Vaard Ono'barv of the Flame |
Since Vaard is out of the fight essentially, lucky I cast Sanctuary!, I'll control Teprin. I'll post for him now.
Vaard Ono'barv of the Flame |
One terrible roll and one decent roll. Things are looking up!

Cole is a wonderfully comforting ally in combat. There's nothing like having him take big chunks out of the enemy to make you think, it's all going to be all right.
Meanwhile, let's all savor the image of riding a T-rex skeleton across the Talenta plains. Hands down, it's the coolest thing Wultram's done for us.
Of course who knows how anyone we meet will regard us and our mount?
Cole. |
So, I'm crying uncle. Work didn't get lighter. In fact, my videographer quit on me. Soooo ... life is more than a bit crazy.
Since last posting, I'm 147 posts behind, and i'm not sure when i'll gt to catch up. I enjoy this group, this character, this game, and Aubrey's DM'ing.
But honestly, for the last 3 months, i've been dead weight.
I leave it up to you guys. Would you prefer to get a player who can regularly in the game? Or continue to see if my schedule lightens up. (I've dropped a few of my others games for this very reason. This is a game I'd prefer to keep, but I'm obviously not to the point where I can be a contributing member right now).
General Tal |
Hopefully this makes you feel less overwhelmed. A bunch of those 147 posts are Wultram, Rehil, and I messing around with a dino out on the plains. Granted you would still have to go through them to find the parts that are relevant to you but you didn't miss as much as it seems.
Aubrey the Malformed |
Well, we need Cole. So if you can get yourself straight, of course you are in. I actually haven't posted for a month due to extraneous circumstances, so I'd be a bit hypocritical so sent you out on your ear. So we will keep Cole around for when you can get back.
Storyteller Shadow |
I can BOT Cole in combat so no big deal as far as I am concerned. So for the forseeable future I would say no need to move on at the present time. :-)
Wultram |
Yeah we have been at this for years. You can't expect there to be no complications during that time. And like Tal said vast majority of those posts are Wultram, Tal and Rehil dicking around with a t-rex jr.
And yes Aubrey has the right idea, get your priorities straight :p

Vaard Ono'barv of the Flame |
Right - his speed doesn't get him to C4, so we can assume what he does is as follows. He invokes his mythic power, which means he can move and attack C1 as he passes. He then charges C4 (allowing him to move twice his speed) and clobbers that one. So C1 and Vaard take 13 damage each, and C4 takes 30. However, C1 will get an AoO against Cole since he will have to pass it by.
C1's tail slap 1d20+3 to hit, damage 1d8+3
Continuing from where I left off...
Cole continues his stomping progress across the field of battle at remarkable speed, his maul-head connecting with the singing cloaker with a wet thud.
Ashshar.
OK sounds good! Will mark down the HP for Vaard.
Moved this to OOC not to clutter the thread.
I'll BOT Ashshar within the next day or so if he does not post before then.
Aubrey the Malformed |
OK, I've sent both Eben and Emissary a PM asking if they are still out there, and I received no reply. Assuming you are fine with it, if I don't hear from them in a day or so I'll advertise in the Recruitment thread for new players for those characters.
Storyteller Shadow |
I've not seen Emissary for a while in one of the games I run either.
It's ok for me. I know that Eben had indicated that RL was an issue with checking in on the boards though that was a few months back.
Aubrey the Malformed |
Yes. I'm quite reluctant to lose either of them. Emissary was quite keen when he was here, but he also indicated his family situation was tricky and I wonder if this is hindering his ability to post (plus her was around before I had my break, but doesn't seem to have returned since). Eben was with this game from the beginning and I really like the way he plays Cole. But we can't really limp on with two characters being DMPC'ed. I'll give them a couple more days.
Cole. |
Nice to be back. Thanks everyone for your patience — especially those that posted for me while i was absent. I see you had much good smashings and bashings of cloakers and cloaker-engulfed teammates. I'd have had it no other way.

Thoroughly enjoyable smashings and bashings :-)
Cole's build is terrific!

*waves* Hello everyone, I'll be taking over for Ashshar. Provided the DM is fine, I'm going to take him down the Stalker(Brutal Slayer) path from Dreamscarred press. Input is most certainly welcome.
Atsu Tzolotl |
Hello! I happened to be shadowing this campaign and when I saw there was some hunting for help I took a plunge. This particular character is one that I've played previously in a home game and it is my favorite character ever. I will probably need to make some adjustments (you guys are all higher level than the current version of this profile). In terms of party contribution, Atsu is a taciturn hardheaded do-gooder with some martial skills and some psychic powers. My main contribution in combat will probably be the psychic aura that provides a morale bonus to attack and damage to everyone near me.
Aubrey the Malformed |
OK, some notes on character creation. The original characters were created using 25 point buy, and as 6th level characters you get an additional +1 to a stat. You can adjust your stats as you see fit within this strictures.
Also please note - we are NOT using traits.
Any other questions, let me know.

When you create your character, could you link your various manoeuvres and so on so I can see what they do. I have a vague familiarity with the Path of War but it certainly isn't at my fingertips.

Also, please note below regarding equipment. The PCs at one point were very under-equipped for their levels, so the shulassakar were going to equip them (though a few stormed out before they got their gear, but that's another story). So please see below the budget and the method (Ashshar, for example, has got some of his gear which his previous player asked for, namely his bow).
For the benefit of those who stormed out of the meeting, the evil depraved types inside have agreed to equip the party. This will be abstracted as follows:
- work out the value of equipment (ignore basics like rations and bits of rope, but count any magic items and masterwork weapons and armour) that each character currently has and wishes to keep at purchase cost.
- for those of you with non-magical but unusual materials (I'm thinking primarily about the two lizardfolk with the bits of shell from Kalaktua which can be made into armour) assume these have a value of zero for this purpose.
- sell any items you wish to get rid of at normal resale prices (i.e. half purchase price). Divide the proceeds evenly between you, and add that to the imputed value of your equipment. You should now have an idea of your current wealth per character. Now compare this to the budget of 33,000gp (that's the expected character wealth for an 8th level character, in case you were wondering - slightly above your level, but not much) and work out the difference. That's how much you effectively have to 'spend' as a character. A few comments:
- you can take this in non-magical goods and gear, magic items or 'enchantable materials' which can be used for crafting magic items. Note that you are time-restricted as to how long you have for crafting - one week only.
- to get the shells made into breastplates, you pay the masterwork element only (150gp each for armour)
- existing items can be enchanted (like masterwork curve blades or mauls, for example, or indeed dragon-turtle shell breastplates and warforged armour) so you only pay the cost of the enchantment, not of the weapon itself
- if you have a friend (like a skeleton who follows you around) their equipment comes out of your budget
- if you are planning to spend lots of money on a single item, let me know - they might not have it in stock or be able to make it. Likewise, necromantically-inclined items will definitely NOT be available, though you can make them if you wish.Note that you will be given a few minor items in addition to cover campaign issues like disguise and communication. Don't worry about these when making your choices.

What should I do for my equipment? 6th level wealth, PF standard?
Hi Atsu, see above.
Regarding your character, there may be a brief delay while the other PCs fight off a horde of slobbering dolgrims. However, it gives you a chance to finalise your character. One of the things we need to address is why he is joining the party. My take would be as follows: the shulassakar are a bit disturbed by the advent of the PCs. They are infused by the Silver Flame, but don't exactly match with their ideals of what champions of the Silver Flame should be (one of a necromancer, another is a warforged, all they would need is a werewolf and they would have the complete set of things which really upset worshippers of the Silver Flame). Your character's role would be to keep tabs on what is going on and what the PCs are up to, as a sort of moral guide/spy. In the end this is more a pretext to get you into the party - you would have a free hand to decide what you actually do as a player and PC. Does this work for you?
Atsu Tzolotl |
Yeah, I was wondering why I wasn't just going to do that. It seemed very strange to use an equipment list from a version of the character that had never been in your game.
Do you have deep crystal in your setting? (It's supposed to be mined in Khyber in Eberron, but it's a 3.5e-ism so I don't know if you include it.)
therealthom |
Me'mori! It will be good to play with you again.
Guys, Me'mori ran a really good, characterization intensive game that I was briefly part of. Unfortunately I ran into a serious RL time crunch and had to drop out. He's got chops and I can't wait to see what he does with Ashshar.
Jesse, welcome aboard too. If you've been lurking, you know what you're in for -- basically a good game.

I have most of the Eberron supplements - which one is it in and I can see if it is OK to port across to this game?
