With a hiss Simon cries out: "Oucheww, what is this?! Why can't I smell it? Is it attacking from afar?""
So my attacker didn't get within 5ft of me or I would have smelled him (or it hasn't any smell to boot), yes?
Feeling Grelthes warm energy flowing over him again, Simon listens closely if there are any nearby hissing sound.
In the meantime, he loosens the shield he is carrying and makes himself as small as possible behind it.
Waiting to see how that second channel is working out.

Oh shit, didn’t realize but str damage and as a result shadows are totally my weakness. Shifting the enchantment bonus on my weapon/shield last round as a full round action where I was skipped because apparently the post I thought I made didn’t go through. My shield bonus (+5) now applies to AC vs these things, removing keen and light fortification for ghost touch. Was there a save vs the str damage? Also is this supernatural darkness or can dark vision see through it?

I am unsure where exactly Kayla is, but I think she is not in the darkness. so she is trying to guide anyone alive out toward her.

I don't think Zadira should be unconscious? You took 10 STR damage, which only gives you -5 to your STR score, so you should still be at STR 5, right?

My base ability score is 8, and is adjusted to 10 with my belt of giant strength, and I have 10 damage. I was going off the explanation HERE that explains what happens for each score. I thought I might have actually been dead, but that is only for CON.

The party falls back toward Kayla. You stumble into the light and even the dim dungeon feels like a summers day. Simon, Emily, and Cain form the rear guard as Kayla is dragged out and Grelthe releases more divine enegy.

Ok, Immediate action means that she would, reasonably, use it on the first attack. It still hits, so Simon takes 1 slashing and 1 Str for a total of 4 slashing and 3 str for the round. She can use it only once/rd as it's an immediate action.

Simon and Emily's attacks hit on stone hard foe, but it isn't destroyed. Their attacks are having a hard time doing enough damage to make a huge difference!

Thanks for the heal. Also, this battle is super confusing without a map, but I suppose that is fitting since we are in the dark.

Grelthe curses in Skald and says "I am running low on divine energies for today. I can try to fight with my Morningstar in the dark, but I can't tell where anything is? How are you all doing? I am unhurt, but am going to try moving." You hear a quaver in her voice you've never noticed before.

She carefully listens to try to find an enemy...

If she can figure out what square an enemy is in she moves towards and attacks that square, otherwise she moves toward where she last saw Zadira and holds her action to attack anything that attacks herself (or Zadira, if she reaches her).

Simon, Emily, and Grethle hapoen to hit the same foe and it clatters to the ground!

Cain also hits and sends another to the stone floor! They seem to be weakening!

but that doesn't mean they're out of the fight!:

Recognizing Simon's weakness, the foes go after him! Emily instinctively protects her Brother, but unwittingly opens herself up to a brutal, savage counter attack! Two blades pierce her just behind the shoulder and try to drink her soul away!
Simon takes 3 slashing and 1 Str tanks to Emily, but Emily takes 15 slashing and 8 Str in turn!

Cain holds the line very well, using his innate powers to keep himself from being drained.

Simon does not feel the new, small cut.
Its pain pales against the overwhelming weakness that fills every muscle and sinew of his body.
He feels tired, sleepy, exhausted like never before in his entire life.
The feeling intensives even further as Emily gets cut repeatedly and she feels the same loss of strength as he does.
All determination vanishes and he simply follows the voice of his friends.
Vuzi could help him.
She always could.
Summoning all his strength to duck low, Simon trys his best to make himself a hard target on his way out.
Withdraw both cats to where Vuzi is calling.
I'll add an acrobatics check as well, since I cannot know from where attacks might come, so hopefully I can make myself a pretty hard target that way.

Simon Acrobatics: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (12) + 14 = 26
Emily Acrobatics: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22

Tough decision, went with IC and situation flow.
Simon cannot know that stat damage is way harder to heal than other hp damage (and I think only Grelthe can do so anyway?).
Metagamer in me guesses that I might have as well stand my ground and tried to dish some more pain out but we'll see what it is good for...

Grelthe is actually excited one of them finally took a swing at her, much easier to locate them that way. She redoubles her efforts (power attack).

Simon can feel Emily getting healed by the touch of the half-ork and exhales thankfully - just as he sees something out of the corner of his eyes.
Like haze on a hot summer day. How could this be?
With a weak voice, barely conceivable as his own, he point it out to Vuzi, while uttering the arcane words of perception.
All while doing his best to keep as close to Vuzi and Emily as possible. use detect magic on the shimmer. Sadly Simon has no whatsoever how magic actually works...
