Speaking of in game,
Are we time synced? I know from this thread they are getting ready to come over the wall, and Trose has a pretty good guess who is responsible for the unnatural mist, but when combat breaks out I want to know we are in the same time line, not a minute off or something.
No peeking, please Rarely Accountant 2/Auditor 4/Waster 30
I've given that some thought. You are sort of time synched now - I've decided to ignore any discontinuities, which are probably minor in any case, in the interests of ease of play (and to avoid going insane thinking about it) and to make it fun (it is no fun arriving at the scene of the massacre of some of the party - well, maybe a little bit of fun, but not as much fun as getting stuck in with everyone else). You are rolling initiative so I can incorporate all of the PCs in one initiative chart, since you are about to be involved in the same battle.

Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!! Kiiiiiiiiilllll!!!! Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!
okay. better now.

Oh, It's Wednesday, 8:46 a.m. now where I am. In 1 hour I will be afk for 2 hours; probably doesn't matter cos of the Sydney time thing...
Also, from Friday 11 or 12 noon, (I think that's 6 p.m. where you are Aubrey), I'll probably be afk for most of the weekend. Before I go, I'll update my spell usages; it's no biggy to npc play me, I'm a combat medic. I just gotta run around healing folks.

THere seems to be lots and lots and lots of bodies moving around in the tannery compound. I, for one, am quickly becoming rather nervous...
Male Engineer Geek 6/Engineer 5/Engineseer 1
At least they won't want to grapple us, we stink like the sewers...
Dragonmann wrote: we stink like the sewers... What makes you think that they don't?
Vattnisse wrote: THere seems to be lots and lots and lots of bodies moving around in the tannery compound. I, for one, am quickly becoming rather nervous... Quickly, Ezreal, unleash your area-affecting spells! HYAH!
Manwolf Werewoof testing upper middle class twit 5
Let's mess these punk b%~&!es up!
Runzyl can see Rodergo and Trose... but I don't know if you guys have spotted me yet. Hmm...
Male Human Expert 5
Now that we are on collective initiative, should we keep posting with spoilers?
No peeking, please Rarely Accountant 2/Auditor 4/Waster 30
No - all out in the open now.
Vattnisse wrote: Now that we are on collective initiative, should we keep posting with spoilers? With the exception of the people in the fog, we can all clearly see each other, so I don't feel that spoilers are necessary anymore.
EDIT: Beaten by seconds by Aubrey.

I'm pouring over the thread; can't find it--anybody know what the 1/2 orcs have for weaponry?
Male Mothman Expert 5
Hmmm, I was wondering on their weaponry too, I'm not sure its been stated, but I'll see if I can find it ...
All those gnolls lined up like that, we should have taken Aubrey's subtle hint like five pages ago to buy a low powered artificer fireball scroll or something...

And deny ourselves the glory of surrounding ourselves with corpses, dancing furiously in combat, and streaming with ribbons of blood??!? NEVER!!!
I just realized that I've been forgetting to include my bonuses to attack and damage rolls for the heroes' feast this whole time. D'oh!

Hmmm, I can see that Janosz has posted to the game thread about half an hour ago, but I can't view his post ... anyone else see it?
Manwolf Werewoof testing upper middle class twit 5
Only the teaser--first couple words of it.
Manwolf Werewoof testing upper middle class twit 5
Huh--now it works. I see Vatnisse's (Janosz's) post.
Manwolf Werewoof testing upper middle class twit 5
Dayum. I'm feeling really good about this engagement. I guess trying to jump over a wall for three days had my spirits sinking...disaster fantasies about the two in the pipe getting turned to stone by a medusa...and Runzyl fighting a harpy and 2 gnolls all alone...
Male Mothman Expert 5
Yeah, Runzyl could take 'em probably...
But youre right, it was like the wall of doom for a while there.

Mothman wrote: Hmmm, I can see that Janosz has posted to the game thread about half an hour ago, but I can't view his post ... anyone else see it? Does it work now? I just keep on shooting at the ogre. Y'know, nothing fancy...
Male Mothman Expert 5
Cool, thanks Vattnisse. It'll probably show up for me later.
So you guys made it through the tunnel I guess! We're all here...

By the way, don't forget to update your character sheets as you expend action points - I can't tell how many you really have otherwise.

I have been. :) Yeah, mine's up to date too, I've used two so far this level, one an intimidate check, one climbing the wall. I intend to use one on my first gnoll attack, but despite rolling the attack in misguided anticipation several days ago, it hasn't actually happened yet, so I haven't crossed the action point of my sheet...
What are you still doing awake Fatespinner? Isn't it like 2 AM there?
Male Human Expert 5
Updated mine as well - I've used 3 points in this fight alone.
And, no, here in sunny Arizona the time is only 2300. Late enough, but still...

Ah, ok, for some reason I thought Fate was in NY, my mistake ('course I may still have the time difference wrong anyway)
Male Mothman Expert 5
Ach, stupid time zone difference! Well I'm off to my FLGS shortly, so going offline now. You guys know my intended action, and Ive posted my attack rolls in a spoiler somewhere if Aubrey needs to NPC me to speed things along... good luck with the battle!

Besides, 2am would not be unusual for me. I routinely go to bed at 2:30-3:00 in the morning.
And yes, I do work at 9 am. How I manage this I do not know. Perhaps I've got some elven heritage somewhere...

I don't have a problem with tactical discussions - in fact, just rushing in could be suicidal. But you did seem a bit bogged down by the gate. I suppose you weren't aware of what was going on elsewhere, and so wanted to be cautious, which is fair enough. But I did feel the time for talking had passed once you climbed the gate.
Manwolf Werewoof testing upper middle class twit 5
I think what it mostly is is I'm rusty. Last time I gamed, it was 3.5 but with some other old codgers like myself that constantly fell into 1st ed. think--i.e. the DM would say things like, "I don't care if 3.5 says you can backstab in the middle of combat, your thief can't do that." And the younger guy (who everybody insisted was a munchkin even though he was 24) wouldn't even look when the DM said, "what are you doing next, thief?" So I just gotta go over and over the combat chapter in the PHB until I'm competent.

It's fun, though, to be a virtual noobie again.

You seem to be holding up your end so far as I can tell.
Manwolf Werewoof testing upper middle class twit 5
Sun Tzu, Book of Five Rings, and The Prince will do that for ya. ;)
I was wondering--the choice of Norn for an n.p.c. name--was that a bow to Fatespinner's Avatar tag?
No peeking, please Rarely Accountant 2/Auditor 4/Waster 30
No - I simply wanted something that wasn't a normal name, but didn't sound stupid (like Zaphod Beeblebrox or something). The names I use are derived from ordinary names, with a bit chopped off, or altered somehow. But I think "Norn" just came to me as a name. It was coined for my real-world Eberron campaign, so it probably came into being about 18 months ago. The Norns wasn't a conscious derivation, but probably was lurking in my mind somewhere.
Manwolf Werewoof testing upper middle class twit 5
(note to self--scratch possible name for daughter "Zaphodina" off of list along with "Beeflebroxistasia.")

Vogonia has such a nice ring...
The elf is charging into melee with the ogre. He is intentionally goading him into swinging at him instead of all you wonderful squishy types.
Because, let's face it, compared to a barbarian who's rolled max on his hit dice, everything is squishy.
Male Engineer Geek 6/Engineer 5/Engineseer 1
I don't know, Janosz and I seem to have gotten a bulk rate discount on critical hits... though it doesn't seem to be helping...
I'll try real hard not to hit you with the tanglefoot bag...
Dragonmann wrote: I don't know, Janosz and I seem to have gotten a bulk rate discount on critical hits... 50% of all the melee attacks I've made in this game so far have been critical hits. Not 50% of the hits, no no, 50% of all the melee attack rolls I have made resulted in a crit thusfar. This is why I'm expecting karma to kick my ass very soon. :)

Okay, so I rolled a one on a spot check, but we passed 1000 posts on the game thread...
happy millenium
