This is Council of Thieves AP. Westcrown, City of Twilight, once was the center of Aroden's faith, but now it symbolizes despair. By day, the city remains a vibrant center of trade; but, by night only those with a death wish venture out.
Khazraae is purring withing the attention that she is receiving, the elf's touch is soft and Faelyn bringing her gifts has further soothed her emotions.
Lucrezia looks over to Andrea. "Well, while in the market we kinda made a deal to get some information from someone who likes to bet on bloodsports. A man named Rance Lucca is willing to trade some information to us in return for Faelyn taking part in some kind of summoner battle. The fight is between summoned creatures only, no harm is permitted to be done to whoever is doing the summoning, so it seems rather low risk with a chance to get valuable information and a chance to make some money. I know that I certainly plan to bet on Faelyn to win. We decided to meet up with the rest of you before making any requests for information first. We want to make sure that we are asking the right questions without giving away too much information of our own."

Well that sounds interesting . I am also capable of using summoning magic, although Faelyn sounds like the expert with such matters. As for imformation, we need those ashes since Luccas was mentained in the Delvehaven Papers.
"Faelyn had already agreed to do it and it seemed to rude to just volunteer you without asking. So the rest of us get to be his entourage for the fight."
Areal perks up with Lucrezia's comments, "Interesting, Rance Lucca comes from an old noble family that picked the wrong side of battle with House Thrune. The house is long devoid from any power or nobility, but there is no love loss for those loyal to Thrune."

Well it looks like we have some time before this magic fight at the Devildrome. In the meantime we can so things like question the prisoners the Dottari have and investigate a few more leads that I marked down. I can pray for a Zone of Truth spell in the mornign as well as a Gentle Repose to help Shadow.
Areal, Janiven and Ailyn all turn and look at this "Shadow" person, each look at one another and then over to Andrea and Duncan. "Hello."
He puts a smile on his face, "Welcome to the Brotherhood." he then rattles off a few introductions. Hope this is a someone Andrea and Duncan can trust.
Janiven leans towards Duncan, "Do you trust her?" She is a bit apprehensive. She is the first person to enter the safehouse without being vetted by either Areal or myself.

Duncan simply nods. He would explain later, away from keen elven ears.
Janiven gives a slight nod of understanding to Duncan, "So y'gonna drink all four of those?" She smirks. As she reaches towards one of ales, "We've plenty of ale here, not going to run out." Just then another member drops off four more tankards. Janiven nods appreciatively.

Keep in mind most of my prayers I asked for this morning deal with investigation, as I cast some while questioning and listening with Gerald. Hmm... Unless John is here I think we should put this off.

Orsin smirks as he listens to Duncan, Andrea, and Janiven. He's in a surprisingly good mood and can be easily convinced to do just about anything the group thinks is a wise decision.
Got a short shift coming up, I'll be back in 4-5 hours.
Shadow nods and returns any greetings politely back to those who give them, though she remains quiet and withdrawn. The Erinyes' head seems to have her slightly distracted.

Bah, I ain't used a single spell since coming outta that basement. Let's buff up an I'll drag it into the light. Ye can stay on the steps in the light. I bet shadow there ain't scared o the dark. Whaddaya say elf? Want to tag team a shadowbeast? Be good fer the public's morale if we hang a dead one's skull up. Let em know some are fighting fer em.
Shadow's eyes slowly focus on Duncan. After a moment she asks quietly,
"What of any repercussions? Who controls the shadow beasts? Will they become annoyed at such a display? I did not note any shadow beast skulls decorating any one else' halls..." Then she smiles,
"Of course. Killing one now means we won't have to kill one later when it's less convenient." (^_^)

Did you guys bring me anything to use divination on to find out the details behind Sunny's disappearance?
Blood Biography Spell:
BLOOD BIOGRAPHY
School divination; Level bard 2, cleric 3, inquisitor 3, sorcerer/wizard 3
Casting Time 1 minute
Components V, S, M/DF (a scrap of parchment)
Range touch
Target one creature's blood or one bloodstain
Duration instantaneous
Saving Throw Will negates (see text); Spell Resistance no
You learn the answers to a specific set of questions about a creature so long as you have access to at least one drop of its blood. You can cast this spell on the blood of the living or the dead, but living or undead creatures are entitled to a saving throw to resist the spell. You can cast the spell on dried or fresh blood. Once you cast the spell the answers to the following four questions appear on any flat surface you designate (a wall, a piece of paper, and so on).
Who are you? (The name by which the creature is most commonly known)
What are you? (Gender, race, profession/role)
How was your blood shed? (Brief outline of the events that caused its wound, to the best of the victim's knowledge)
When was your blood shed?
These answers always appear in a language you can read even if the creature cannot speak that or any language.
Faelyn remembers that he has a poker game tonight at the Grotto, but he needs to get back to his place to clean up a bit, and pick up some coin. The others are sort of anxious to challenge the night, so they agree to escort him to his flat and then to the Grotto. Duncan, Andrea and Lucrezia each silently seething about putting Alphonse out of his misery.
The group sets off in the dark, careful to avoid the few lit streets preferring to weave in the alleys.

Ready to go.
To Faelyn. Unfortunatly, I did not have a spell that could tell us more about Sunny's death. Since it appeared she died before the vandalism of her corpse, she would not be able to tell us more.
Andrea fills Shadow in some about the Shadowbeats. There seems to be more than one kind. We fought one that looked like an insect with claws that dripped a numbing poison. There was also a mass of rats that attacked with it and an undead shadow that could rain away one's lifeforce. Andrea casts Light as the group travels. They can hide in darkness very well. I have a scroll that can delay the onset of their poison if anyone wants it cast on them. I also have my wand that can protect agaunst evil.
Perception:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
Remember what Kenji said long ago; their slime seemed to dissolve in the light, so we will probably need to wrap the corpse up.
The roofs vary from one to three stories here (20 to 65 feet), the roof line on the building that you are referring to Shadow is an "A-frame pitch, wooden shingled. The building on the left, looks two stories in height, 20 feet or so, also an A-frame pitch(AT11 through AB11)

Well if you come to the Morgue tomarrow, you will be able to cast your spell on her body. I plan on preserving it with a Gentle Repose spell. Everyone best get ready.
Each of you hear the screeching of stray animals, mostly cats, and you can see a dimly lit area by edge of the building AN 19. There is some steam coming from a grated sewer.(AK17) There is cart directly infront of Shadow and Duncan and another cart to Duncan's left.

Andrea creeps along, ready to cast Prayer if any creature appears to attack them.
Readied action for Prayer
Prayer spell:
You bring special favor upon yourself and your allies while bringing disfavor to your enemies. You and each of your allies gain a +1 luck bonus on attack rolls, weapon damage rolls, saves, and skill checks, while each of your foes takes a -1 penalty on such rolls.
6 round duration.
So this is my action when and if things hit the fan.

Considering what they might be getting into, Andrea pulls out her two scrolls of Delay Poison and will cast them on Shadow and Orsin (Since Duncan is a super dwarf and Lucrezia will be using her bow)
For 3 hours, all poison inflicted will be suppressed.
The claws of the Shadowbeasts are poisonous. Since you two will most likely be in combat with them, you should be shielded from it.
