M Half-drow ghost summoner 7

The Osyluth wasn't in the way when I summoned......

M Half-drow ghost summoner 7

By the way, I will waive the leopards' attacks of opportunity for the Osyluth summoning, even though the grab might have been very useful to prevent it from actually happening. I'll "take 1" on those rolls... <evil grin>

Rocks fall, everyone dies

Since you can put multiple creatures in the same square (they just don't like it) I don't see anything wrong with summoning them all into the same spot roughly.

Also, you can create tokens on dungeongrid by dragging an image from your desktop onto the board. Or I can create leopards if you prefer.

And yeah, that shadowy thing is the Babau. It's a low-level demon that specializes in dispelling.

M Half-drow ghost summoner 7

Leopards are placed. I actually just assumed they were there first, so I moved the osyluth five feet south, which doesn't change a thing tactically.

Rocks fall, everyone dies

Well, TSG, that was fast. The priest, of course, had Protection from Evil active, which did nothing against the attacks of good-aligned summoned creatures.

This may be the last time I stat out an NPC with no armor. Probably not though!

Rocks fall, everyone dies

Also, for the record: leopards only get to use their rear claw attacks if they charge. Still enough damage to kill though.

Yes, I know. I figured I was creating them 10' away and then sending them in.

Rocks fall, everyone dies

Oh. Well, then they would've been affected by his repulsion field, and probably not made it into the room. Since that might've changed the outcome of the fight, I'm just going to go with how I interpreted it—hope that's okay.

Wouldn't all the leopards have to save vs the aura?

Ooooh. Repulsion.

We beat a Cleric 13 that quick?

Rocks fall, everyone dies

They would normally have to save vs the aura, but a summon spell can place them right on top of him—and they get to attack before the priest backs up.

Specifically, the NPC wasn't expecting to fight a large number of enemies, but rather—if anything—a small number of powerful ones. I assumed when I set it up that the fight would be easy if the paladins were on your side, hard if they weren't.

Mmm. You're right. The Paladins can really swing this, seeing we're evil.

I'm really considering unholy blighting them to get their loot. But I probably shouldn't.

Sure. Call 'em as you see fit, keep the game moving.

So, the priest is down and both devils are dead/retreating, yes?

i mean...

Rocks fall, everyone dies

Yep. Combat is effectively over, unless somebody wants to stab the paladins while they run to get a healer. But there's only one standing guard over the body right now (I'm not going to bother updating the map)

Status:
Warlord 9 HP 251/251 | AC 46 | T 29 | FF 38 | F +33 | R +34 | W +32 | Init +11 | Per +32 | SR 28

Haha, nice one Shimsil. Compensation indeed. :D

So, basically, we get to kill the guard, do what we will to the body, then leave before they get back?

Rocks fall, everyone dies

Pretty much, as long as you've got a quick escape plan. Don't need any rolls for killing the guard, if the party chooses to, because he's just one out of many paladins.

I think it might be worth waiting to see what the rest of the party thinks first, though, before I resolve this and take you all back underground.

Diamond (CR +2) Soulbolt 7 (HP: 151/81; AC 16*; Fort 7 - Ref 10 - Will 10; Perception +15)

Yeah, i figured i'd give it a shot.

i purposefully did not give him an order about the body, since i wasnt sure what the plan was about that. our execution of the original plan was hectic enough

35/35 HP, Temp HP 0, 20 AC, Fort +2, Ref +5, Will +7, Reservoir 8/10, Channel 8/8, Active Effects: Mage Armor

I'm kinda proud of that fight. I did my job exactly the way I wanted to and didn't even have to break invisibility.

Diamond (CR +2) Soulbolt 7 (HP: 151/81; AC 16*; Fort 7 - Ref 10 - Will 10; Perception +15)

probably best for our bluffer to blame the demons that fled for the lack of a soul in their beloved corpse.

and now we can wait for treasure! wooooop wooooop! I'll take mine in a to-go bag

M Half-drow ghost summoner 7

Did we want the treasure, or just to get out of here? I suspect the treasure itself is of little use to me, but we may want to buy stuff.... so I'd say take the loot and simply walk away.

Someone who can teleport can simply grab the body and leave. I thought the imps could, but upon review It would seem not.

M Half-drow ghost summoner 7

Why do we need the body? With the soul trapped, it's just 80kg of rather poor quality meat.

Need? Not necessarily. However, that's where the loot is and I'd rather not ransack it while surrounded by an army of Paladins.

However, it's significantly harder to resurrect someone without the body. We too some measures, but thoroughly destroying the body is a simple addition we can make. Plus if we bring it back to the Crimson Stranger she may give us a bonus.

FYI: undead are about to overrun this place.

35/35 HP, Temp HP 0, 20 AC, Fort +2, Ref +5, Will +7, Reservoir 8/10, Channel 8/8, Active Effects: Mage Armor

just because?

I suppose it would cover our tracks pretty well. Kinda like torching a place after robbing it.

This appears to be what's happening...

Mal, we really don't want your undead to storm the place because they're going to bring us 5k of loot if you don't.

Having a little trouble with the doc for some reason, but the Ring of Mind Shielding would be my pick so I don't have to borrow non-detection from Mal.

Female Half-Dragon Elf

The ring of Mind Shielding is nice. Not only would Iranaset finally be able to cover her alignment on her own, she'll also be able to stop Delyliath from trying to see all of the filthy gorgeous things that run through her head.

But Illia beat me to it...

I'll wait to release the undead until we have the loot if you mention it in character, but you won't have long. 10 min max. Then I'm releasing the undead and razing this place on the way out loot what you can while you can.

Male Alacritous Bralani Stalker 5/Umbral Blade 4

Why are you in such a hurry to release them? I was planning on scouring the library for anything useful, and possibly charm the young man into helping us.

Also, I definitely claim the Headband. If nobody wants the belt, I'll take that too.

Diamond (CR +2) Soulbolt 7 (HP: 151/81; AC 16*; Fort 7 - Ref 10 - Will 10; Perception +15)

Nothing I can particularly use. Maybe still what isn't wanted and enchant an extra dimensional space in my handle

35/35 HP, Temp HP 0, 20 AC, Fort +2, Ref +5, Will +7, Reservoir 8/10, Channel 8/8, Active Effects: Mage Armor

I can fix you up with that handle of holding.

Shimsil, what item slots do you have? Could we put rings on your hilt, or amulets in your pommel? Could we rig a hollow hilt to put wands or rods in?

here's a thought-

Could we make a special sheath and belt for you as a wondrous item that could count as a part of your "body?" We could fake most item slots by attacking items to your sword belt.

What do you think?

Rocks fall, everyone dies

Well, the extra stuff can be sold once the mission's complete.

Well, once Drisquar's library run is done, I believe we can TS to meeting back up in the Crimson Stranger's place?

M Half-drow ghost summoner 7

Literally nothing I can use, so, gold. I'll crank out more items or something later.

Because we're surrounded by paladins who want nothing more than to beat us with smite sticks if we're discovered. Also, we just killed a high priest so they're likely to be on edge. I'll hold off though if you all want to rummage through the church.

Diamond (CR +2) Soulbolt 7 (HP: 151/81; AC 16*; Fort 7 - Ref 10 - Will 10; Perception +15)

I have a hollow handle. Not sure on what magic item slots I have.

Of all the things listed I would like to borrow the bracers of armor.
Once I reach next level I will wear actual armor, but at the moment I have no armor proficiency at all.
I also have use magic device at +18 and is a DC 20 to use wands. So if you need someone to keep the wand and use it on the party I'm up to the task.

35/35 HP, Temp HP 0, 20 AC, Fort +2, Ref +5, Will +7, Reservoir 8/10, Channel 8/8, Active Effects: Mage Armor

you don't want that liars robe?

I can change shape at will.

The Liar's robe would be a definite downgrade for me.

Male Alacritous Bralani Stalker 5/Umbral Blade 4

I think I want to turn the minor guard into a charmed squire whose main duty will be to carry around Shim on a golden platter or maybe a posh pillow...

Just got to work so I will post library and encounter stuff later.

Rocks fall, everyone dies

Might be a bit of work bringing him back with you, although you can totally carry people in wind form so maybe not.

Male Alacritous Bralani Stalker 5/Umbral Blade 4

I want to wait for Shim to respond first, just to see how he feels.

Also, regarding my search of the library was to see if I could find any spellbooks or magic tomes via Detect Magic.

Rocks fall, everyone dies

Yeah, probably three or so minor magic books would be reasonable.

Male Alacritous Bralani Stalker 5/Umbral Blade 4

Ok, so we can gloss over that, and you can just add it in to the loot total when able.

Diamond (CR +2) Soulbolt 7 (HP: 151/81; AC 16*; Fort 7 - Ref 10 - Will 10; Perception +15)

take me or leave me I will be fine hah

I've been here, it's just Illia's waiting for Drisquar to give Shimsil to the drow under the pretense of the gem being inside it. Hell, put the gem inside it. It's super safe in Shimsil's hilt.

Rocks fall, everyone dies

Will assume you stole the most valuable books in the library (any super powerful tomes would be stored somewhere else), and add to loot list.

Diamond (CR +2) Soulbolt 7 (HP: 151/81; AC 16*; Fort 7 - Ref 10 - Will 10; Perception +15)

i seriously just considered attacking the drow, but i figured the party might get mad. hahaha

"trick first, kill second"

As for rewards, Shimsil could use a bag of holding in the hilt of the sword, and with an eye towards increasing its size later.

BoH costs 2500, but x2.5 would cost a bit more than the 5k treasure, so maybe, maybe not.
