Kayla actually does not answer, she looks to be rather uncomfortable with the questions. she is not ready to divulge to much.

they are not evil, and they are not good either. they just do what needs to be done.

Kayla starts to bind up the rat lady in preparation to haul her back. she seems intent on leaving as soon as she is ready, regardless if any will join her.

At some time on their voyage back, Simon will approach you casually (which will happen to be at a time where you out of easy earshot of the others - maybe during a watch period?).

You probably heard him call Vuzi 'greeny-purrrurr' at some point before and thus know that this certainly isn't meant as an insult but a habbit of him calling people by some detail of their appearance rather than their name.

The trio back to town is uneventful. The Twins are making good progress on the shop, Vance us downright chipper, and the poo monster is not in sight when you pass through. Too bad it isn't out of smell...

A few days under the open sky is nice after any length of time in that death hole and not even being chased by mysteriously regenerating gargoyles can convince you otherwise! How do they keep chilling back?

Anyway.

You deliver your quarry.
Kayla, we can handle that in spoilers, of anyone else wants to do anything just let me know.

Your trip back is likewise uneventful. Grelthe, you notice that it's taking less and leads effort to bind Vance's flesh cravings and the effect is lasting longer each time you cast it. Odd... But it's enough to convince you that you don't have to drag Vance to town with you if you don't want to. He certainly wants to stay. He has a conference Sending the next day that would be a pain to re-schedule.

The rat wakes up the day before you get to Zelkor's Ferry. She sends confused, understandably. Wha... What? Who? Hey! Let me go! She protests, but weakly.

During the trip back, when the rat lady wakes up, Kayla offers her something to drink, (with a dose of that special ratbane poison in it)

After what happened in the dungeon, Kayla is certain that someone from the group will follow. she had tried to warn them, and cannot stop them. She can try to loose any followers but unsure what the roll would be...stealth maybe?

She delivers the quarry to the ferry. hoping on board the ferryboat. I brought you a visitor. Kayla says as she brings the rat lady on board the ferry.

She looks far away in the distance while responding, "I trust her enough not to follow her, but I cannot speak for what you should or should not do. That is up to you to follow your own plans. She is quite a perceptive creature though, and very likely may see you tailing her, even though you are very good at hiding, so is she." She makes eye contact with you at last. "Though I trust her, I cannot speak for whatever other company she is keeping... if you do follow her it may be at your own danger." Her eyes look sad at the thought of the big kitty-man in danger.

The rat lady drinks, but locks Kayla's eyes with her own while she does so.

The locals can add silver to your weapon, Zadira.

You approach the ferryman with your quarry. She doesn't struggle. The man smiles and says, Well done. I trust she want to much trouble?

The trip back is equally uneventful. You have just one area left to explore, the other side of the hall with the rolling ball of death. Thankfully, the northern door in the entry to this level gives you access and you don't have to brave the hall.
You find an empty room there with a secret door in the north wall.

Zadira casts Create Pit, making a 10x10, 30 foot deep pit on the other side (bad guy side) of the doorway.

Text of spell HERE. If bad guys were walking there, or it was at their feet, they need a DC 16 Reflex save to land in the pit safely or hop to an adjacent square. Otherwise they fall in. DC 25 to climb out, and falling damage if they get caught in it.

The pit lasts 7 rounds, and then anyone caught in it just comes right back up.

Zadira says Stay back! I'm trying to get them with a spell and I don't want to target any good guys.

She doesn't say anything specifically about a pit because she doesn't want to warn them, but if it works (which we would hear I'm assuming), then she will tell everyone it is a pit... after maybe dropping a fireball inside it. Although I am not sure you can cast fireball without being able to see. I have to look it up. I know you have to point, but?

On our next feat, we two should get stealth synergy.
We'll be like two dark and silent holes in the blackest of nights together!
It really helps to offset the effects of a chance bad dice, since you can simple take the roll of the partner who has the same feat!
