Amal |

Amal seems Giddy as he uses his Thieves tools and begins the ardous task of disarming the trap.. with much glee. " Well then, HERE WE GO! "
I hope its one that sprays scarabs everywhere, or perhaps one with a poisonous gas? Maybe I can harvest the mechanisms for my pleasure later?
Disable Device: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 9 + 2 = 29
Amal will carry the lighter stuff, unfortunately this character forgoes Str so he cant left much at all.

Anset Ossari II |

Anset looks over the salvageable treasure. ”I have no use for the bow and arrows, nor the Pharasma item. The urn is nice. I’d like the scarab however. May I take it for now?”
The cleric stands clear of the others as they investigate the arcane trap. ”Such knowledge is beyond me. May Ra’s light illuminate the answer for you,” he prays then continues to mumble a prayer to himself.

bwatford |

While the others look around the room, Bjoern warns them to stay away from the hidden door as he has Amal help him over the next two minutes as he removes his armor and sets his shield down so that he can better assist with disarming the trap.
Bjoern new AC is 12
Malik cast detect magic as he studies the items in the room as well as the door. None of the items have any auras but the secret door imminates a aura. Focusing his detection Malik determines that the magic in use is conjuration (summoning) to be precise.
Amal seems Giddy as he uses his Thieves tools and begins the arduous task of disarming the trap.. with much glee. After a few moments Amal announces that it has been disarmed, as well as noting to the others that he also could re-arm it if necessary as he had figured out the intricate workings of the magic on the door and its triggers and mechanism. It was set to trigger if anyone even touched the door much less have opened it. Luckily he had found a small crack in the sandstone that allowed him to break the trigger without to much effort.
Anset took the gold scarab clasp for safe keeping and put it in his pocket.
Anset plus Gold Scarab Clasp added to treasury on the campaign tab.
Still need to know if anyone is picking up any of the other items. The secret door is now trap free and unlocked. You may open it at your leisure.

" Coasts all clear, I think we might be close, this trap was a nasty one but I think I can add it to my list.. So, do we want to explore what lies beyond or pick up the stuff here and leave? Once I start loading up I wont be able to fight well or explore as well. These arms were made for agility not strength "
Basically we can save the loot for later or take what we can now.. which for Amal.. is nothing, because he is almost at medium load.

Anset Ossari II |

”There’s no harm in giving a gift to the Pharasma temple. That’s an excellent idea,” Anset says to Saedue. He shifts his grip on his long spear as he waits for Amal to finish with the trap. He is about to get a drink from his water skin when Amal announces the trap is disabled.
“Praise Ra,” Anset says. ”Well done Amal. That’s clever,” he says as he inspects the wall and crack in the sandstone. He steps back to allow someone else to open the door.
"Exploring more is my vote."

Amal |

" Appreciate it Anset, It's a fine hobby I perfected over the years, bonus is, it keeps you alive. I vote for the door as well, might find greater wonders inside. " Amal going over the inventory of itms they had as others chose what to do.

Starting to rearmor himself and with the help of the others Bjoern is back to danger mode in no time."Let us prepare everything here for easy grabbing and explore the door. I am rather curious and hopeful to finally find the true resting place! As for the holy symbol... it might give us the Pharasmas favor, wich is never bad. Never tempt the gods!"

Saedue Menura |

Saedue looks at the items too, admiring the craftmanship and trying to determine their cost. She seems particulary fond of the scarab, the longbow and the mirror

The two vials of silversheen are worth 250 gold total.
MW Longbow is worth 187.5 gold pieces,
The 10 cold iron arrows are worth 5 silver pieces total.
Gold Scarab Clasp is worth 50 gold pieces.
Onyx and silver holy symbol of Pharasma is worth 50 gold pieces.
Silver hand mirror is worth 35 gold pieces.
Wax-sealed clay urn of nard perfume is worth 75 gold pieces.
The only thing that has been gathered up so far is the Gold Scarab Clasp by Anset.
Bjoern spends a couple minutes with help putting his armor back on and getting ready to move forward.

Bjoern Ghostbear |

First Bjoern takes out a few rags and a sack and carefully puts the items in the sack. "Silversheen and cold iron. Someone was afraid of opponents. Maybe we should keep those close. I take one vial, if thats fine? Dumah?"
As the trap is disarmed, Bjoern carefully opens the door.

Amal |

Amal waits patiently as everyone seemed ready to go after the treasure was made much more convenient to move and safe to recover. " Into the fray, lets see what else this tomb has to offer " tapping a sword each against the bottom of his foot. More or less ready to go, eyes keen.

Anset Ossari II |

As Anset puts the gold scarab clasp into his belt pouch, he tries to remember any specific legends or history of ancient Ossiria related to creatures affected by silversheen or cold iron.
knowledge (history): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

Dumah |

When the discussions on what was found start to die down, Dumah will quit his watch and join the others.
When Bjoern offers the silversheen he agrees. "I'll keep it at hand." He tucks one in his pouch.
The rest of the valuables that have not been claimed by others, Dumah will ask Bjoern "Help me secure these so we can take them with us." He'll stand still so the hulking Ulfen can find places to tuck or tie the rest of the found objects.

Bjoern wraps up the treasure carefully from the room and stores them in his pack

Bjoern plus 10x cold iron arrows
Bjoern plus Onyx and silver holy symbol of Pharasma
Bjoern plus Silver hand mirror
Bjoern plus Wax-sealed clay urn of nard perfume
Total Weight 9.2 pounds added
Anset meanwhile racks his brain for any amount of knowledge for the use of silversheen or cold iron. Cold iron has always been good against fey and some outsiders, silversheen for shape shifters and the like. But that was all in could recall at the moment.
Dumah comes into the room and accepts one of the vials of silversheen from Bjoern.
Dumah plus vial of silversheen.
Seeing that Bjoern has already bundled and stored the rest of the goods Dumah and the others ready as Bjoern turns to the door and jerks it open.
Expecting to find a tomb on the other side they do not. But a narrow corridor that runs ahead about forty feet before ending at a set of ornate doors set into a frame with hieroglyphs and pictographs set into them. They knew that the tomb waited just forty feet from them. It was almost like electricity in the air.

Saedue Menura |

Saedue says nervously
I can't believe that we have nearly succeeded on our first try. Can you feel the weight of history upon our shoulders? We are walking where no one has set foot for centuries, even millenium. I nearly feel bad for invading the king's privacy. Can we pay him respect before entering his final place? The tomb won't go away in a few minutes anyway... Anset, can you pray for the king and for us?

Anset Ossari II |

Anset swallows nervously as he looks down the corridor. They were so close. It hadn’t been easy to get here. This looked almost too simple. He cleared his throat. ”My lips are always ready for praise. Ra, your light shines within my heart. Centuries ago it filled the Ossirian’s hearts. We are coming to the final resting place of a great man. We seek not to harm or defile. I want to bring forth the treasures here to show the world what greatness was achieved when the populace worshiped you, Anubis, and the rest of the ancient pantheon. My companions have different motives but they are noble in their own way. Guide us and keep us safe.” He sighs peacefully then kisses his holy symbol. He grips his long spear, ready to defend himself if any undead creature charges them.

bwatford |

Amal begins to make his way down the narrow tunnel, he only goes has far as good light will let him not wanting to take the chance to try and search where he could not see good. Once down as far as light will take him he waves to the others that he believes the area to be clear of traps up to this point.

Amal |

I guess this will be all this place has to offer, in the end we get to the tomb. The ride was amazing however, I never would have thought of the intricate traps he had. If I didnt find the lever we could have drowned. Ahh well.. Maybe the next area. I'll have to compile these for later.
Amal seemed in deep thought but was assured the area was safe and thus waited on the light and either Dumah or Bjoern to open the door at the end to find what was inside.

Anset Ossari II |

Anset treads lightly into the corridor. He runs a hand along the wall. The craftsmanship was impressive. Leaving a gap for someone to be next to Amal if he needs help, the cleric mumbles another prayer to Ra.
Move to C9. Are there murals on the walls?

bwatford |

Amal waited patiently for the others for he did not want to move forward alone, especially at this critical of a junction before the main tomb. He was excited to be here and what traps must lie ahead or he wondered if they had finally overcome the last of the tomb guardians and now was just the time to reap their rewards. Either way he needed the others at this moment.
Anset quietly said a prayer as he almost tip toed into the corridor while running his fingers over the walls and admiring the architecture of the place. Their was no murals on the walls for him to see, he imagined in his mind that this would have certainly been a grand place for them. Instead the walls were smooth and bare of even a single hieroglyph.
With Anset moving into the corridor that provided enough light for Amal to move further up and check the door for traps which he found none of which if honesty was the virtue of the moment actually disappointed the rogue some. Looking over the hieroglyphs and pictograms on the door and moving to the side so Anset could see them as well, the duo determined by the pictographs and the hieroglyphs that all the markings showed that this was indeed the door that led directly into Akhentepi's burial place. It was indeed the final resting place of the general from long ago and this door had not been opened in over two thousand years.
Amal licked his lips in anticipation as Anset kissed his holy symbol, both men looked back down the corridor to the others and waited for them to get into place and get ready for the door to be opened.

Bjoern waits at the entrance to the corridor to rush down and help Amal if anything happens while Dumah steps just inside the corridor and does the same. Everyone waits for Amal to open the door and it doesn't take long before Amal swings it open.
A sarcophagus covered in gold leaf rests on a raised stone platform in the center of this chamber. The casket’s cover is carved the likeness of an adult man with his arms crossed over his chest, and covered in thick coat of dust. Two ornate chests sit beyond the dais in the northeast and southeast corners, and between them stand two large funerary urns.
The two chest look to be well-constructed, though dusty. The urns are made of bronze.

Amal |

Having seen nothing move nor anything amiss with a cursory glance Amal takes his time to search for traps. Once he had the all clear, Amal stepped into the room and peered at the treasure inside. " Well then.. that was more boring than I thought it would be. "
Take 20 Perception for Traps: 20 + 6 = 26

Saedue Menura |

This place seems so serene.... so beautiful. A king is there. We have to show proper respect
On the doorstep of the last chamber of the tomb, Saedue kneels and prostrate herself, praying in the ancient tongue of the land and praising the old king.
المجد لك يا العاهل المغربي الملك محمد السادس من هذا البلد السلطة من رأس (تقدر باحترام) المسار (الطريق) أكثر من الحجاب وفاة

Anset Ossari II |

Anset waits respectfully as Saedue prays, holding his holy symbol as the ancient words fill him with reverence. He moves to the doorway, just behind Amal again. He scans the room looking for hierogylphs to read.
I read Anset’s background again, and I don’t think he would have agreed to donate anything to Pharasma. He wouldn’t stop anyone if they want to do that, but he would see it as a waste supporting a misguided god and her worshippers.

bwatford |

Seeing nothing out of the ordinary Amal gathers his courage and takes his first step into the chamber. Half expecting all hell to break loose from somewhere but the only thing he noticed was the absolute stillness that proceeded him.
Moving up to the doorway behind Amal Saedue kneeled and said a prayer in the ancient Osirion language. Anset meanwhile passed her position as he held his holy symbol out from his body and stepped into the doorway behind Amal.
Dumah quickly followed the two brave adventurers while Bjoern hung back down the corridor and Malik still hung back in the chamber of grave goods.
So far so good, all was quiet in the tomb of Akhentepi.... almost too quiet. Peering into the room the group of adventurers could see that the two urns were not sealed and the two chest looked to have no locks on them.

Saedue Menura |

Rising up from the dusty ground, Saedue says
Don't trust your eyes too much, Amal. There must be a final trap, some bodyguard that will ensure the mortal remains of the King stay safe and undefiled for all eternity. You don't do all theses traps on your final resting place just to throw caution to the wind because you suppose no one will ever reach your sarcophagus.

Anset Ossari II |

Anset strides to the opposite side of the sarcophagus as Amal does. He looks at the ceiling and walls, wondering about the people that built this. His fingers trace the man’s likeness on the sarcophagus’s lid, wiping away some of the dust. ”What beautiful craftsmanship. Done with reverence of the old gods, no doubt.”
Move to D16. Any inscription on the lid?

bwatford |

Amal moves toward the northern chest as Anset moves to the south to get a better look at the sarcophagus, Bjoern makes his way into the doorway while the others hang back waiting for anything to happen. The chamber was quiet except for their footsteps. Anset saw it first, hiding behind the backside of the sarcophagus. The creature resembled a small, metallic cobra. Its body was made of overlapping iron plates, and its eyes are pinpoints of red light. The creature was poised to strike, venom dripping from its metal teeth.
