That would be a rather cruel wedding present.

Congrats.

I can't post until tomorrow, mark of bot me.

I will be away for a few days and posting may be sporadic. Bot me as needed. I will be back online regularly on Wednesday next week.

The Man. The Myth. The Mask!

I generally agree with your thoughts on loot, Rathis, but I list it anyway because two of my groups do far have used the loot to buy things they have needed. Youall are the best prepared and equipped group.

No worries. I mostly meant that I wasn't going to be all that upset if I didn't get the manual. Didn't even occur to me that we could go sell it and re-equip ourselves. :)

We do seem to be a group that works well together. Good job forming us Choon!

The Man. The Myth. The Mask!

For readied actions, go ahead and roll the action when you ready. It just makes things smoother.

Just a heads up: I currently have the stomach flu, so I am kinda in and out of consciousness. I am feeling better and should be able to pick up tomorrow.

I pray you get better, and yah stomach flu is no fun.

The Man. The Myth. The Mask!

Indeed. The has hit my local school hard. No fun. How you feel better

I am better now, many thanks. Back to the slaying of monsters!

So anyone got any ideas here? We need to heal up some statuses before we can go on. Otherwise, it's retreat back to the city and return one more time.

We're not on a clock. If we have to head back, we head back.

I don't think we have any other option.

I can't even memorize a new spell since I can't read my spellbook.

Can anyone cast heal, or are we paying for it? Also, I think I we might have to knock out Rathis (no offense, but I don't really see a confused guy willingly going with us easily). Fortunately, we have several strong people in the party, and I can delay until right before Rathis' turn so that he's always attacking me.

Val can heal the group.

Yeah, Paladins do have access to the necessary spells to fix us up.

Can Val fix Rathis' madness and the boys' blindness? That seems to be our big problems right now.

Hmm, just checked, it's greater restoration to get rid of madness. She only gets Restoration. She can cast remove blindness however.

The heal spell will remove both conditions however.

Val can't cast heal. I think we need to retreat. Unless the GM wants, I'd say let's assume you can cajole Rathis into coming along, just to speed things up.

Just hold a bottle of booze in front of him...

The Man. The Myth. The Mask!

You now have everything Dellum asked for. Question is, what do you do with it?

I'm inclined to let those from Taldor decide. Omar really doesn't care either way, though he knows that he wants no part of being associated with revealing it if such is done. That information could well lead to a civil war, and those get messy.

Wars are also opportunities. Set up a little enchanting shop, sell goods to both sides...

I'm assuming that we have finished exploring the tomb? If so, then I would want to take the birth certificate and invite the king, most of his court, as many adventurers as I could get my hands on (including the party if they wanted to come), and his court to my villa Where I would present it as a gift. After reading it aloud, I would then ask him what he wanted to do about it.

I also would need to get a ring of chameleon power or a hat of disguise so that it appeared that I am unarmed and unarmored.

then if I lived through the whole thing I would probably resign my title and take to wandering.

but that's just my idea.

The Man. The Myth. The Mask!

All I need to know, really, is what you plan to do about your contract with one Mr. Daellum. He is expecting you back, after all.

I rather doubt the Emperor of Taldor would come at your beck and call. He's a paranoid loon, and doesn't leave his palace much. He remains surrounded by his Ulfen guard all the time because there are constant threats of assassination.

Taldor is a rather messed up place. Rather like the late Byzantine Empire it models.

Quick recap if you happen to know... Who would be the rightful heir? Not Daellum?

It is not mentioned in the module (yes, I've read and run the module before this), and I don't think it is even covered in the book on Taldor. The fact that Stavian is part of the Daellum clan is a mark of shame, especially since he is a bastard child. However he does still have some legitimate claims to the throne in spite of it (William the Conquerer for example was a bastard child iirc).

There are a bunch of different powerful families at the top of Taldor's power structure, and they would all use this as an excuse to vie for the throne. It would get messy, and a civil war would be very possible (or really likely).

There are details contained in the module which I won't disclose that would affect player decisions at this point. Omar is operating only on common knowledge of Taldor.

Oh, as to Daellum, there is no way he is anywhere near a line of succession. His family was pretty much disowned by the empire in toto (damnatio). I don't think they still have a noble title among any descendants (except Stavian and I don't think he even knows he is related).

We were sent on this quest by someone who said he was from the family and wanted to clear their name. Obviously we did exactly the opposite of that. The family was worthy of the punishments laid upon them.

M HP 148/178, AC 30/16/27, F +16, R +13, W +6, Init +3, Per +17 Half-orc alchemist 14

So, what do we want to do?

I feel like the fact that we're one-shotting this module and not using it as part of an ongoing campaign makes it a little moot, whereas if we were going on, we'd have the loot we got to worry about and coul ddo something to make sure Taldor didn't disintegrate.

Honestly, I think Rathis would argue that we should tell Daellum that we were unable to clear his family's name, and not do something that would cause as many people to die as revealing the documents would do...

Yes, as this is a one shot, it's pretty moot as to what we decide.

Heck, I played it as a PFS module, and even then it doesn't make a heck of a difference what you do decide since that is the nature of PFS. I think it can change the boon you get on the chronicle, but that's about it.

It is interesting in that the one shot high level modules don't really tie together in any way shape or form.

but I'm a legendary hero of the taldan emperor, and the peasantry love me. It's not like he can just ignore such a thing, either. then again, maybe i'll just do it at court.

As far as Dellan goes, I am all for giving him his evil artifact back and telling him what we learned, sans the birth certificate which I will use as evidence.

Heck my 17th level fighter in PFS who is a duke of Taldor would be quite amused if you presented such a thing at court. He can't stand the lot of the preening gits. He might have sufficient ennui by now that a civil war would be looked upon as entertainment. Couldn't be any worse than the nonsense the Decemvirate tasks him with every so often.

Omar, though, would just want to be clear of it all. He loots tombs, he doesn't really fill them as a rule (also a PFS operative, though the character is not yet this level and likely I won't get sufficient credit to get him this far).
