Seeing how my second attempt at this game died I figure I would try running it again. Third times a charm or so they say.
Character Creation guidelines:
Characters are level 13
Standard wealth by level(140,000)
Classes from Core, APG, UM, and UC are acceptable
NO third party publishing sources allowed
Core races only.
2 traits
Stat generation will be 2d6+6 or 20 point buy which ever is higher.
I'm looking for about 4-6 players ultimately. I will keep this open for a week or until I get 4-6 strong player concepts which ever comes first.
Any other questions can be posted here.
Every year the Acadamae—Korvosa’s prestigious school of the arcane arts—opens its gates to the city to host the Breaching Festival, where the most skilled infiltrators are invited to enter the magically guarded Hall of Wards or die trying. Testing their luck against the university’s strongest defenses, the competitors pull out all the stops as they vie for a chance at a fortune in gold and magical treasure. This year, the school’s headmaster has invited the heroes to participate, against the contest’s longstanding traditions. While the Breaching Festival has not seen a champion in over a century and a half, this year’s festival promises to be the deadliest trial the school has ever known. Should the heroes reign victorious, the secrets they may uncover promise more than gold and glory—they may rock the very foundation of the Acadamae, and even the entire city!
Just so you know I'm not sure how often I'm going to be able to get online this weekend to check this thread but figured I'd see if I could get any bites.

I'm thinking Conjuration teleportation specalist wizard (my favorite), Master summoner (havent played much) or Synthesist (never played one).
DM, any feelings on those concepts either good or ill?
Edit: Or a lazy halfling wizard who has in improved familiar elemental in the shape of an easy chair that he rides around all the time. ;-)

Going to throw my hat into the ring on this one. I'm thinking Arcane Trickster. Ninja sorcerer, probably, but if that's a problem, let me know and I'll make a wizard thief.
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 4) + 6 = 16
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 1) + 6 = 11
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 5) + 6 = 17
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 1) + 6 = 12
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 3) + 6 = 11
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 5) + 6 = 12
That'll do!

OK, rolling just in case I feel like getting into it.
Could try a hmmm ... a bard or something ... or Druid ... ???
But really wanted to say DM Mathpro is a good DM, I'm enjoying one of his other games, its a lot of fun.
There you go, endorsing the DM ... :)
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 2) + 6 = 13
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 3) + 6 = 10
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 6) + 6 = 14
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 3) + 6 = 14
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 4) + 6 = 16
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 1) + 6 = 11

Oooh! This sounds like the perfect opportunity to actually play a Spellbreaker barbarian! Mathpro, let me know if we are all required to play arcane casters. I'd rather play a templar-style character (If you've played Dragon Age, you know what I'm talking about), someone who is suspicious of arcane magic and therefore got a job as a security guard at the Acadamae. Will be rolling a dwarf.
Full backstory soon. Here is my stat generation:
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 3) + 6 = 13
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 6) + 6 = 13
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 1) + 6 = 8
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 6) + 6 = 17
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 2) + 6 = 10
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 3) + 6 = 13
Edit: Huh...exactly 20 point buy? Well, if it's all the same to everyone else, I'd rather just make my own 20 point buy then. Get rid of all those odd numbers.

Thinking halfling Combat dentist or sum such
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 2) + 6 = 9
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 1) + 6 = 9
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 2) + 6 = 10
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 3) + 6 = 11
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 3) + 6 = 12
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 1) + 6 = 10
wow look at that no roll above three, I told every one the RNG hates me.
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 1) + 6 = 13
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 1) + 6 = 9
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 1) + 6 = 13
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 4) + 6 = 16
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 6) + 6 = 16
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 2) + 6 = 10
thats better, GM can I take the second set
If you let me have the second set, Im thinking Hell Knight, or Monk/Shadow-dancer/Synthesist.

Time to roll the bones in curiosity and perhaps even a character submission later on...
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 1) + 6 = 8
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 1) + 6 = 10
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 1) + 6 = 12
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 2) + 6 = 12
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 2) + 6 = 12
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 3) + 6 = 14
And may the bones be rolled...
Edit: And a peasant was rolled.

Here is Grant Spellbreaker, the Dwarven Templar of Justice. And before anyone asks, no he's not an inquisitor. He's a barbarian with max ranks in Spellcraft and Knowledge (Arcana). An inquisitor would just be silly.
Anyway, working on his crunch now. Will work on his fluff after the concept is approved by the DM.

2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 2) + 6 = 11
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 6) + 6 = 18
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 6) + 6 = 18
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 3) + 6 = 10
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 6) + 6 = 17
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 3) + 6 = 13
Hot damn. I'll try making something with those. I have absolutely no clue what I'll be making, but I should have an idea sometime soon. And now, I'm gonna go mess around with stats.
Edit: I think I'm going to adapt and progress another character of mine to 13th level. Are racial archetypes from the ARG allowed? I've got fairly regular access to my friend's copy, and I like the forgemaster cleric for this character. Dwarven Berzerker Priest. :D

A young, magically talented 11 year old girl who was denied to study at the Acadamae a year ago due to her young age. She since then traveled across the continent and had adventures with other people, surviving dungeons, shipwrecks, and the stink of a dozen orcs feet.
Merlaine, human girl, always wishing to be a proper Wizard but never had education, she does however have talent in her blood due to fey and dragon ancestry. She plans to take the test here not for fame or gold, but to get finally accepted and study here.
Name: Merlaine
Race: Human
Age: 11
Classes: Archaeologist/Dragon Disciple
Hmm, might drop the DD idea and take instead Arcane Trickster, but I think there is already one such concept. An interesting twist could be to drop the prestige class idea and multiclass into Witch instead
I may also instead use a concept for a barbarian/rogue/fighter character if the above concept is not to the GM-s liking
