She yelps as Cain slashes across her back, then darts around the corner, deftly avoiding an opportunistic strike from Cain!
He follows got on her heels while the rest of the party recovers.The next room she flees into contains a sarcophagus and another for on the far side. The rat dives over the stone barrier and is through the far door in the blink of an eye!
Chase scene time! There will be a series of tasks or obstacles you don't know how many. Each of you and her will be attempting these tasks. You must overcome a certain number that she fails in order to catch her. You can also make your way through any obstacle carefully to avoid making a check, but this will inevitably put you behind the pace she's setting. Cain succeeded at the first task so he is closer than the rest of you. You all may participate from now on. It is possible for a party member to resolve an obstacle for all those behind them. This will generally be the second option presented.
Your first obstacle: the sarcophagus. The past must succeed at a DC 15 acrobatics check to vault it or a DC 20 str test to shove it aside.
kinda hard for the others to join, being that they will be 12 rounds behind...

she manages to catch her prey in a blurry vision through the dust, with the vision, she mentally marks her target.

she struggles and starts after her her slower movement may prove to be a detriment, but she pushes forward despite her weakened condition.

if the check is for a jump check then the result is only 18

I realize that after the fact, sorry about that really. I had hoped to say something before we met here but the meeting was rather sudden really. whatever happens, I'll try to adapt to the situation as best I can.

The fast reactions of the Catfolk saves him again, as he closes his eyes and covers the face with both arms as he got the first glimpse of the rat lady tossing the bag.
Blind, relying totally on his superior scent, he follows the rat-thing until he is well clear of the mysterious cloud, he had no intention to find out what it would have done to a poor Catfolk like him.
Seeing Cain leading the way, he falls to all fours and runs after him, taking on a faint green fur-color along his legs (AF: Frog +2 Acrobatics) as he takes a wide jump over the obstacle.
I am probably the fastest of us with a base speed of 40ft, so maybe that can be taken into account as well?

Sensing Simons discomfort and defensive behavior as the sack is thrown at them, Emily gets out of the way in time as well, then immediately follows her master, chasing down their assailant.

She too makes the jump over the impeding rock-thingy and is hard on the heels of the evil-smelling she-rat.
Emily too has 40ft speed if that is of any help.

You dash down a short hall and around another corner to see the rat flying! No, Jumping! Crap! There an old pit trap Right There! It's mostly filed in with debris that you don't have the split second to analyze...

Zadira finds the stepping stones in the midst of the rubble and makes up some time after stumbling earlier.

- why would you want to rod inside an ugly shaped stone rather than be buried in the woods such that a tree will blossom above you? -
as the next obstacle is already ahead!
Without thinking about it, he takes to a long jump over the pit, using all fours to propel him up and forwards (switching to AF: Tiger for both cats with a Swift).

Huh, I just noticed that my Reflex and Perception are exactly the same!
The very long jump carries the Catfolk over the pit without loosing any of his speed.
Mid jump he calls out a short warning for the others following behind.

As the rat lady rounds the next corner, you hear an odd rumbling noise.
The next room is thin, about 7 feet wide, and long, about 25 feet. The right side of the hall is covered in brown mold. The rat lady is getting progressively smaller as she goes and Cain is sounding the corner behind her when a spiked stone ball 5 feet across rolls from overhead and shoots down the hall at high speed!
2d20 + 3d6 + 1d3 ⇒ (2, 14) + (6, 6, 4) + (2) = 34
The rat is clobbered as she attempts to squeeze by on the right and she falls into the path of the ball!
The ball rolls down the hall one way or another every round, but it's exact timing is unpredictable. Every round spent in the hall provokes a DC 22 reflex save that Is modified by armor check penalties. Failure means 3d6 damage and a DC 22 fort save or be knocked down and into the path of the ball. There you will remain for 1d3 rounds as you gather yourself from the blow, taking 3d6 damage each round as you do so. The care with which you must move to avoid getting run over means that you can move a max of 10 feet per round in the hall.
Cain, the ball tripped her up for you, but you must now save her from the ball! Doing so will take at least two rounds. One to move to her and one to pull her back. The ball will roll and you'll have to dodge both rounds.
Kayla and Simon arrive round 2. Rest of you arrive on round 3.

Turning the corner in full sprint, Simon struggles to get to a halt in time, seeing the dangers ahead and Marco trying to get back out with their prey over the shoulder.
Deciding that he can be of no real help to get into that room of death, he remains at the border and calls out warnings to Marco, hoping to help him getting out without getting bruised or smashed to a pulp.

Another is coming from behind, take care!

As soon as Kayla arrives, Simon will ask her:

The big black feline sits down directly in front of the tiny frame of the ratling, the slid-eyes trained on their prey and every muscle ready to lunge at the target should it try to get away.
I don't think it will come up, but she readies a tripping strike should the rat-lady tries something funny.

Zadira casts detect magic and deprives the ratfolk of anything magical, as well as any weapons while she is unconscious. (She doesn't break her teeth or claws or anything... just manufactured weapons.)

Kayla catches up with the others. she takes a moment to catch her breath, then stoops to take a look at the captured rat lady.
she answers Simon, without taking her eyes off the rat lady, not a friend, an enemy actually, but also a wanted enemy. I have a benefactor that has tasked me to bring her to him, alive. Though I must admit, I never expected this chase to be so dangerous. the risks you took, are appreciated.
Kayla takes steps to keep her "quarry" alive, heal: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

Grelthe quickly glances over the map. Squiggly lines never did mean much to me. Then hands it back to Zadira. Maybe you could use this to supplement your own map?
Turning her attention to the rat lady, she asks Kayla "how dangerous is she? We can strip her belongings and bind her, but were can't stop her from transforming back into a rat and getting away."

trying to explain about her mission, Kayla really is trying to not divulge too much. mostly to keep the mystery of her abilities, but also cause its the way of her organization.
I am just to retrieve the bounty. honor a debt that I promised. and receive the payment that I was promised.
referring to the shape changing, I don't think we will have to worry about that, I have something for that, once I was aware of the nature of my quarry. of course to capture alive is not the normal protocol but I have my orders.
how long will this ratbane stuff work? I am assuming it will prevent her from shapechanging. maybe lock her in some sort of human form? I think I only have two doses.
