choose the party beforehand depending on how much I like each character when I review them.

Stories tailored to this campaign will be the ones I will consider the most, so if they have backstories that go outside of this campaign, because I'm currently unsure on whether I'll be including much homebrew story or not, could possibly make your sheet less favourable to me.

It's just a heads up though. I like things to remain within the scope of the campaign, so please consider this carefully.

I'm not a dictator, just a friendly GM giving you a heads up. :)

It's sad to see no Half-Elf love, but keep those entries coming!

I'll also start with the Character Sheet reviews today as I have a few days off work. :)

Any questions, I'll fire them your way on here.

Here is the actual profile sheet for the Nines.

Ah right, understandable. I will try to work out which is better for Ronan and see if I should trade out the immunities for the resistances. Do you think it makes sense for someone who works at night to have a small amount of cold resistance, to fight off the cold air? I know it would usually be Endure Elements, just want your take on it before I commit myself.

To be honest, there would be little reason for you to resist the cold over anyone else. I imagine Cheliax to have a fairly normal climate, though this AP may prove me wrong when I get through the later books.

It's up to you. :)

How do you feel about animal companions in a city? >.>

Right I have made my final adjustments. I have chosen to have the Dark-vision racial trait. So Ronan now has 60 Dark-vision. He does not have any elemental resistances though.

Ronan is officially finished.

@Lady - What were you thinking? Dogs and Cats could work. Saying that though, in Curse of the Crimson Throne, someone has a pet Crocodile and it is fantasy, so fill me in a little on your thought progress. :)

@Rona - Thanks. I'll check him out again.

One of the two character concepts I was debating on is a Lunar Oracle who is investigating the happenings in the city via the Shadow Child campaign trait. One of their possible revelations gives them an animal companion but the options are limited to bear, boar, crocodile, shark (uhh), tiger, or a wolf. I just wasn't sure how well any of those would go over within city limits, though since there's a lot of nobility artsy-fartsy type atmosphere she might be able to get away with claiming that her companion is a pet trained to perform amusing tricks.

The other, less attention-grabbing idea is a cleric (possibly Evangelist) with the Westcrown Firebrand trait :3

Lady : Personally I think that being the Lunar Oracle with a wolf would work. Obviously wolves have a connection to the moon and the people of the city could even mistake the wolf for an Alsation or some such breed?

Ooooh I just pictured a wolf with a poodle cut >.>

Yeah, I was thinking probably a tiger, wolf, or boar since they'd probably be the easiest to manage in a city setting. I play a druid with a wolf companion in a RL game and the DM has basically ruled that most common folk just mistake her for a dog or a half-breed wolf due to her (apparent) tame nature.

I like the Boar. I see it as your protector. Heh a seeing-eye boar sounds like fun!

Jovinus Corinne wrote:

Hehe, that's true! I tend to be biased towards feline friends in games like Pathfinder because I'm a cat person IRL, but I'm trying to broaden my horizons and try different critters (hence the wolf AC I mentioned).

*edit* It doesn't help that most people consider the big cats to be the best ACs for combat purposes, so that always makes me worried that people will think I'm trying to powergame if I take one.

Dark Archive

I wish I could choose a familiar. I definitely would choose a boar. Imagine walking around in the city with a boar. I like the crocodile idea too!

Best thing about the Boar, if it dies and you are running low on food ... you have yourself a nice meal :P

I have never been a fan of the big cats, I usually go with the Wolf or Snake as it gives more variety to the game. Having a large constrictor following you through a town is highly amusing!

I am most certainly a cat person as well, and to be honest big cats are indeed fearsome beasts. Would be a tough choice.

I would totally take a snake if that were an option for a Lunar Oracle! And I forgot, I actually don't mind the idea of avian companions though I've not had a chance to try one yet (and they're also not an option for this particular character).

A snake sounds interesting, but since it's not a Shadow Child option.... :(
With the exception of the shark, any of those animal companions could work, it just depends on how you write it up. Good luck!
