The door is ajar and creaks loudly when teased open further. You see a galley. There are several breaks in the wall and deck boards above. Time, salt, and spray have not been kind to this abandoned kitchen and now it is in disarray.
is anyone going inside the galley. If so, make two perception checks.

Dinetta looks back to the others:
Name of the ship appears to be The Flying Fortune. There is also some odd belaying pins on the portside wall.

Marcus takes a look at the belayin pins and mentally compares the quality to the ones on our ship. I had not thought that custom b'layin pins were such a hot item
Would there be a check for any knowledge of The Flying Fortune

Knowledge(local): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
Dinetta is pretty sure she has seen than name in a book or pamphlet somewhere (or perhaps it was in something she borrowed from someone at some point.

baldwin the merciful |

The name The Flying Fortune is a name you've heard about, but you're not sure of the details.
You've read and recall that a ship by that name once simply disappeared a couple years ago...vanished, never to be heard of again. You don't recall any other information about the ship or event.
You notice there are two floor opening leading to the deck below. The Captain has moved towards one and he has his rapier out. He is peering below.

Seeing the captain draw his weapon, Marcus will move over beside him taking a defensive posture.

Dinetta stands looking at the name:
Pretty sure The Flying Fortune was a ship that simply disappeared a few years ago. No report or survivors, it just never arrived at its next port.

Dinetta looks to her larger companions and then toward the stairs down.
I should go first. If the steps are weak, my weight is less likely to break them.
With that, she will carefully make her way to the steps which she will check before heading down.
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16 <-- +1 more for traps

Be careful Dinetta, those stairs have seen their better days
He will look for potential pitfalls on the stairs as well Perception: Aid for Dinetta: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (10) + 12 = 22

As Dinetta carefully, or so she believes, descends the the old stairs Markus is trying to help her out. She steps, the dreaded sound of snap occurs, and she suddenly falls through. I should ahve let the soft footed monk go first, she thinks
Markus close behind as he assists think She should ahve let me go first.
Both Denetta and Markus need to make DC 20 reflex to avoid falling on the jagged rock covered with sea urchins below.

damage Markus if reflex fails: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 6) = 16
If you fail the reflex save and land on the sea urchins then I need a Fort DC 11 or you are poisoned.
Sea Urchin Spine Poison
Type poison (injury); Save Fortitude DC 11
Frequency 1/round for 4 rounds
Effect 1 Dex damage; Cure 1 save
You each land in a shallow tide pool from the jagged seamount that has pierced the hull of the ship. You are actually inside the staircase with sea urchins around.
To those above looking down suddenly the stairs give way and Dinetta and Markus disappear inside the stairs.

Reflex DC20: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25...That was a close one...Perhaps I should probe ahead with my pole.
Do I take half damage from the fall?
"Hullo...you alright down there?" There is long pregnant pause. "Need a rope?"
A rope would be much appreciated, I like my sea urchins on a plate not surrounded by the buggers

Revhi |

Oh man, I made a rookie mistake. No rope :(
Revhi jumps as the stairs give way, mostly happy that it wasn't her. She swears under her breath and looks around. "Did anybody bring rope?"

Reflex: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
With great ease, Dinetta does what appears to be a leap to the side, perhaps she learned this avoiding thrown books in the library, and avoids the rocks and urchins at the bottom.
Looking up, she calls.
Watch out for that second step. It is a little unstable.

Revhi |

Revhi barks a laugh at the quip. "Come on dears, you really need to start pulling your own weight around here. You need to step up." She says, chuckling and tossing a rope down. (Assuming somebody else lends me some)

![]() |

Need a lift up? Marcus asks Dinetta. Marcus will assist the librarian up and then climb up himself

![]() |

After standing up and brushing herself off, Dinetta begins to search around the area into which they fell trying to see if there is anything of note there now that they are under the ship (or in the ship's hold?).
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (18) + 11 = 29

baldwin the merciful |

Dinetta you see that you are inside a hollow staircase that has been torn open by the seamount, there are sea urchins floating in the shallow pool. Pressing on the boards do not reveal any secret smugglers hold or compartment. they way out appears to be either: up the rope through the hold or smashing through the side of the staircase.

![]() |

Dinetta will climb back up and will tie herself off to the rope to avoid falling through and more weak stairs as she continues her search.

![]() |

Marcus will move to the front and begin probing for weak spots with his folding pole.

Davkas Gellantara |

Davkas remains in the rear and is a little relived no one was (apparently hurt) mostly because he had no prepared a utility spell that could get them up.
For now, mundane means would have to do.

baldwin the merciful |

After a few heart pounding moments Dinetta and markus emerge from the rotten stair case. The group gathers themselves, before testing out the second staircase which is secure. You find a large compartment that is empty except for a few old hammocks, there is evidence of battle but there are not shards of bone or corpses. The part of the ship is protected from the direct pounding of the sea and wind, so over all it is in good shape. Due to being sheltered you'd expect there to be some remains.
Which way, you have gone down one level to the midship, and there is a single door leading out of the room.

Revhi |

"I can practically smell the undead crawling around. It's like a rotting fruit. But saltier." She chuckles and takes a look around.
Perc: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

I would vote the door to the right
Marcus will give the room a perusal Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (5) + 12 = 17
Strange...one would expect to find bones and whatnot with all the combat that happened on this ship
Are there weapons or fragments of weapons. maybe arrows lying about

baldwin the merciful |

Markus gathers everyone near him then he opens the door exiting the crews bunk area. The door is swollen and creaks loudly as he muscles it open. The door opens outward and reveals a large hold. From the size of the ship you realize that this is the second or excess hold, there are two floor hatches ("F") and a large cargo opening leading that lead to the deck below. Additionally, you see that this area has been severely damaged by seawater, most of the decking is warped and far area has collapsed into the deck below. You notice a few broken barrels and crates and what ever was in those containers has long ago rotten away.

![]() |

Marcus again scans the room Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (5) + 12 = 17
It is a shame that those birds we encountered earlier could not talk, this is strange
Marcus says as he heads toward the double doors midship.
Is the floor down here as dicey as we have seen before, if so Marcus will probe ahead carefully with the pole
