Male Wood Elf Shadow Monk 3 | AC: 16 | HP: 24/24 | Pass Peception: 15 | Elven resistances

Return to the group and advise on what I saw.

Human GM

Ok. Everyone can view Riathwyn spoilers. What do all of you want to do now? Around 5 minutes have passed, which means that the guard is coming in around 5 more minutes.

Female Gnome Artificer 3 | AC 16/12unarmoured | HP:24 | Saves: S+0; D+2; C+4; I+5*; W-1*; Ch+1* (*ADV vs Magic) | Init +1 | Per -1 (passive 9) | HD 3

"Don't want to arouse too much suspicion, probably better to not risk running around too much."

Male Wood Elf Shadow Monk 3 | AC: 16 | HP: 24/24 | Pass Peception: 15 | Elven resistances

Raithwyn nods, making his way back toward their cargo hauling duties.

Male Half-Elf Rogue Charlatan 3 (Mastermind); AC: 15, Unarmored: 13; HP: 18/18; Saves: Advantage vs. Charm, Dex and Int; Init: +3; Perc: +2 (Passive 12), HD 3

Jake follows the others back.

Human GM

As you are walking back to where the guard is supposed to meet you, you hear the distant sound of footsteps. Two guards are marching towards your location, but do not appear to be looking for something. Instead, they appear to be on patrol. You blend into the shadows, and they do not spot you. However, the guards move rather slow, and you have to slightly slow down as you move past them.

At the meeting place, a bored looking man in a guards uniform is leaning against a wall, tapping his foot. Beside him is a short man with a large stomach. There you are! the first guard shouts Where were you!?

Male Wood Elf Shadow Monk 3 | AC: 16 | HP: 24/24 | Pass Peception: 15 | Elven resistances

Trouble findin our way around gov. You got a labyrinth here! That way then to the cargo? he says, motioning to the way back to the ship and their assigned job.

Human GM

I'll roll deception for you. Is your mod +0? Doesn't look like you are proficient in it, and your charisma is 10. If I'm wrong, feel free to add the mod to the roll.
Raithwyns roll: 1d20 ⇒ 11
The guards nod, but one of them narrows their eyes in suspicion. Get your cargo and lets go
Do you want to fast forward, or do a little more snooping?

Male Half-Elf Rogue Charlatan 3 (Mastermind); AC: 15, Unarmored: 13; HP: 18/18; Saves: Advantage vs. Charm, Dex and Int; Init: +3; Perc: +2 (Passive 12), HD 3

Fast forward.

Male Wood Elf Shadow Monk 3 | AC: 16 | HP: 24/24 | Pass Peception: 15 | Elven resistances

That's fine, your roll was accurate. I just didn't want to voluntarily roll if none was needed. I'm fine with moving forward if there isn't anything else to find here.

Human GM

Your plan is to impersonate the noble now, right?

After you finish the cargo job, you are each paid 1 gold piece, and told to come again for another job, if you wish. You meet up once more at a private location once more (perhaps your original meeting place) to discuss your next plan of action. Your employer has given you a small piece of paper describing the behaviors of Gerwin Jelud, since he is too dead to spy on.
It describes him as someone who:
Displays confidence bordering on arrogance
Often makes sly, condescending remarks to the wrong people
In an attempt to sound "holier-than-thou", misquotes works of famous scholars, poets, etc
Loves to drink
Combs his hair with his fingers both quite often and openly
Always "misremembers" everyone's names

Male Wood Elf Shadow Monk 3 | AC: 16 | HP: 24/24 | Pass Peception: 15 | Elven resistances

Jack. I believe the plans wass for you to imperssonate the essteemed Gerwin, with an exxoticc Tabaxxi on your arm? Or wass it a disstinguished sscholar? Asks Raithwyn after the group reassembles. That leavess the tassk of sservant to the resst of uss?

Male Half-Elf Rogue Charlatan 3 (Mastermind); AC: 15, Unarmored: 13; HP: 18/18; Saves: Advantage vs. Charm, Dex and Int; Init: +3; Perc: +2 (Passive 12), HD 3

Indeed, I will be playing that role.

Human GM

When the day of the party arrives, you have all managed to disguise yourselves, and secure transportation to the party. You have just entered the large mansion. Men a women in fancy clothes mill about, sipping from glasses of fine wine. A man in an elegant sit approaches Jake. Sir, I feel as if I recognize you, but, from where, I do not know. May I ask, have you ever been to the town of Baldurs Gate?

Male Wood Elf Shadow Monk 3 | AC: 16 | HP: 24/24 | Pass Peception: 15 | Elven resistances

As those of us non-noble types, do we have jobs? what are our purposes here? are we all "Gelud"'s servants?

Male Half-Elf Rogue Charlatan 3 (Mastermind); AC: 15, Unarmored: 13; HP: 18/18; Saves: Advantage vs. Charm, Dex and Int; Init: +3; Perc: +2 (Passive 12), HD 3

Jake appears unrecognizable to those he are aware he is in disguise. His mannerisms, movements, and even accent are different than his regular persona. He bows briefly to the man. He does have the exotic Tabaxxi, Shirraj, on his arm. With the other, he combs his fingers through his hair. The remaining members of the party are either posing as bodyguards, secretaries, or servants.

Ahhhh, indeed, sir. It is possible. I travel so frequently, it is hard to say. I have been to Baldur's Gate, and everywhere else, expanding my holdings. Where can the guests expect to hydrate?

You can act like servants if you like, or workers, or nobleman, etc. Right now, according to the original plan/earlier posts, this is to secure access to the mask, as it will be on display, and, when it will not be on display, it will likely be under less security.

Also, sorry I couldn't post earlier. RL came up, then the wi-fi went out. If that didn't happen, I would have been able to post this much earlier

A waiter moves nearby, carrying a tray full of drinks. He hands you a margarita and moves off. The man you just spoke to also moves away.
Rothar strides into the room, holding a glass in one hand. Greetings, esteemed gentlemen and ladies! I have gathered you here to admire a beautiful piece of arcane art! All the nobles in the room clap, waiting for the mask to be shown.

In a few minutes,I shall bring the piece out for your enjoyment. In the meantime, enjoy a work of music by a few great minstrels! He strides out, and several elves walk into the room, each bearing a musical instrument. They start playing a beautiful, possibly elven, song, that attracts the attention of most of the people in the room
If you guys want to do something right now, you can do so. Currently, the mask is likely somewhere between the vault and the room, and Rothar has headed off to get it.
