Chimera Cove lies at the southern tip of a rocky and storm-swept cape projecting into the Inner Sea, in a no-man’s-land between the great nations of Cheliax and Andoran. The three islands sitting just off shore do little to block the sea’s relentless swells, but they do effectively anchor the persistent coastal fog, making local navigation perilous. The fishermen who settled this grim seashore decades ago have a knack for maneuvering their catboats to and from their spindly docks, but no merchant ships dare use the treacherous cove, even with a launch. Few outsiders find the settlement’s steady decline in recent years surprising, wondering only at why the place was ever founded.

Do the steps lead up here? My whole intent was to BLOCK them at the top step and make them fight me on the staircase. Got confused by the description of the deep channel and not being able to climb back out. Since no one has gone yet, can we run with that positioning. Them near top of steps with me blocking the top?

Xavier noticed the orogs coming up the stair and his allies were dealing with a caster...somewhere. He needed to give them time. He casts DEFENDING BONE and uses a MOVE to drop into the channel at P25, pulling his TOWER SHIELD as part of the action to block the stair.

Unless Rena says something, Quiz doesn't know exactly where the enemy Wizard is, but he guesses the Wizard is (flying?) somewhere near the crow's nest since that's where the fireball came from and where bug is climbing.

Quiz makes a complex gesture combines with several spider like words ending with the proclamation, "Pteranodon, I choose you!" He then moves to L:28 (or L:27 if that's not a legal position) to watch what happens next.

As a standard action, and at the cost of 4 Arcane Resevoir points, Quiz uses Summon Monster 4 with Augment Summoning, and Evolved Summoned Monster to summon a Celestial Pteranodon with +4str/con and Improved Damage (Bite) evolution

Improved Damage:

One of the eidolon’s natural attacks is particularly deadly. Select one natural attack form and increase the damage die type by one step. This evolution can be selected more than once. Its effects do not stack. Each time an eidolon selects this evolution, it applies to a different natural attack.

Conjurer's Focus (Sp):
An occultist can spend 1 point from her arcane reservoir to cast summon monster I. She can cast this spell as a standard action and the summoned creatures remain for 1 minute per level (instead of 1 round per level). At 3rd level and every 2 levels thereafter, the power of this ability increases by one spell level, allowing her to summon more powerful creatures (to a maximum of summon monster IX at 17th level), at the cost of an additional point from her arcane spell reserve per spell level. An occultist cannot have more than one summon monster spell active in this way at one time. If this ability is used again, any existing summon monster immediately ends.

With an eerie cry, the Pteranodon appears near Bug and thanks to it's SCENT ability, it uses a move action to determine the location of the wizard and a standard action to close in on the wizard.

Pteranodon 30/42 HP

Quiz thinks, 'Xavier is right, we need haste, but I've got to get us all!. He then walks to roughly the middle of everything and then makes a strange sign and suddenly things happen much much faster!

Quiz walks over to J:26 and casts HASTE, which should affect the entire party plus the dinosaur.

The cavern reverberates with the detonation of the fireball and the cry of rage from the Pteranodon, which is signed but still flying.
Reflex save: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21

Again the Pteranodon uses a move action to track the caster with SCENT and a standard action to move next to him.

The casters greater invisibility should be ending in the next few rounds.

Xavier manages to get his shield up in time to ward the majority of the flames, he hears the scream and sees Quiz turn visible and he feels his sword slip from his grasp.

Thank Ragathiel he needed a weapon cord in order to cast with his hands full.
He uses a swift action to recover his blade and Moves to J26 to stand over Quiz fallen body.
My water breathing spell os still working. ..

A healing spell would not be enough for the gnome to live if he got hit again. He needed his ally up.
He lets go of his blade again and touched Quiznog, using his patrons power to revive his friend.

He based his attack on your last position near Xavier, he put his FB where it would catch Xavier too, but not his allies. Just figures you were there and he didn't want to include his newly arrived sergeant.

Flying above the battle field, Quiz's Pteranodon frustrated by the invisible wizard, lets out an unearthly cry and yet again tracks the flying wizard, sniffing him out and following, pointing the way.

The magic of Xavier's god flows through the little gnome, healing the terrible burns. Quiz finds himself on the floor, with a sick feeling in his stomach. He croaks, "Thanks", and shakes his head to clear it. Looking up he sees the Pteranodon chasing the invisible wizard. The creature darts forward and hovers in mid air.

Quiz casts a GLITTERDUST spell on the squares immediately in front of the Pteranodon, aiming it so that its quarry is in the aoe but the Pteranodon is just outside. DC18 will save vs blindness.

That done, he rolls over and sort of flops into the water, sinking under the boat.

Xavier feels the Grease coat his shield hand this time and doesn't bother to resist. He drops the shield and tries to keep a firm grip on his bastard sword which also still had grease on it.

He calls upon his own powers and casts GREATER STUNNING BARRIER on himself, using Fervor to make it a swift action.
