I nod to Mathalen. "Arigato. See you rater." I take a few moments to steady my mind and body. Once I am acclimated to the smell I hop in. I look around for the others as I move down the sewer.

Take 10 on perception to have an 18 overall.

Also, make a passive perception check that I have on hand. There is potentially too much happening with distractions for taking 10 over a one minute time. Kenji what is your light source.

Since John and Shinon have not checked in I am assuming the following marching order with was similar to the last time you all were in the sewer along with Andrea's suggestion. Duncan, John, Andrea (with light source), Shinon, Ermolos (rear). When Kenji arrives he can behind Ermolos unless told otherwise. If I recall this is what he did the last time.

I'm going to roll Shinon and John's fortitude so event moves a long.

John Fortitude:
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

Shinon Fortitude:
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17

Shinon standing between the two heaving companions, Ermolos and Andrea, was lucky enough to keep his last meal down. Unfortunately, the sturdy warrior in front of Shinon reaction is different. John projectiles outward towards the trench, the recent acidic coated meal slashes on the opposite tunnel wall, running down the stone masonry.

The body is bloated and flies surround the carcass. The stench is wicked. It appears to be a man, he is floating backside up, and he appears to be without clothing but for a loin cloth. His back is arched and his knees seem to be under the foul looking water. His head is under water, except for thin matted hair.

To get closer requires you to stoop down to see it, or to pull on it with your hand or some sort of rigged device to grasp it. What are you doing.

Kenji you hear noises about 60 feet ahead, I assume you have your common lattern lit, and it sounds like whimpering and splashing.

I try and examine Andrea for any signs of what may have happened to her.

I sit back with a look of disbelief on my face. I then look around at the sorry sight of my companions. "Dibine does dis? What we up against? Dis is bad. Come on eberyone. Get hod of yourserbs. We need focus. If dibines not on our sode den we shud mobe on witout dem. Or gib up. What sha we do den? Hm?" I look to those who are standing.
"What now. Gods against us. What you suggest now?"

Kenji you notice Duncan at the front of the line roughly 15 feet ahead of queasy tank, John. John has his hands on his knees, trying to catch his breath.

Duncan appears to be looking at a dark lump in the trench of sewage. There is a 20 foot gap between Duncan and the John. If you are wanting to move up two acrobatic checks need to be made, crossing Andrea is tougher than John, given her uncontrollable spasmatic movements.

Sort of waiting for Duncan, John and Shinon. I don't want to take their actions at this point as they tend to get on in the evening.

Duncan reaches out to hook the body with the curl of his axe head and steadying himself pulls the body towards himself.

Duncan as you pull the body closer the sludge rolls over the stone walk way. Sloshing over the lip of the trench and spilling over onto the stone. The body itself moves over the edge. The curl of the axe lifts the body up slightly.

Suddenly there is twitching light yellow maggot nearly 3 feet long, with several mouths springs out from the corse's side, snapping its hungary mouth at Duncan.

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 141d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Barely missing the unprepared dwarf.

Rd 1:

Duncan can you make an acrobatics DC10 Check, failure results in the surface is too slippery and you falling into the sewage trench. Anyone moving into Duncan's current square or any square beyond Duncan needs to make an Acrobatics check DC 10 for each square moving through. It's really slippery.

John had been prepared for the stench of the sewers, untill Andrea behing him was not. Being covered with her breakfast mad John also lose his breakfast.
Just so you know John brought his tower shield with him since he could care less if Henk and his gang know who he is since he doesn't except them to leave the sewers if they find them.

I am rubbing Andrea's back trying to sooth her. "Take it easy. It wiru pass. Breathe. Shhh." I continue trying comfort Andrea when suddenly I here splashing and strange creature noises up ahead.
"Duncan, what happening up dere, need herup?" I stay by Andrea trying to comfort her and now ready to protect her if need be.

The big man face is flush, sweat pouring from his brow unable to help his dwarven companion. why'd I eat the porridge, and the grits?

As Duncan's stout legs fail him. 50 and lower in the trench. 51 and higher fall on the stone ledge. fall: 1d100 ⇒ 27 As he falls to his side into the 3ft deep trench Fortitude save DC12 The sewage is nearly to his shoulders, his long beard thick with waste matter. Drenched with muck his chainmail feels like a weight.

The tidal wave of excrement splashes a walls and surrounding area, nearly splashing John. Two of the hexes leading up to where Duncan was are now wet and more difficult to cross requiring acrobatic checks for each hex.

John's face quickly looks like the color chart turning various shades, white to yellow to red and now purple, as another wave of breakfast splatters. Four helpings of bacon, pancakes, ham, scrambled eggs and berries. Why did I eat so much. It didn't seem like that much at the time.

The slimy giant grub is eager for a new meal as it slithers out of the side of the corpse towards the dwarf. Its mouth trying to take a big chomp on the dwarf.

Grub Bite: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 211d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 That hurt.

Latching on with his toothy mouth, blood trickles from the fresh meat. Duncan feels a warmth under his skin. Fortitude save DC16, as poison to seep into the unsteady man's body.


Diety, NPC

Goody, your plump dwarven friend may be visiting that cobwebbed b%tch you have come to admire sooooooooooo much. Dwarf flesh is tasty with a hardy Razmiran red. As your stomach dry heaves one more time.

Feast of the flesh is an acquired taste don't you think. Dwarf is not nearly as yummy as halfling is it? Looks like I will get to sample.

The filth...the crud...the disease that is filling this glorious tunnel warms the soul. don't you think so my devout priestess...watch as your companions ....

Kenji if you decide to move up to Duncan you need to make 4 Acrobatic rolls DC10 as the terrain is very slippery and you need to slip by John. John will need to make one Acrobatic roll for each person trying to squeeze by him.

Shinon draws his bow and arrow and aims at the giant grub.

Shinon's Arrow: 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (7) + 5 - 4 = 81d8 ⇒ 2

The arrow whizzles harmlessly by Duncan's ear.

Shooting in melee -4, grub has partial cover +2 to Grubs AC, +1 shooting bonus from higher ground. Rolls should have been a 7 rather than an 8.

Recap Rd 1:

Duncan slipped into sh$t and was biten by the Grub. Taking 9 points of damage. He has two Fortitude saves to roll: filth fever DC12, poison DC16.

Shinon shot at the grub and missed.

Grub bit Duncan for 9 points of damage and potential poison.

Kenji moved up to Andrea. Held rest of action. I will permit Kenji the rest of his action if he wants it - possible double move?

RD2 Begins:

John and Ermolos can make a Fortitude save DC12 to overcome the uneasy stomach. If they succeed they can join battle in the third round. Andrea is still out of commission.

Initiative if John and Ermolos can join in the third round. Basically, they are getting their stomach and feeling back.

John Init.: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Ermolos Init.: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (17) + 0 = 17

Shinon has the Precise Shot feat. Combat Style bonus feat from Ranger 2.

Shinon will shoot at the grub again.

+1 for higher ground included in the above roll, as well as the +1 from my Point Blank Shot feat.

Damage:
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

With all the bodies in front of me and the narrow fighting ground, I simply draw a shuriken from my belt and huck it at the grub.1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
But miss wildly as I toss it from a bad position. I stay knelt by Andrea waiting to see if John of Ermolos can overcome whats come over them.

Shinon's arrow pierces the Grub. Even with PS, and +1 PB, it would not ahve been enough for the AC in Rd1.

Kenji's shuriken misses wildly and bangs off the side of the tunnel.

We need to wait for Duncan's saves and his action before the Grub action. Then we will begin round 3, Ermolos will join in the combat in Rd 3 and I'm waiting for John's Fort save to determine if he joins in this round.

As Duncan raises up through the feces and takes a mighty swing with his pick, he misses widely splashing the far wall. The big mouth craves more dwarven flesh...

Ermolos and John each recovered this round. Andrea is still in agony.

Remember to move closer to Duncan an Acrobatic roll needs to be made for each hex. It is slick and wet. There is no need to roll an Acro check against John's hex since his has recovered.

The grub is currently 20 feet from John and in the trench. Duncan is 15 feet from John and in the trench. 15, 20, 25 foot movements from John's current position will put the grub in melee. 15 feet will put the grub at an diagonal, 20 ft will put is adjacent, 25 ft will put it at a diagonal. The creature cannot make an attack of opportunity against the ledge due to its position and size.

Hehehehe..same 50 and lower in the drink, 51 and higer you fall on the ledge. 1d100 ⇒ 18

There is a big displacement of stenchy trench water as a large wave nearly sweeps the dwarf off his feet. There is filthy raw sewage dripping from the walls and ceiling. The large armored man's head plunges under the water.

Fortitude save DC 12 for filth fever. Oh, I forgot to hit you with your illness the last time you went swimming. It wasn't too take effect for a couple days. That's ok though.

Watching the hardy fornt line warriors slip and fall into the sewage, Ermolos decides to use his crossbow. I cranks the light bow and lets of a shot into melee and cover.

does crossbow break DC10 Dex: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (14) + 0 = 14 Although the bow misfires, it does not break.
