Alwyn digs a wand out of his belt holster and points it at the flying menace. The resulting pyrotechnics are quite spectacular.

I'm using my wand of Flame strike. Damage 9d6=31, Reflex 19 for half. Half the damage is fire, half is Holy. I then move to AD-AE 44-45.


Reflex save 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25.

The beast again avoids the worst, dipping a wing to avoid the centre of the blast. But it is still scorched.

Illes plays a few squeaky, discordant notes on his flute to draw the attention of the yrthak. "Hey dragon! We are many and small. Why don't you fly over across the river and attack the giants there? They are few, and big and easy to hit. Easier eating that way, right?"

That's Charm monster, enhanced with Captivating Melody. Will DC 21 negates.


Will save 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20

The yrthak gives a mournful, almost subsonic moan and dips its wings to wheel away from the combat.

It won't attack anyone but it won't attack the giant's either. But it might happily still eat a few townspeople in the meantime, theough that won't be immediately apparent to you. A Diplomacy check might be in order (probably with a penalty given the lack of time to speak) to get it to just fly away.

In the meantime - Sefayll.

At this point I probably need to rejig the map.


Just to let you know, I need to increase the area of the map to accommodate your movement. I haven't had a chance to do that and won't before I go on holiday.

If it helps, the haste spell was extended to 18 rounds. I did not try to count rounds since it was cast.

I'm fine with that position. And, in reviewing whether haste was extended or not, I realized that I had been overlooking a lot of bonuses, so I will bring them forward.

Modifiers in place for Sefayll
Hangover: -2 Attack, Saves, Skill checks
Mage Armor: +4 AC (armor)
Haste: +1 Attack, AC, Reflex saves (haste)
Shield, round 3: +4 AC (shield)
Good Hope, round 5: +2 Attack, Damage, Saves, Ability or Skill checks(morale)

So current bonuses: +1 Attack, +2 Damage, +9 AC, +1 Reflex saves, +2 ability checks

Oh, and Illes said the Haste ends on his turn in round 12 in an earlier post.

The position is fine. Sefayll can move at 40' without losing Camlo. And I don't think we've seen the second yrthak, so we'll hold off on the flamestriking for now.

For the record, I forgot about hast, and just double moved both Camlo and Sel.

Ithuriel has not posted since June 20 when he said the success of his new store had him so slammed he couldn't find time to sleep and that we should NPC him in the meanwhile.

I don't have time to investigate his options, however, so I will defer to someone else to state his action.


Clearly he's still slammed. As AG says, could someone take his turn.
