Euphemia di Nereis |

Euphemia lets out a sigh of disappointment and reaches down to pick up Patches, assuming the child lets her.
"No one has ever accused me for failing to be impulsive. We are going to find these children a place to stay, even if "we" ends up defining me. I know going to your friend is exceptionally important, but so is this."

While you are in the street you see a group of thugs...seven in total approach loudly from an alley. Just as they get to cobble main street they begin to fan out mixing in with a few kids. Their rough hands slap a face and pull some hair.
Three is noise form down the road its a squad of dottari but then they turn their back and walk another direction. "We be chargin' a street tax,,,one gold piece per head, and you young'uns we gots some work fer you. One-eyed Luke claimed each of you, now you get on over to broad alley and get t'work"
You can make a recuperation check to see if you recognize the dottari leader.

Why hello over there! How nice to see you! Andrea looks at the toughs. Oh really? A gold tax? Andrea looks over at Gerard. Doesn't this bring back memories? Long ago squashing rats in a cellar? I think I am feeling nostalgic.

Euphemia di Nereis |

What's a recuperation check?
"I suppose I could be missing something, but this situation is deplorable! Unhand the miniature humanoids this very instant, or I will conjure tentacles from the void to scuff your trousers!"

She twitches, livid.

Daniel Arrisen |

Daniel moves into the house courtyard and sits down to pray.
He prayed and spoke aloud. Not for forgiveness for Azreal had willingly made a choice to aid the paladin in the struggle in Walcourt. The Archon had existed for so long to oppose evil it would have been against his nature to say no.
Daniel was not praying for forgiveness, he was asking for strength. He was morning.
The Hound had been a good friend and the forst example of how he differed from other Paladins.
He could not summon a magical horse like his brother or call a celestial spirit to his weapon like his father.
He was much older before he'd realised the depth of his gift.
Why Imoedae had tested and demanded more wisdom before giving it.
The half orc could call an Angel from the heavens.
As long as he had faith always would they answer his call, terrible and beautiful and righteous.
He felt the power grow when he pierced the vampires heart.
More trials were coming. He remembered Walcourt. The Wizard. Flight was a enemy's strength against him. He needed to counter that.
He took out his bow.
It was not a weapon he favored, but he would. And he would soon have a companion who could deliver him to the skies...
He gathered his things and left for Orsin's apartment. Noticing the groups along the way....

Gerard you know there are quite a few "One-Eyed" (insert name) running around the back alleys, this particular man named Luke does not ring a bell to you. You figure it's just another street thug claiming a couple blocks of turf.
"Damn r'ght ye be payin' da tax lil man." There are chuckles from the hoods flanking him.

Gerard Nisroc |

Gerard is... impressed.
Alright, alright... I'll pay you now. But, no blood shed, please. So much already.
Andrea, Phem... Please let me handle this, it's a street matter. I'm certain these gentlemen will succumb to my sort or reasoning. And the children need to understand violence is not the answer.

baldwin the merciful |

Euphemia di Nereis |

Euphemia gulps, terrified of the man who is far more violent than herself.
"They fail to see the wisdom in your words, Gerard."
Her nostrils flare. "It bears mentioning that they have you surrounded, too."
Euphemia will hold her action until the violence starts. She readies and action to cast Baleful Polymorph on one of the thugs should they act on their impulses, defensively if necessary.

Andrea1 |

Andrea rolls her eyes and sighs, looking over in the direction of the retreating Dottari. You there! Do your duty! Have pride in your city and uniform! Did the Did the dottari cringe when goblins invested the ruins? No! they stepped up like Maurice did and helped cleanse them, do the same with these thugs.

Euphemia di Nereis |

Once Andrea starts to put her plan in motion. "They didn't seem keen on your parley if they just wanted us to leave, Gerard. Therefore...,"
Euphemia points to the man who threatened the children most recently whilst pinching Frank's spines.
Baleful Polymorph on the Mofo: Fort DC 20, then Will DC 20, or become a hedgehog.

baldwin the merciful wrote:The barbed tail tightens drawing a few droplets of blood, "Ohh, do tell...what do you have to offer that could entice Lord Geryon?"The bard winces as the devil draws blood.
"Th-the souls of Eccardian and Ch-chammady Drovenge...the blood of Hell runs through their veins. Their souls in exchange for mine."
"But their souls are linked to another." His fingers continue to drum on your shoulder, "How would you bring us souls ...nearly destined for mammon?" He pinches slightly, "What if you fail....what do you offer."

Andrea1 |

Oh that was so funny.
Well I know that Walcourt has been purged of The Council, just like The Bastards were purged from the north end by US! So, I suggest you get Scratch, who is waddling around looking adorable and run away and never bother these children again!

Euphemia di Nereis |

Euphemia retorts, pointing out the obvious. "Well, I care about you and cringe at the thought of beating children, so at least these two things..."
Seeing that he's leaving, Euphemia double takes and stares at Andrea as if to say 'Did he seriously just do that?!', turning bright red.
"Those kids know that we promised safety, Gerard! Even if you are disgusted with me, stick through this for them and then crush me by walking away dramatically and cutting off our budding bonds."
She stares at the thugs like a predator, though the one fellow still unnerves her.
"It is not as though I am going to be setting the alley to flood with their blood, here. I wish to be the queen of the nonlethal takedown."
She pauses. "Andrea, is he being dominated again?"

Frank the Hedgehog |

Frank freezes up and waits for Gerard's a)blatant rejection as he continues off into the poignant obscurity of not here or b) for him to start using well-backed but morally obtuse (for his mistress, at least) arguments to try and shame the witch in question. Friendship is fun. Romance is GREAT. But this? Not so much.

baldwin the merciful |

"M-m-m-magic. A-a spell, a magic jar! I'll think of something, I won't fail in this. I can't fail in this."
"Temptation...is so sweet. A wrinkle in Ole Mammon's formless side." He wickedly chuckles, sending jolts of electrical current through your body. Your muscles pulsate to the stimulation. "That greedy hoarder, would loose his precious jewel...yes, bring me the girl, Chammady Drovenge's, soul and you shall be released from your current contract."

baldwin the merciful |

"I'll...I'll do it."
Defiance glimmers in the bard's eyes, even as he submits.
The blood mark on your flesh flares as the contract's addendum is sealed. With that he will pick up the paintings and place them in bag. "You've come far over the last year....a noticeable feat. Beware of Signifer Verennie and her heretics."

baldwin the merciful |

"Signifier Verennie? I haven't seen much of the Hellknights of late. What are you not telling me?"
"All in due time, she would be a nice down payment to see if you are capable of using a magic jar." A wicked smile creases his face. "My words have proven correct in the past,,,,and they will continue so, now and in the future. Beware that Hellknight...but get yourself access to the magic jar or better," With that all the pain and discomfort is gone and he disappears.

baldwin the merciful |

"Yell'r you forgot the tax." The man tosses daggers at Gerard's back.

the other rogues stand there grasping their weapons, a bit uncertain of themselves, curiously trying to figure out what happened to Scratch.
The rogues are followers and cowards who would drop weapons rather than fighting if their two leaders were handled. One leader is a hedgehog the other threw the dagger.

"You should know he would have paid you. This is my doing, so at least stab the right person!" Euphemia insists.
Assuming Andrea doesn't get to him first, let's do another Baleful Polymorph, hm? Save DC 20 Fort, then DC 20 Will, or we will have yet another hedgehog.

Andrea1 |

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Andrea was never good at reading people but a dagger in the back pretty much spoke for itself.
Turning her gaze to one of the petty thugs, Andrea speaks and it seems that the leader has now become the thug's worst enemy. (Targeting D-11)
Murderous Command DCC 17 Will save or make a single melee attack
