            I'm going to assume we'll run the remainder of this combat with the lvl 7 version of our characters.
Quiz yelps at being bitten and then reflexively creates a dimensional tear which he takes a step through landing next to Rena (1 square to the right), before casting a GLITTER DUST spell over the center of the boat (DC 16 will to negate blindness, 10ft radius spread).

            For some reason my phone keeps crashing when I go to edit my stat line. Profile page is now correct.
Add ten HP to what is in stat line till I get to a computer. I'll be on again in 3 and 1/2 hrs. Baldwin,  go we need to rest before getting access to new spells/abilities?

            OK in that case the blindness was DC 18, due to feat changes.

            No need to rest but you do have your previous HP damage if any and you have used spells or arcane pools that you've already used. You just add the new stuff. so if you've used a 3rd level spell already...it's still gone but you may have earned additional spells/slots just like you were an 8th level character.

            quiz slides next to Rena and casts glitterdust but it doesn't outline anything on the deck, gangplank, and shore in it's radius.
Bug double moves and gets onto the gangplank leading on the ship.
rena doesn't see anything. You still have an action.
Xavier double moves closer but his heavy armor limits his movement and is distracting to run in.

            There is flash that seems to have come from the top of the mast of the ship, when suddenly there's a fiery ball of explosion that engulfs the ship and the surrounding area below catching Bug, Rena, and Quiz int eh blaze.

Xavier as you double move you notice a steep and deep channel exiting this cavern (area 4 on the map). there is set of steep stairs on the far wall (area marked Down) and two orogs are arriving near the top of the steps this round.

            Xavier noticed the orogs coming up the stair and his allies were dealing with a caster...somewhere. He needed to give them time. He casts DEFENDING BONE and uses a MOVE to drop into the channel at P25, pulling his TOWER SHIELD as part of the action to block the stair.
Defending Bone prevents 5hp of damage per level. Total 40 now if they hit his AC. Currently 27/10/27. HP59/74

            Xavier it's a steep drop into water you don't see a way back up, except maybe the steps that are climbing a dry tunnel channel are you sure you want to drop into the channel? to your eye it looks like this is some sort of lock that will raise and lower ships to different water heights. There are massive doors like the first set you came through at the bottom.
In otherwords, stairs equals a good idea, jumping equals terrible idea.

Quiz reflexively casts VANISH and shouts, "Spread out! That greater invisibility can't forever, check the skys he might be flying."

This is a bad place to fight a possibly flying invisible wizard. I could play wack-a-mole with glitter dust but I don't think he will stay still. I was all set to use loathesome veil here but you can't point it up - at least I don't think you can.

            Since this is not a normal campaign, can we assume Quiz has SEE INVISIBILITY in his book? He'll have to burn another arcane point and use quick study to use it? No worries if not, I'll just try my luck with readied actions and glitter dust.

            NP. There's several things we can try, I know he's got an eel there but fireballs don't work underwater. OR I could summon a flying monster and give it SCENT via 1-pt evolution.
