I like the visibility with this helmet, but I may need something that offers more protection if I'm going to be in fist fights. Taldo, releasing the imbedded halberd, pushes the open faced helmet off of his head, and with his right hand, wipes the drying blood off of his lip and face. He then gingerly lifts the damaged breastplate shoulder strap off of his left shoulder and carefully looks at his lacerated shoulder and broken collarbone. Looking to Seraphina, he says"Th..thanks f..f..f.for th..the d..d..d..drop. M..m..my a..a..armor w..w..will n..n..need l..l..looked a..at, a..and m..m..m..my sh..shoulder t..too."
Maelius leans against the side of the cart and gasps. I'm okay.. I think.. for now. What.. what was that all about? Man almost killed me.

As he whips around, drops off the wagon and brings his large sword down on the tanner, largely in a single practiced motion . Aiden uses this opportunity to hop off the wagon, climb up the ledge to the north, and fire a shot over the assailant's head.
Is there any place near here where we can stop? I think a rest would be good Maelius says.
why did he attack us?before Taldo climbs back into the wagon, he checks the attacker for anything valuable, stripping his armor and weapons and puts them in the wagon also. As he climbs in he tells Maelius "We will need to ask Rory about nearby places, we can always stop the wagon and camp."
On the attacker's body, you find four-mirror armor; a backpack with armor-crafting tools, a bedroll, a potion, flint and steel, a mess kit, a pot, rope, soap, torches, trail rations, and a water skin in it; a greatsword--which Taldo recognizes as being made of cold iron; a light crossbow, and 10 crossbow bolts.
As Rory rejoins the party and lets them know that they're not too far from the first town: Torstad.
why, what is so valuable that we have that he was willing to die, what a waste Taldo shakes his head, he loads the mans armor, weapons and gear into the wagon, favoring his shoulder. He then climbs into the wagon, placing the greatsword at his feet with his poleaxe and taking the reins calling out to the mules, "Hya mules Hya" continues the direction they were going.
Sera hops out from underneath the wagon and shouts at Taldo for leaving prematurely. Mael also chimes in, having not gotten back in yet.
As they leave the area, Lore recovers from his drunk-nap, "Did I miss anything?" he asks lazily. Rory rears up from his position lying on the floor of the wagon, and punches his father square in the face with bloodied knuckles.
"Just a bit," he says with a wince as he lies back down.
"What happened?" Lore asks, rubbing his cheek.
Sera will indeed hop back on the wagon after saying a prayer to the very deceased bandit.
Sera will ask to see the potion. She looks at its consistency and tries to figure out what it is.
I would like to get as far way as possible. I might have nightmares for a days now
Rory, still reeling from his wounds, does not have the presence of mind to answer his father who asks again, "What happened?"
Sera recognizes the potion as an elixir of hiding.
Still a little shaky, looks at Rory's father and with a slight tremble in her voice.
We got attacked...by a bandit on the road. We are okay, but the bandit is, she cannot get the last word out though as she chokes up inside.
Hey, hey Maelius pats Sera on the back It's okay. The man was crazy. He was screaming in some language I couldn't understand.
Taldo, driving the wagon, turns his head glaring at the drunk. what happened is we were in trouble and you were drunk asleep, my uncle would go on week long binges when he do that he was worthless, more worthless that usual. finally he say "W..w..we w..w..were a..a..attacked. W..w..we c..c..called y..your n..n..n..name f..for h..h..h..help b..but y..y..you w..were d..drunk a..a..a..asleep." Taldo, then turns back, keeping his eye on the road, focusses on driving the mule team.
