Taldo the Tanner |
good, were not fighting fire with a wooden stick, need to look bold to impress the Captain
Taldo, trying to look about without looking nervous, keeps a keen eye out looking through the doorway as he follows Dominic to he northern part of the room where the fire-thing was. Listening to Dominic mumble to himself Taldo nervously smiles looking at the floor and adds
n..n..no r..r..reason t..t..t..to l..l..l..leave b..b..back e.e.exposed
perception: 1d20 ⇒ 20

Maelius Boni |

Maelius steps back out of the room looking very unhappy Up to you. Maybe we can find the torturers first and then see if we want to keep exploring this place? Why are there all these monsters here? What's going on

The Little Game Master |

As Dominic looks through the archway, he sees that the immediate hall dead ends after 15', and a corridor turns off to the left just before him.
afk right now, update map soon, feel free to play without it if you're so inclined.

Dominic Tryst |

Just waiting on Sera's input, I'd hate to just drag along the unwilling!
Dominic looks excitedly around, befoere flashing a grin back at Maelius "Oh come now Mael! You can't say you aren't a bit interested in the "Great Unknown"!? He says with half of a laugh. The elementals might have put him off a bit, but Dominic's overwhelming curiosity was getting the better of him.

Taldo the Tanner |
don't be a chicken, we can prove uncle wrong, and impress the captain
Taldo, excited to be moving again, but still making little eye contact with the team continues on right behind Dominic, keeping a keen eye out going through the archway, down the hall and to the left.
perception: 1d20 ⇒ 3 keen eye on his shoe strings apparently

The Little Game Master |

As they look down the branching corridor, Dom and Taldo can see at the edge of the bright light produced by the torch 20' down, another corridor branches off this one. Beyond that branch, it's impossible to see the end of the hall down which they peer.
map update pending, I know it's getting harder to visualize without it. Should have an update by the end of Tuesday at the latest.

Seraphina Newton |

Sera, be strong. Remember father is watching
Sera will draw her crossbow and ready it in the event somthing hostile appears.
She stands near the back with Maelius.

The Little Game Master |

The others trail behind the two men finding a path through this ancient ruin, trying to stay in the light, and also trying to conserve their torches. Anyone know how long a torch is supposed to last? I forget
From their current position, Dominic and Taldo only see more old corridor, adorned with the occasional cobweb or rat-hole. They can't quite see the end of the current hall, but they can tell that the branching hall takes a sharp turn north a few steps inward.

The Little Game Master |

As Taldo reaches the edge of the torch's light, it starts to flicker and die.

even though it's on the map, you shouldn't actually be able to see that other light source. You may however, be able to figure out what's producing that on your own... Anyway, yeah, Dominic's torch, I'm not sure if it's been an hour yet, but I feel like it should have been...

Taldo the Tanner |
Can't yell out, cant act afraid, the dark in the hayloft was one thing, it wasn't really dark, the moon always shined in. This stygian darkness is something else, its like being buried alive.
Taldo freezes in place, taking a defensive posture that Lucius taught him. Staying as quiet as possible, thankful that his leather armor did not rattle together and glad no one could see him visibly shaking.

The Little Game Master |

Does no one else have a torch? Both my NPCs use two-handed weapons primarily, so I'd hate to keep them from being useful if anything happens...

Seraphina Newton |

I wonder what all these strange creatures are doing in such a ruined place as this? Perhaps we will find some answers soon. The people who are kidnapping people I would think are not connected to the strange creatures, or else they all would have attacked us...right?
I didn't take light...not to self lol

Captain Iyers |

Captain Iyers scratches his head in the dying light, "Well, if they're collecting magic-raced peoples, maybe they're also collecting magical beings on the whole...?"

Dominic Tryst |

[ooc]No I have a few more, I just hadn't been able to post these last couple of days - my apologies! Also, I too forgot to take Light. I realized it back in the other room. I had planned on picking up a few stones and enchanting them for everyone but then actually looked at what spells I had chosen and forgot to take one of the staples!{/ooc]
Dominic rustles in his pack for a moment before producing another torch. "Sorry, I should have been paying more attention to the flame." He quickly uses the dying torches embers to light the new one and stamps out the old one. "Alright all, left or forward?"

The Little Game Master |

As the light from Dominic's torch moves forward, he can see to his--and likely everyone else's--dismay, that the hall dead ends. The very end of the hall is strewn about with what appear to be small scorched bones, not humanoid, but one can't help but feel sorry for whatever woodland creature fell victim to this labyrinth.

Taldo the Tanner |
crap, can't I do anything right
As Taldo nears the end of the hall, he stops for a minute, looking around appearing almost confused. Then with a heavy sigh he turns around and walking past the party apologizing as he goes, he heads back down the hall to the offshoot and takes that direction.
s..s..sorry, v..v..very s..sorry, e..e..e..xcuse me, s..s..s..sorry, w..w..we w..will g...g..g..go th..th..the o..other w..w..way

The Little Game Master |

As they round the corner, they smell a familiar smell and see a familiar sight. It seems this is where the frightened fire elemental ran off. Only now he has no place to run.

"Hmm, well a dead end is a dead end I suppose. I don't particualrly want to tangle with the creature - I'm still hoping to never need to see another again. I agree with Taldo." He gives the man a reassuring smile and grabs his shoulder as he wheels him around - "Lead the way fearless warrior!" He gives a laugh as he shines his torch and almost drags Taldo along with him back to the room where the elemental was originally.
GM I don't want to play around with the Blackend areas of the map so I didn't move, however Dominic is going back to the room and into the center of it.
