When the rest of the party walk in, the men and woman start cackling and howling out in barely comprehensible words.

"Strip the flesh.... salt the wound...."

@Deaglan and Varian: Both of can tell that these people have been horribly mutilated and cut up; surgical sutures are evident in exposed areas of the straight jackets and numerous build ups of scar tissue dot the neck and the back of the head down the spine. They all squirm as Deaglan tries to discover any other maladies, but these souls are undeniably insane, perhaps some sort of manic psychosis or aggressive dementia.

Mahasi cocks an eye. "Perhaps I am wrong. I wonder what this "meatcycle" and "spam" are; evil tidings indeed. I suppose we should concentrate on finding the architect of this madness."

Invisibility is still running for 3-4 more minutes. Enjoy while you got it!

"They seem too manic to let them loose... I would put them out of their obvious misery, but that would seem just as cruel as letting them live... it is not my place to take their lives... Perhaps we can see they get proper treatment after we deal with Crove."

Deaglan nods "I agree Varian, we should ask the major to arrange for care for them after we have dealt with Crowe. I do not dare to release them from their bonds, they would probably hurt themselves or others"

Into the open space Deaglan then adds "Shilyn, are you still with us? Might be a good idea to check these doors and then carefully open one to see what is behind it."

Shilyn takes her gaze over the conditions of those in the straightjackets. "You know.. whoever does things like this to someone, regardless of how crazy they may or may not be, should be put down like a rabid dog," she mutters angrily as she walks over to the doors to give them a once-over.

Shilyn looks over the other doors; they are unlocked and do not bear any traps. When she goes to the double doors north, she does hear several heavy footsteps approaching from the other side.

Turning to the others, Shilyn rolls her eyes. "Definitely someone talking on the other side of the door, with the nerve to tell me I'm noisy.."

What did you say?

Looking at Deaglan, Shilyn looks mildly offended. "I know right? Me? Noisy?" She pauses a moment tapping her lip, "Oh wait, they said they were noisy, so they're obviously talking about you all," she concludes with a grin.

The conversation ends in a moot point as the double doors are flung open; only Shilyn's quick reflexes prevented her from being knocked back by the brash entry. Three large men stand before the party, wearing crude leather armor reinforced with misshapen rivets and covered in dried blood and wielding savage, yet effective looking clubs. Their heads are protected by large birdcage-like contraptions, making it hard to touch the visible scars along the scalps.

"So deys da ones making da crazy crazy. Lezzee if da boss wants 'em.", one of them barks out before all three of them raise their clubs.

Note, the straightjacketed people count as difficult terrain, but unless freed, will not otherwise interfere in the combat other than making whooping noises and yelling for more meat-affiliated items.

The orderly in the back marches straight up and tries to knock Deaglan to the ground with a quick shot to the kneecap.

And he does have Improved Trip, just to note that

Owai's blade is out and flashing as he darts forward to the doorway to join Shilyn and give her some cover. He swings at one of the men.

Thinking quickly, Shilyn forgoes her rapier for a moment and takes a couple steps backward. She utters a few arcane words to test out one of her new skills while their enemies are still bunched up by the door..

@Owai: You nimbly dart past the slow-witted man and with a flourishing swing your scimitar slices upward along one of the men at the door. "YEAAAAA!! Dat glowy freak cut me!", he shouts out in anger.

@Shilyn: If you are unarmored (such as using mage armor instead of wearing your studded leather), then you don't need to make Spell Failure rolls :) Also, you will lose your invisibility for casting grease on them (this would be considered an offensive use).

Yellow Reflex: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Comically so, both orderlies start sliding around on the newfound puddle of grease at their feet, clunking their caged helmets into each other before falling to the ground.

The greasy orderly near Shilyn scowls at the half-elf. "Dat wasn't nice, girl I can see now. Lezzee how you like be yer butt ox!", swiping at her feet with his club.

The brute strength overpowers the rogue's reflexes and she with a thud. "Hurr hurr, you went conk, too!", he chuckles.

Varian creates a lucerne hammer and moves forward, strikes at the yellow orderly (30' move... blue if he's still up can take an aoo on varian).

@Varian: A grease area is considered difficult terrain after it's cast and requires a DC 10 Acrobatics check to move through without falling. I'll put the Reflex roll towards your Acrobatics, so that'll work, but you won't be able to attack this turn, just double move up to him (of course you'll threaten thanks to your reach, but that's up to you if you want to do that)

Deaglan takes a step back and swings his hammer at the red orderly.

@Shilyn: From his prone position, you're able to stick him, causing him to limp severely and is unable to escape.

You staggered him, so he can't make the move action to get away.

Varian's hammer then finishes off the man, crushing the cage along with the skull.

@Deaglan: Your hammer glances off of the lobotomized warrior's armor, the man unaware of the devastating power behind that swing.

The man then steps up and tries to trip Deaglan again. "AGAIN!!!"

Looking at his club, the man asks, "Is dis thingie borked?"

Shilyn, because of the unlikely hood of Owai critting and dealing max damage to fell the guy, I'm assuming Blue will be standing and will have tripped you.

Mahasi casts a spell of grease upon an orderlies weapon. Blues, DC 17 or 'slip'!

The large man is about to try and club Shilyn, preparing for a heavy overhanded swing when the weapon slips out of his hand like a banana squeezed out of its peel. "Hey, whut happind?"

Owai winces as one of the men is brained next to him and he swipes at the one trying to stand up in front of him.

As the man scrambles away, Owai tries to follow.

He advances up behind him and tries to knock him down to prevent his further withdrawal.

Owai, Shilyn dropped yellow on her own, so he couldn't run! You can move your aoo to blue, then take your turn against him accordingly

Right. I'll direct AoO on Blue, and attack him with the second swing.

Owai cuts the man once, as he stood, but fails to injure him as he causes Shilyn to land on her back.

@Shilyn: So, to be the bearer of bad news: you succeeded at the Acrobatics to back away from the Blue Orderly, so you can stand up without provoking from him... but this puts you in the threat range of the Red orderly, who can clobber you still. Are you ok with this?

Well.. when you're on your back, you don't always have good situational awareness.. Out o'the frying pan and into the fire so to speak. All in good RP. Of course, if he's standing there gaping in awe and misses.. well.. heh

Shilyn exhibits her agile grace as she rolls away from a club aimed at her prone head... and bumps into the other orderly, who gives a crooked smiles missing several teeth. "Heh, you look just like dem freaks on da ground!", swinging his club in a low arc!

The man hits the half-elf in the side of the head, some blood dripping down her body as she stands up.

The other orderly tells the one in the fray, "Ay, you hold 'em, I get more!", and tries to move out of the grease!

Unfortunately, you can't reach him with a single move action, put you with 10 and updated the map for you. If you want to be adjacent to him instead of with 10', go ahead and correct it.

Deaglan swings his hammer once more at the red orderly

Varian gets in the face of the wounded orderly, his large hand banging on the door as he yells, "Get up! We got sum truble!"

Meanwhile, Deaglan lands a powerful blow that audibly cracks the shoulder of the aggressive man in front of him. "DAT REALLY HERT!", he yells out.

He tries to get in Deaglan's face, but the raving man under him slows down his progress. Deaglan and Shilyn, you both get an attack of opportunity against the Red Orderly! I'm posting his action, but that assumes he survives both of your attacks.

"Ima gonna hert you back!", he then shouts, swinging his club with his good hand.

Red Orderly club @ Deaglan: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Damage on hit: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

The man manages to bash his club into Deaglan enough that his chest bruises, but the armor took the worst of the blow, minimizing the damage.

@Owai: With amazing grace, you land in the grease, perform a sharp 90 turn, and keep on going. You see Varian, hammer drawn, facing an orderly banging on the door. "Dey here, get out!", he yells.

With all the threats in the room dealt with, the elf spryly makes her way to follow the others.

The orderly at the door opens it; Varian can see another three armed men. "Dey here, get 'em!", before he swings at Varian's feet!

Blue Trip @ Varian: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27

He trips the aasimar before stepping back 5', so no AoO, while the others pile in, including another one from the northern hallway.

Pink club @ prone Varian: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
Damage on hit: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Pink club @ prone Varian: 1d20 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (7) + 5 - 2 = 10

The one directly in front of Varian bruises him in the chest, while the other glances lightly enough that the armor takes the impact.
