Hey Patrick, one of my local friends has been hearing me talk about your two games. He wanted me to ask if you would consider adding another player to either game. He's an experienced GM and player, so he'll understand if either you or the other players don't want to mess with the mix at this time.
I'll post this over at the other discussion thread as well, so all can read. I'm really not sure which he wants to join. He's only registered on the paizo site today, with the handle 'Cromanganon'.

Greetings all. I am very interested after Neil has regaled me with the good times he has had with PbP. Fair warning, I am a paper and pen gamer, I have never done a PbP game before. I have read the dicussion posts and will make a character with Neil this weekend. Planning on a Mutant Human but I am open for anything that can pull a trigger and throw a grenade.

Greetings Cromaganon. Fear not, for PbP is verily an easy place to game. There are no snap decisions and the flow is relatively mild. I have only been posting a mere 7 months myself, but I love this form of RPG already. Read up on the backstory in this thread, and I can drop you in easily at almost any point since the road being traveled is choked with refugees.
Niel make him a good character. I trust your judgement.
Chiro |
Hello fellow adventurers, this is a mutant bat that loves to fight the good fight. My family lived in the ruined upper reaches of Chi-Town (Chicago) skyscrappers until the Wreckers arrived. Having your home dynamited out from under you is no fun. His family flew to Noratom with the rest of the refugees where Chiro and his sibs joined the militia. His favorite friend is his mount, a mutant plant named "Creeper".
I hope the flying rat meets with approval Patrick. If he needs adjusting let me know. I still need to roll hps.
Cromaganon |
I have added hp's after a couple false starts with Invisible Castle. Niel had to show me how to do it right.
My character would be interested in getting a pair of binoculars, a gieger counter, and a sound suppressor (silencer) for my pistol.
The gieger counter may not fit the setting, is there a reliable device for giving a bonus to spot/search common hazards such as bio or chem?
I see myself in the scout role a lot :)
Mutant Monkey |
Bat Boy looks good to me Cro, but I'm often lame with numbers, so if anyone spots anything amiss speak up.
The items you requested:
Binoculars are 100 NC, or 1 GP
A silencer is 50 NC
The geiger counter is really a non-issue as most destruction was non-radioactive. There is a Electronic Environmental Evaluation device (or as it is known in slang, the 3E) produced by the HVCS, but it is pricey. It costs 10 GP, or 1,000 NC. You might be able to pick one up on the road cheaper as you are currently headed in the general direction of the Happy Valley now. They will probably be less expensive near their manufacture area. This device would give a +4 bonus to spotting radiological, chemical, biological and nanological hazards within a 50' sphere.

Here we go, my character's mount. I used the Pinetos (Horse cactus) from Gamma World and a heavy horse as the base. It should have no trouble keeping up with everyone else's mounts.
I figure they would travel in herds that would look like a circus menagerie, think of all the sculpted plants from Disney.

Originally created as large decorative lawn ornaments, these mobile and domesticated large plants became popular as rides at children's parties and amusement parks. They come in all shapes: horses, elephants, cows, giant mice with wizard's hats, etc. Its behavior is made to be identical to that of a horse. When it is healthy it needs to be pruned regularly, as it grows very quickly into a "wild" state that looks frightening, especially when it still tries to act like a horse. It can be ridden like a horse, but needs a specially made set of tack and harness since it's "bones" are wood it's "flesh" vines and leaves.

SHOOT THIS MONSTROSITY IN ITS TESTICLES!!!!"
It's Plan C!
Back in school, with the first bunch I gamed with, Plan A involved prior knowledge of the monster/foe and having the right resources for the right target. Plan B was all about being ready for anything. But Plan C, that was short and sweet. Plan C was "Hit 'em in the balls, Then take their stuff." Ah the memories!

-bump-
(because I had no dot next to the thread)
Neither did I, but this should take care of that. BTW, I'm moving on Tuesday. It's just an in-town move, but I might not have home internet for some days. I have internet access in my office, though, so I can check the game flow at least half the day.
Oh, and I'm loving the game. Keep up the good work!
Patrick Curtin |
It's all good Vattnisse. I am glad you are enjoying the game, I am as well. I haven't done a Gamma World style game since I was a teen, it's a lot of fun. I am amazed at how y'all are mowing through my bad guys, I got to find a good force level to challenge y'all correctly.

Hey guys Having a blast as well, just a heads up, my comp is being repaired so my posts may be a little less...Also I am on Vacation to Europe from sept 1st til sept 21st unsure how often I will be posting while in europe, but I will do my best. Patrick I will get in touch with you before I leave and we can talk about what EVA's goals are incase I am unable to post regularily while on Vacation.

Guys - I'm getting married next Saturday, and my family is slowly seeping into town from tomorrow onwards. Thus, I won't be online much over the next week and a half; I'll swing by once in a while, but don't wait up for me. Roach is a simple creature - curse, spit, then shoot something.

That and if bad things happen everyone looks at the poor DM.
Opening scence, a TPK, Flash to table
Player 1: "Why didn't he use his grenade?'
DM: "Uhhh ... he forgot it?"
Kruelaid |
Hey Patrick. I have revised the grid and posted it on my "About Kruelaid" page in case anyone wants it.
I used a more common but still cool font (Copperplate Gothic Bold) and put a frame around it. If you still can't get the font I'll put it in Times New Roman next chance I get.
Just scroll down and take option 2.
