lol, I'm liking the idea of hitting people in the face with a shield and fists though.

It was in reference to Ugg saying he was the only frontliner :3

There is also a Vigilante Talent for shield users.

The vigilante gains Improved Shield Bash as a bonus feat. If he already has the Improved Shield Bash feat, he can immediately swap it for another feat for which he qualified at the level he chose Improved Shield Bash. In addition, if he is at least 6th level, he is treated as if he has the Two-Weapon Fighting feat as long as one of the weapons used is a shield. This allows him to take feats that require Two-Weapon Fighting as a prerequisite without meeting the Two-Weapon Fighting or Dexterity prerequisites, but these feats only apply while he is wielding a shield as one of his weapons (unless he takes Two-Weapon Fighting as normal, in which case this restriction is lifted).

Still editing and shifting things about. Backstory and intro story thing are going to be changing drastically since I found the Totem Spear.

Several decades of gaming have taught me that there's no such thing as party optimization. Just a group of people playing good characters they enjoy and a GM who adjusts for that.

Except when you have to crew a starship. Then everyone needs the right skills.

Eh, in my experience while there can be it's not required.

Party cohesion is whole nother story :3

Changed picture. Updated lots of stuff. Still marinating the story

YDS, Droge and I are talking about intertwined characters. We're coming to the conclusion that the Unchained Summoner spell list doesn't have quite enough variety to really allow for two magical girls with complimentary themes.

Could we use the Unchained Summoner known spells numbers but one draw from Wiz/Sor and the other from Cleric?

Also, this is a bit different, but can we share a familiar? Having it empower us both? We're looking at a shared origin as twins.

Mero and I are leaning toward knowing of each other, but not actually being friends or anything. We are both gladiators, so we should see each other as competition at first. Should be fun. :)

Hmm...

Casting as an UnSummoner but using the other lists I will allow.

Having a single familiar I will allow, even though that's a bit of nerf.

Ooo, any interesting matches you guys have participated in?

Sweet.

Droge and I are still working out the details but here's what we have for BG so far...

---

They are from Magnimar. Daddy was a Pathfinder who often came through the city on his way to this tomb or that ruin. Mom was his kept woman but she was a whore before that. Both daughters showed prowess with magic and were meant to attend an academy but..,

... One day they followed dad on one of his expeditions. This one was close to home as he and his team explored inside a section of the ire span. With them clearing the way there was little danger...

... Until they heard the voice. It lured the girls down a side chamber into a strange room where an ancient altar of strange and alien design lay. The voice spoke the the girls, promising to give them the power to change the world if only they would smash the icon on the altar.

Together the twins picked up the icon and together they dashed it down to the ground, breaking it. From inside stepped a horned black cat. Magic swirled up from the Unicat and poured into the twins, forever changing them into...

Pathfinder Lace, filled with the burning power of mystic passion and magic!

And

Pathfinder Leather, wielding the healing power of unbridled love!

Guided by their familiar, known to them only as Mistress, they battle evil and fight the forces of oppression and the mundane!

Their poor father, not knowing what else to do, entrusted them to the Pathfinder Society to ensure they aren't destroyed by whatever is possessing them. He means well but the next adventure calls and he can't stay to do it himself...

Hey Mero, what if we wrote a match about ourselves and then wrote a match we first saw each other in? So we would each wrote one for both characters?

*blink*

*blink*

Oooookaaaayyy...

Thought that was going somewhere else at first.

Wait... lace is passion and leather is love?

Makes sense to me. Love is enduring, and not always pretty. Passion is fleeting, fragile. Like lace.

Also, we thought it was neat to defy expectations a bit. :) Still trying to figure out a way to work a gun into the build.

I've seen the rest of the pic that avatar comes from, please tell me you're Lace.

Hmmm. We were planning on going with the Sacred Sting, as she's was supposed to be mom's goddess but what do you think, sis? Arshea?

Either works good :3

While I would assume there's a Temple of Calistria I know that Magnimar is really big on Empyreal Lords so it could be either.

Oooooo or you could even go with the redeemed Nocticula angle!

Okay yep, going off the Magnimar book the main temple of Calistria is the Dome of the Savored Sting, located in the Keystone district.

Heh, they, along with temple of Erastil, employ mercenaries in order to police the district.

While not a temple there's also the House of Welcome in the Naos district.

Magnimar, City of Monuments wrote:
House of Welcome: Magnimar's most exclusive (and most expensive) brothel is the House of Welcome, a sprawling villa that inspires the jealousy of many of the city's families. In fact, the House of Welcome itself could have been classified as an aristocratic villa, were it not for a law that prohibits members of the aristocracy from using their own villas as a place of business. When Siobhani Abantiir learned she was barren, the distraught but canny woman knew her home would never know the joy of descendants, and decided instead to turn her villa into a high-class brothel. In an ironic turn of fate, Siobhani became pregnant not 2 years later, but the damage had been done. Today, the House ofWelcome is run by Madame Remeka Abantiir (CG aristocrat 5/cleric of Calistria 3), granddaughter of Siobhani. Remeka is somewhat bitter that her grandmother's choice robbed her of her family manor, and hopes to some day be able to afford to move the House of Welcome to an off site location. Unfortunately, the brothel's significant customer base makes the prospect of buying a new building for it prohibitively expensive-as would be purchasing a suitably grand new manor home for herself. For now, Madame Abantiir is stuck where she's at, and with most ofher customers being members of other great families of Magnimar, she's growing increasingly frustrated and irrationally convinced that they're engaged in a conspiracy to keep her trapped as the House's madam until the day she dies.

And here's the dome.

Magnimar, City of Monuments wrote:
Dome of the Savored Sting: This garish stone structure features a black-and-golden dome crowned by a thin black spire-a representation of the goddess Calistria's sting. The temple accepts worshipers, but also functions as a brothel to those the church deems worthy of the honor of paying for time with a temple prostitute. The church also offers its services to those who have been wronged, with Ayamyra (CN female elf cleric of Calistria 7), the church's current mistress, personally handling many of these missions of revenge-she quite adores customizing punishments and retributions based on the acts of those she's been contracted to seek revenge upon. The church also regularly sends patrols of leather-clad toughs out to pound the streets at night, an act that often provokes territorial clashes with the church of Erastil.

The visual image of how this keeps larceny down, and that the church of Erastil doesn't like it, interests me greatly.

Okay. Stats for Pathfinder Leather are in my profile.

The Shucked Oyster: Magnimar sports dozens of official brothels (and countless more unofficial ones), but of those in the Shore, few have as notorious a reputation as the Shucked Oyster. At four stories, this flamboyant seaside manor-house is one of the district's tallest buildings and would be impossible to ignore even without its balconies of underdressed, salacious prostitutes and gigolos overlooking the streets and piers below. The oyster's employees, split relatively equally down gender lines, have frequent competitions against each other of various scandalous natures, and the entire establishment's blase attitude toward sex has long scandalized well-bred visitors and even the higher-class courtesans ofestablishments like the House of Welcome-who claim "the antics ofthe Shucked Oyster cheapen and demean the act of love." Regardless, the establishment is quite popular, and attempts to have it shut down or more strictly regulated are quickly quashed mostly via the numerous powerful contacts that the Oyster's madam, Seeshah Raccas (CN female hal elf sorcerer 8) has carefully cultivated over the years. The fact that her brother happens to run the Night Scales certainly doesn't hurt her ability to deftly defeat her political enemies.

"cheapen and demean the act of love" Uh, House of Welcome? You're a brothel too...

Ordellia district does not list a major brothel, or any brothels for that matter.

Aside from mentioning "poorly-run brothels" the Underbridge district does has me one gem.

Magnimar, City of Monuments wrote:
The Harpy: Few businesses elect to base their operations in Underbridge, and fewer still legitimate artisans come here to live and work, yet the sole resident of Irespan's Harpy piling is a notable exception. Ayavah (CN androgynous demon-blooded tiefling sorcerer 8) is an exceptionally talented sculptor of fine statuary, who came to dwell in the small complex at the base of the Harpy after being inspired by the exquisite and unusual carvings that graced its length. Ayavah's favorite subject, depictions of romantically entwined succubi, can be found throughout the Inner Sea region in collections and treasuries. Although androgynous, Ayavah presents the image of a willowy, pale-skinned woman with long black hair and six- ngered hands to the public-she keeps her constantly growing goatlike horns led to stubs and hidden under one of many pointed hats she favors. Her talents are known throughout the Inner Sea to collectors of fine sculptures, although few in Magnimar realize that one of their most talented artists dwells here in the Irespan's shadow. Ayavah is particularly intrigued by the nature of the blessings granted by Magnimar's monuments, and hopes someday to replicate those effects in her carvings. Her greatest secret isn't her unusual gender, though, but rather her faith-Ayavah is a heretical worshiper of Nocticula who believes the queen of succubi is in fact a fallen empyreal lord who wants to ascend from the evil of the Abyss to become a goddess of outcasts, artists, and the glories of midnight. Few take greater exception to these unusual beliefs than the actual cult of Nocticula, a group Ayavah has been hiding from for many years, and which she lives in constant fear of being discovered by again.

Well that's it for major brothels so now to Serpent's Run in the Alabaster District.

Magnimar, City of Monuments wrote:

Serpent's Run: Those of the middle or lower class are generally not welcome in the Alabaster District, save for one significant exception: The sprawl of the Serpent's Run accepts all who can pay for a seat, from the most expensive private balconies (some of which go for hundreds of gold coins for a single event) down to the filthy "copper benches" where a spot for a day's games cost but a single copper coin. This sprawling hippodrome is easily Magnimar's most popular public venue, and is also the city's largest modern structure (though not its tallest-that honor goes to the Arvensoar). Snakes are a common decorative motif here, including one tremendously long carving of a single immense snake winding around the upper rim of the Run, its tail clenched in its own teeth above the venue's main entrance-an homage to the heroics of the city's most beloved founder. The primary street leading to the main entrance is known as Champion's Walk, a statuary-lined avenue decorated with images ofthe field's greatest champions. This gigantic arena hosts decathlons, horse and dog races, displays of magic, circus performances, and-on rare occasions small-scale naval engagements and mock-gladiatorial battles. Capable of seating a crowd of well over 5,ooo cheering onlookers, the Serpent's Run hosts at least two to three events a month, and sometimes as many in a single week. Jorston "Axetongue" Droaeb (LN male dwarf expert 4/ fighter 3), the hippodrome's aged but still spry Master of Games, organizes events and ensures

that all competitions are fair and safe. Despite frequent requests by some of the aristocracy's more bloodthirsty members, Jorston has never booked an event that he would classify as a "bloodsport"-something that Jorston defines as an actual battle to the death between two thinking foes, regardless of their training or crimes. That Jorston doesn't count events like bullfighting or hydra baiting as bloodsports has long been a bone of contention with the city's naturalists, but these exciting events are among the Run's most popular (and thus most nancially successful) events.

So my idea is she started out in back room, fight club style matches to work off her parent's debts, and once the people she was paying off saw how good at it she actually was, they put her in the arena.

I tend not to go too crazy with backstory on a 1st level character since it seems kind of overkill and a little off to write something epic and then barely be able to hit a goblin.

But the first time they saw each other in battle would be interesting, although it might work better for that t come up as a memory when the meet at the beginning of the adventure. What do you think?
