1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Kenji Masada |
Distracted by Andrea I take my attention off the battle and grasp Andrea's shoulder. "Get of you seff! It onry stink. Com on. You stronger dan dis." Kenji will take no combat action this round. Next round is also questionable.
I assume crazy disease lady can only be heard by Andrea.
baldwin the merciful |
The voice is in Andrea's head nobody else can hear it. She simply appers to be violently ill to everyone else and she happens to mumbling prayers. Nor has the Urgathoa mentioned to her priestess to get in the trench.

Shinon |
I'm still an action behind? Weird. Okay. Here's my Round 4, Round 5, and Round 6 actions, just so I don't fall behind:
Shinon scoots back, trying to put as much distance between himself and the grub as possible, before letting loose a volley of arrows.

I copied part of an early recap post, you and kenji were not one round behind. My bad there.
Urgathoa |
"Hmmmpht...shame...I was looking forward to your companion's death in my cess. My fun is done...for now.
"Calistria has offered to take you off my hands. You have till tomorrow's prayers to choose your poison.
Andrea's knotted stomach has ceased its discomfort, color is returnig to her face, and she is able to stand and move again.
baldwin the merciful |
The bloated man's body is face down and he is bobbing in the sewage. From the angle Duncan and John have they can see he has a horseshoe bald head. What hair is there is matted down and covered in waste matter. His shirt is torn and on the side and back from where the giant grub emerged from the body. The body has created a dam in the trench causing the water to seep over the edge. The air is thick with large black flies buzzing around the death.
What is the next course of action by the party?
Duncan Redhammer |
Duncan spits some of the crap out of his mouth and climbs up to the ledge again.
Durn it. Gonna need another bath.
He eyes Andrea but says nothing.
Anybody know that chap?
Andrea1 |
Andrea shakes her head. I am not okay, but can still go on with the group. Duncan, you are badly wounded and should drink some of your potions.
Andrea stands there waiting for the others to continue forwards and will silently follow.
Shinon |
Shinon puts his bow away and turns to Andrea. "Don't distance yourself," he says quietly. He looks directly at her, though he can't see her eyes through the hood. "Everyone in this group relies on everyone else. If you have a problem, tell us. We'll help you get over it. If we can't help you, then go home and get some rest. Everyone will just keep worrying about you otherwise, and it will throw us off our game. Plus, if you are not capable of defending yourself as well as normal, you can bet our enemies will target you, and none of us want to walk away from this with a fallen comrade."
After saying that, Shinon will turn away and look down at the body. "A bald head...that sounds familiar." Gently, Shinon will lift the corpse up and flip it over, yanking his hand back reflexively if anything else tries to come out and bite him.
If Shinon manages to get the corpse on its back, he will examine it and see if he can identify the man.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Knowledge (Local): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
If the corpse is human, Shinon will receive a +2 bonus from his Favored Enemy skill on both of the above checks. Additionally, if the corpse is human, Shinon will attempt a Knowledge (Nobility) check related to him as well, since rangers can make Knowledge checks about their FE untrained.
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8, including the FE bonus.

Nothing jumps out at Shinon when he reaches and turns the horseshoe bald headed man over. He does not fit the description of Jospuph Grulios.
A reminder that Jospuph Grulios was 6'0, 200lbs, scar left side of neck, unkept curly brown, with an aroma of garlic.
His stomach completely eaten away, his chest is hollow; his ribs are unbroken. his face is round and he is missing his teeth. The man has no eyes, or tongue. His body is short and rotund in stature and he has a thick neck, his fingers are calloused. What remains of his ripped garments look practical but of good quality. There are no visible signs of puncture, slashing or blunt trauma to the remaining portions of his body.
He has one of the faces you may have seen 1000 times but nothing distinguishable to you Shinon.
Duncan Redhammer |
Duncan takes.out one of his potions of Cure light wounds and downs it.
1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
and another
1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Right, now let's find these guys
Andrea1 |
Andrea sighed. I was indeed in pain, struck down by something in this sewer and was delirous. Since it happened when that worm appeared, I believe it was some kind of curse that it struck me with. Andrea patted Kenji's arm. Thank you very much for your concern, but with the death of the worm I do indeed feel much better.

Huh, I thought that was an advisor. Well looks like speed reading got me again :p
Still wasn't looking at the corpse though. Figure the others can sort out who it is.baldwin the merciful |

Yes that was the man at the Tavern that Janiven and you encountered. He was polite but forgettful of your name. Janiven and you initially thought he was an advisor until he stated his name at the end of the meal which identified him as more than a simple advisor.

Ermolos at the back of the line waves his hand by his face, Duncan and John's odor from the trench is terrible. Then there is the stench from Andrea's breakfast on her chin and robes. Wiping away the tears and choking out, "What to next? Are we just going to leave that poor soul in the sewer and push on? What if he is important, a um...noble or something?" sounding a bit disheartened.
Shinon |
Shinon frowns. "I understand your concern Ermolos, but we can't exactly move the corpse either. There is no telling what kinds of pathogens might be contaminating it, and of course there might be another grub inside it as well. I'm still worried about the repercussions I might face just for turning him on his back. Whether he is a noble or not is irrelevant, every man deserves a proper burial, but in this situation, I think the best thing to do would be to inform the dottari and have them come and remove the corpse. Would that be acceptable?"
Andrea1 |
Andrea rips a strip of cloth off of her robe,(which she is going to need to throw out anyway due to the mess that is on it.) and wipes her face as best she can. We could leave the corpse here to deal with when we return, we wouldn't be able to do anything right now anyway unless we haul it out of the trench and sewer. Leaving it here is practical.
