For you my friend I would be game to play anything. I am in a council of thieves game but the gm there has said he has edited a lot of it, It was meant to be a low powered campaign heck were are level 5 and get out first PC level at 6. Right now he is a aristocrat level 5. I got a masterwork weapon this level its pretty shiny.
So basically if you wanted to do Council of Thieves I could do that again certainly. The I am in the first book on a lot of the AP's, the only ones im in further than that of course would be this Awesome reign of winter one >.> and I guess technically the Council of Thieves.
Beside the games im in with you, I did kingmaker for two encounters, I've been a pirate twice, though I am in a very slow running run that is nearing the end of book one, (i started it before the reign of winter one and literally I guess we are just now getting close to the end of book 1). Ive been in five Rise of the runelords that died by the 2nd encouter, minus a rise of the goblin lords, one that died just when I was planning a coup. Im in a wrath of the righteous nearing the end of book 1, but other than that havent touched the other ones really, but would be willing to play anything *Nods nods*

The Rising Phoenix |

I'm always up for a game, my only request is not Rise of the Runelords as I'm GM'ing 3 and playing in 1 at the moment.
Other than that I have either played in or are playing in:
* Council of Thieves (PC)
* Reign of Winter (GM)
* Skull & Shackles for a few weeks before it died. (PC)
* Giantslayer (GM)
* Mask of the Mummy (PC)
* Hell's Rebels (PC - But this just died).
But really, you start it and I'll be there.

I know very little about any of the paths up until I go to get involved. If I were to top three interest them i would say
Shattered Star, Second Darkness, and then hmm since i have no idea about it Giant slayer?
(i went ahead and took out Rise of the runelords... one day game one day I will play you! *lawls*)

The Rising Phoenix |

Weeeeeeelllll, you could go bug Phoenix, I hear he's running 3.
Well. All three are currently slotted with six PC's at the moment and I prefer not to hit 7 if I can help it. If someone drops somewhere I can let you know if you're interested.
Going off TheNine's list I'd be up for Shattered Star or Second Darkness.
I like our demented storyteller would have fun in Carrion Crown.

The Rising Phoenix |

So here's an idea, everyone pick three themes and we choose from the paths that fit the most common choice
I would like one where we have more than a 5 point-buy, a game that lasts at least through book one, and intriguing role-play over stats.
Oh wait, you said themes. Whoops :D
I don't want lasers, super sandboxy or lovecraftian. But I wouldn't mind kicking Cthulhu's ass! :D

Eh, since this is my first time running a PBP I'd prefer if we started from the beginning, sorry.
So let's see:
Rise of the Runelords : Classic heroes
Curse of the Crimsom Throne : urban heroes
Second Darkness
Legacy of Fire : eh, you're in Katapesh, later on you get to be heroes I guess.
Council of Thieves : not really heroic, plus you got that damn play...
Kingmaker
Serpent's Skull : it's got serpent folk and Ydserius so Lovecraftian but not Lovecraftion horror
Carrion Crawler
Jade Regent : help Ameiko reclaim her rightful throne, pretty heroic
Skull & Shackles : pirates... right...
Shattered Star
Reign of Winter : stop the world from being destroyed (my personal favourite AP)
Wrath of the Righteous : epic/blatant HERO AP but contains mythic
Mummy's Mask : Indiana Jones AP
Iron Gods
Giantslayer : another classic fantasy AP
Hell's Rebels : overthrowing an Evil Goverment
Hell's Vengeance

The Rising Phoenix |

While fun, Reign of Winter is brutal in the first book. If you don't want to die I would avoid that one.
Runelords definitely makes you feel like a hero in book one. Book two on the other hand is all about smashing your face in >.>
Anyone have thoughts on Jade Regent?

Hello there, got invited over and with a couple of games suddenly on indefinite haiatus decided to accept the offer.
I'm game for most of the options still open with the exceptions of skulls and shackles (running 1, playing in two pbp and 1 rl) and hell's rebels (in two).
Of particular interest to me would be legacy of fire and council of theives.
I'd really enjoy something I could run a vigilante in, got the book and love the class concept and several archetypes.

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

I think the reason I'm Lovecrafted out is just I'm "dark and drearied" and "being evil" out. I would love to play in a good party without an incredible amount of angst and drama around every corner, whose reward for doing good deeds isn't having their family killed and innocents murdered right in front of them while they can't do anything about it.
It'd be awesome.

I really want to try the super rager skald/bloodrager that gives +8 str/con to the entire party at lvl 2.
Fated champoin+war drummer skald. I will drum your face off!
If we have me AND a bard?! Oh my....
Edit: His great club is totally going to be a Giant's thigh bone and his smaller clubs will be the thigh bones of his (evil) enemies!

to steal your list from earlier now that I'm home
Rise of the Runelords : Classic heroes (Not to interested in a second one but I could be convinced)
Curse of the Crimsom Throne : urban heroes (in one, not sure I need another though the vigilante class might fit in really well)
Second Darkness In one and having a lot of fun, not sure I want a second one though)
Legacy of Fire : eh, you're in Katapesh, later on you get to be heroes I guess. quite interested
Council of Thieves : not really heroic, plus you got that damn play... quite interested
Kingmaker (had nothing but bad luck with this one)
Serpent's Skull : it's got serpent folk and Ydserius so Lovecraftian but not Lovecraftion horror (maybe)
Carrion Crawler (never could get into this one)
Jade Regent : help Ameiko reclaim her rightful throne, pretty heroic (interested)
Skull & Shackles : pirates... right...
Shattered Star (maybe but it's already off the list so no)
Reign of Winter : stop the world from being destroyed (my personal favourite AP) (This is one of the ones that died just recently and I dearly want to play it through.)
Wrath of the Righteous : epic/blatant HERO AP but contains mythic (interested but have had really bad luck with it, game either dies or slows to a crawl almost immediately.)
Mummy's Mask : Indiana Jones AP (Meh, not really, but maybe)
Iron Gods
Giantslayer : another classic fantasy AP
Hell's Rebels : overthrowing an Evil Goverment
Hell's Vengeance

I've narrowed it down to
Rise of the Runelords : already in one
Curse of the Crimsom Throne : weak maybe?
Second Darkness: Know nothing about it
Legacy of Fire : I could get behind this one. I haven't attempted it in years. The last one ended in a TPK at the end of book one.
Council of Thieves : meh? Theives doesn't seem to equal heroism...
Kingmaker In one that's struggling.
Serpent's Skull : Never tried it. I hear it's kinda Surviror-ish
Carrion Crown: Maybe, but his one is all horror and I'm not sure that's what we're going for here.
Jade Regent: Maybe? All those NPC's could be rough on a newer GM
Skull & Shackles : been in two, run three
Shattered Star Already DQ'd, apparently
Reign of Winter : In one, kinda hesitant on another
Wrath of the Righteous : Maybe? I hear this one was balanced on the weak side, so could end up being a challenge for our Storyteller
Mummy's Mask : *shrug* Haven't heard much...
Iron Gods
Giantslayer : I know nothing about it, but the title sounds interesting.
Hell's Rebels : in one
Hell's Vengeance

*nods*
And don't worry, since I'm GMing instead of playing there will not be any Dauds in the campaign :3

*scratches head*
Actually, while Shattered Star does have a part taking place on Leng it doesn't require you to make dark or nebulous characters.
In fact, the AP as a whole has plenty of redemption and diplomacy options for the antagonists and is for the most part lighthearted (compared to the other APs that is).
To go back to what you're saying J, SS has a Lovecraft setpiece, but not a Lovecraftian feel to it.
