The Summoner's Ghost |

Regarding equipment,... it's surprisingly hard to equip a ghost. The easy way out would be to get the Amulet of Grasping Souls which essentially turns me into "real" character for purposes of equipment, which would probably make me much more effective (use wands and all that) but also sort of breaks the character concept. So I'm torn, It's partly depends on whether we're deep enough in the mulligatawny to value power over flavor -- so far, we've owned everything we've faced, which makes RPing easier....
But if anyone wants to point at some cool ghost-friendly equipment, I certainly don't claim to have read every entry in the entire UE book.....

The Portable Hole idea is fantastic, but I think a bit out of our current price range.
I don't think it does. We have crafters, which brings it down to 10,000 gp. Now, granted, manufacturing it will be a skill-intensive process, but we're all friends here and cooperative, right? (he says, dryly).

I was evaluiating being bard or anti-paladin at the start but then I chose bard.
That doesn't prevents me from taking a couple of levels of anti-paladin but I don't know how much it would feel right RP-wise.
there is also a matter for the DM.
Would you require a deity?
Calistria is out of the question for Delyliath.
She has a certain admiration for Nocticula but she's no deity to her.
On Anaxian suggestions:
1) yeah they are nice. but are they such high priority? last time I rolled 4 on a bluff nobody had sufficient sense motive to look through my lies, not even taking 20. and those are skills Delyliath is going to max anyway.
2) as pointed out.. conductive works on melee for my power. there is the throwing route but it feels kinda cheesy. Especially since is heavily implied that to work the weapon has to be in contact with my hand and it just conduct the power of my touch.
3) I'm going to have light armor proficiency soon. But I have to admit armored corset and miniskirt has its charm.
4) yeah a shield would be fine for melee.
5) Is it worth it? don't get me wrong, by itself a small enchantment for a +3 damage is well worth the trade. but on top of 6d6 vampiric touch damage it seems pretty marginal. I would rather take something that helps me land that 6d6 more easily than adding 3 damage on top.
6) The whip seems very nice. Since I'm immune to poison and you are suggesting one shot trinkets I'm wondering about poisons.
I can deliver ingested poison by kiss.
Also.. I am looking at nightmare vapor. It's a little pricey at 1800. but has a high save, damage to wisdom and confusion.
feels like an encounter ender. The enemy would fight among themselves and whoever is still standing after 6 round of internal struggle and loosing wisdom would likely be ready to become my puppet.
Aside from the whip. any other ways that could help me deliver a forced energy-drain?
If someone is not immune to mind effects that's not a problem. I'm thinking about all the immune ones.
Also, I'm immune to electricity and fire... I wonder how many ways I can exploit that. point-blank fireballs and fighting inside a wall of fire are the obvious ones.

Well, Spectral Hand specifically lists Spells, but there's a pretty easy argument to be made that it should work with Supernatural and Spell Like Abilities though.
Since magic items tend to slightly alter the base function of the spells used to make them it should be possible to make an item that would allow it.
It's a GM call. You'll have to be extra nice to Dapper when you ask.

Drisquar |

My suggestion of Calistra wasn't to actually worship her, but instead possibly take mechanical things like feats or spells for her and re-flavor them. Heck, maybe not even do that, depending on how lenient Dapper is feeling.
Calistra, however, as the goddess of Lust, Revenge and Trickery seems to fit a lot of Del's outlook. So while perhaps worshiping her is not something you feel is right, maybe making use of the mechanical stuff designed for her would be beneficial.

Malefeasance Efescent |

Ill just leave this here. :-)

The Dapper GM |

Hmm. Amulet of Grasping Souls might make sense as a quest item, or just an item to get later in the campaign (I don't believe anyone in the party can make one right now, and it might not be easy to find one for sale).
There are variant ghosts that can touch things, so in the long run it's probably okay flavor-wise.
Antipaladins don't need a deity unless they're an alignment variant—otherwise, chaotic evil usually means the antipaladin serves her own interests, not some church's.
There's an argument for Spectral Hand working with spell-like abilities, but I don't see it making sense for supernatural ones. I'd probably allow it on a magic item, but only something with limited uses per day.

The Dapper GM |

Also, just noticed Profane Gift. Does anyone know if there's errata on this about the maximum number of gifts, or can Delyliath just give a +2 profane bonus to one ability score to everyone in the party she likes?
EDIT: Never mind. The ability only works on humanoids, of which we have none.

Delyliath |

Good .. then I'll take the anti-paladin into consideration.
the first level would still be bard, the next one I will evaluate the Anti-paladin route on a RP basis. I think it will also depend a lot on what happens during the game.
I read the topic on Succubus STDs a couple of days ago...
I think I'll reply.
There are hundreds of reasons why Succubus STDs are not viable.

Actually, we're scarily close right now. I think I could make it now with a bit of cooperation and possibly borrowing funds from someone else. Since I don't think I actually want it right now I won't weary you with the actual math....

It's still a DC 28 Spellcraft check...

Anaxian |

Once I realized I had forgotten to give myself Spellcraft (a huge oversight on my part) I rearranged my points.
I have a +18.
One of the first things I'm making for myself when we figure out a new home base is going to be a Spellcraft skill boost item and a masterwork tool, for an additional +7.
Then I could tackle your amulet and only need to roll a 3 or better.

Or you could take 10 now.
Scary, huh?

Malefeasance Efescent |

Are you allowed to take 10 while crafting?
Yup. With just a little effort crafting is really easy now. The larger limitations are gold and time.

Malefeasance Efescent |

I'd recommend the teleporters scout for a few days while the rest of us make our way. We're fast enough that most things won't/can't bother us.

Malefeasance Efescent |

Makes sense to me. On the other hand, it's not like the teleporters can't make a half-dozen trips over five minutes.
I think we're overthinking the transportation issue.
Most likely.

Drisquar |

The only thing we're making sure of is how to transport any of us who can't be counted as objects for the porters.
Remember, their ability is limited to Self Only, plus 50lbs of objects. They can't take Irana, myself and Mal, period.

Also they wont be able to find our location as we travel because they have no description of it. They'd need to scry then teleport. Of course they could teleport 100 times along the travel route to try and find us.

Drisquar |

So the items I want are:
Headband of Wis+4(8k)
Belt of Con+2(2k)
Boots of Striding and Springing (2.75k gp)
Which is obviously well over the 8.3k we each are supposed to get.
As the Wis bonus is key for my class, I took that, as its the one item I definitely want.
The other two would just be solid extras to make me a better in combat.

The Dapper GM |

At this point, I'd say to everyone if nobody else claimed the items on the spreadsheet, go for it, and just use your extra 5k of diamonds to buy the extra bit. We can assume that everyone gets a total of either 8.3k or 13.3k of GP, depending on whether or not they got a special reward.

Drisquar |

Odd question: Can I run in Wind form? As in x4 movement.

The Dapper GM |

Sort of. You normally have a natural fly speed of 100 ft (perfect); as a creature with a fly speed, you can run while flying.
However, the wind walk spell grants you a wind form speed of 10 ft (perfect) or the option to instead fly 600 ft (poor) per round; since the latter is not a movement speed but a full-round action, it's not run-compatible.

Drisquar |

I think the Wind Walk is what grants me the 100ft(perfect) fly speed, as it says under the description for Wind Form that if I am in humanoid form, I can not fly or use whirlwind blast.
Maybe that's special to just being a Bralani?

Tiny Coffee Golem |

Hey guys, keeping up with at least 1 post a day has been pretty hard for me. So I'm going to have to drop out of this one. There are like 20 of you left so it shouldn't be such a big deal. I've had a lot of fun and thanks for playing with me.
Cheers,
Taco.
Sorry to hear that, but real life comes first. Best of luck.

Malefeasance Efescent |

Does this mean I can proceed with my plan to kill Inraset and steal her body?
What's funny is putting my armor on her would effectively accomplish the same thing. :-)

The Dapper GM |

Oh no! You will be missed.
To be honest, I'm hitting more and more responsibilities, and as some of you have noticed am slowing things down a bit (which I mentioned at the beginning, and is not a sign that I'm too busy to keep running this game). Mostly, when I post a lot, it's because I'm sitting in lab all day waiting for a boring experiment to finish.
If you want to leave and come back later, that's also alright.

Iranaset Maior |

If you want to leave and come back later, that's also alright.
This. Hopefully things will slow down soon. I work for a software company and like most software companies, we're coming up on a deadline and are so far behind its a wonder our products see the light of day.

Delyliath |

Does this mean I can proceed with my plan to kill Inraset and steal her body?
oh no you don't.
I have only 3 party members that are alive and are still able to be charmed, completely overwhelmed by hormones and level drained into submission. Some rotting, bony thing abandons the party, you are free to dispose of it however you want.
If it can still be affected by succubus pheromones, that's my property.
